Yeah I reckon so, it's always the same whenever it's more of a tourist place than a "regular" town. Or maybe we just love to bitch and moan about prices to be honest, I mean Stephen was doing it in Aldi of all places today, so there really is no hope 😂
Thanks Sue, must admit we'd never heard of them before but travelling around Scotland I think we saw information on them in a few places, so maybe that type of activity was more prevalent up there 🤔😬
Great vlog guys and I hope you both feel better now. And hope you are having a great trip so far, I agree about the chips after all potatoes can’t be that expensive, it’s just greed I agree with Steve xx
Thank you, much better cold-wise now, though other ailments have crept in since then 😟 But nothing too bad hopefully. Yeah price wise it's difficult, I can't imagine how hard it is running these businesses and we definitely appreciate everyone's costs have risen, but some things seem WAY above any of that to be justifiable, the chips just triggered the conversation really. I think we were more bothered they weren't much cop to be fair 😆🤪
Haha I'd really rather not, it's a pain in the arse, but wasn't sure if UA-cam got funny about things like that! Then again, everyone is effing and blinding on here so it probably makes no difference! 🙃
Thanks Jimmy, I think we definitely look back and feel proud for being able to do this, living in a 2 foot square space for a few years without killing each other 😆 We're so pleased with what we've achieved and it definitely makes things that were previously unthinkable seem possible now, so I guess that is a confidence thing. It hasn't solved many of our problems as such, I think many mental health issues and demons we carry you just learn to accept as part of you. I (Dan) initially, and foolishly, thought it might "cure" some of mine, but of course not. Otherwise though, it's been good for the mind and soul in many ways ❤
Absolutely loved this video. Your editing is brilliant and your story telling is equally special. What do you do to fund your lifestyle? If you are not an author, then you should be. I think Steve should be your agent making sure you get value for moneys along the way. Safe travels. 🤗🚌❤️
Awww thank you both, that's so kind of you, what a beautiful comment...and certainly a pick-me-up after things have been breaking in the van this morning 😂😐🤦♂️ I really appreciate your kind words 🤗❤ Funnily enough, I do enjoy writing stories, though it's been a while! Steve would make a cracking agent too 😆 So we do work, although we live in the van we do security work, something we picked up after we moved into it. You have to do a course and it gives you a security license for 3 years or so. It's mostly static security looking after buildings etc, not the heavy duty sort of stuff! But so far it's allowed a balance between work and travel. We are still open to trying new ways of earning though, something remote would be great as another option. Hope you're enjoying Scotland despite this dire weather! 😕❤
07.23 - I agree with Steve completely .... they blame Covid, the Ukraine war and almost anything else that comes up in the news, but they are shooting themselves in the foot because there is no evidence that any of this impacts on extortionate prices. Going to Scotland next week ... will watch out for this type of greed xx
Have a brilliant time in Scotland! It is truly breathtaking there so hopefully you'll get to enjoy some of it. I think Scotland is naturally pricier than England, perhaps due to being more isolated in part. Some things are definitely extortionate all over though, and whatever the reason it does make it harder to justify parting with your cash at times!
Regarding the prices - Killin and Calander are both very tourist driven places, so that's why the prices are higher.
Exploitation?
Probably... 😀

@@comealongdear I’m from the north of Ireland ffs. The weather only exists in the mind. 😉
Exactly, it's all imaginary, just like the ice growing on the inside of the van in the depths of winter 😂 Pour a drink and you soon don't notice it 😆
