In the midst of a zombie apocalypse, Jack and Sam decided the safest place to hide was their van. They parked in a secluded forest, hoping the rain and thick trees would keep them hidden from the undead. The sound of rain pattering on the van’s roof created a tense, eerie atmosphere. Despite the constant fear, they found a strange comfort in the rhythmic rain. As night fell, they took turns keeping watch, the van their only barrier against the lurking horrors outside. The van was their fortress now, a metal cocoon shielding them from the terror beyond. They had fortified it as best they could, with reinforced windows and a makeshift barricade for the doors. Inside, the space was cramped but organized, with supplies meticulously arranged for easy access. Food and water were rationed carefully, every meal a reminder of their precarious situation. Sam, an engineer by trade, had rigged a small solar panel to the van’s roof, providing just enough power to charge their devices and keep a single light burning at night. It was a fragile connection to the world they once knew, the soft glow a beacon of hope in the darkness. Jack, a former paramedic, had stocked a small first aid kit, always prepared for the worst. The rain was relentless, a constant backdrop to their anxious whispers and hushed conversations. They talked about their lives before the outbreak, shared stories of friends and family they had lost or hoped to find again. Each tale was a thread weaving them closer, a bond forged in the crucible of survival. On this particularly dark and stormy night, as Sam took his turn at watch, he heard a rustling in the bushes. His heart raced, and he strained to see through the rain-streaked window. The van’s interior was silent except for Jack’s soft snoring. Sam held his breath, fingers tightening around the baseball bat he kept by his side. The noise grew louder, and Sam’s fear escalated. Shadows danced in the periphery of the dim light, creating sinister shapes that seemed to creep closer. The rain beat down harder, as if the world itself was conspiring against them. Just as Sam’s imagination began to spiral, a deer emerged from the shadows, its eyes reflecting the dim light. He exhaled slowly, his grip on the bat loosening. The deer, oblivious to the chaos of the world, bounded away into the forest. Sam sat back, his heartbeat gradually slowing, the rain’s steady rhythm soothing his nerves. But the relief was short-lived. As dawn broke, bringing a muted light to the dreary forest, the unmistakable groans of the undead reached their ears. Jack and Sam quickly packed up, their movements frantic yet practiced. The van rumbled to life as they prepared to move on, its engine a defiant roar against the silence of the apocalypse. They drove on, through deserted towns and overgrown highways, always vigilant, always ready. The rain had washed the world clean, but the threat of the undead remained ever-present. Every shadow seemed to conceal a lurking horror, every rustle of leaves a prelude to an attack. Jack and Sam knew they could not afford to let their guard down, not even for a moment. The world had become a nightmare, and their survival depended on constant vigilance. As they drove into the unknown, the sound of rain became a haunting melody, a testament to their unwavering will to live. The van was more than a shelter; it was a symbol of their survival, a beacon of hope in a world overrun by darkness. And as they navigated this new, terrifying world, they found strength in their bond and resilience in their spirit, determined to face whatever horrors lay ahead.

After months of radio silence I heard a weak voice asking for help, it took three weeks to get to her, so many abandoned cars that had to be moved, the occasional fallen tree that couldn’t be chainsawed because of the noise. When I finally got there she was so week I had to carry her from the flat roof top where she had survived ( just) down the fire ladder to the top of my truck. Once inside, almost oblivious to her new surroundings she started to warm up and become coherent. “ I’ve got some bad news “ I said as she looked me in the eye for the first time, “ this is real and things aren’t going to get back to normal “.

"Supplies are a bit low; but last I heard, the army's started surrounding the zombie hordes, just picking 'em off one-by-one. Sometimes, I swear I hear the gunshots, but maybe I'm finally just losing it. Or maybe it's a couple of raiders shooting a guy, or what. (Sigh) The army probably gave up a while ago, but a guy can dream, can't he? Gotta have _something_ to look forward to. I mean, look at me; end of my rope, and all that. Something's gotta keep me sane; so I'll pick the chance of getting rescued, I guess. Even if it just a fucking pipe dream."
In videos like this, I like to imagine the hordes are being driven back, and whoever we're watching is just a few hours away from getting rescued :P
