Im going to be using your videos on this playlist to introduce a new ferret I just got with my ferret that I’ve already had for a year!!! Thanks for making content like this!
I know this is late but how much is the average of a check up like how much was yours because I’m saving up for a ferret and has watched so much of your videos to learn more about them
It completely depends on where you live and what you're getting done. When I adopt new ferrets their first checkup (including an ear swab, fecal, and general exam) is around 100 Canadian dollars. Vaccines are around 120 each. I would recommend calling whatever vet you're planning to take your future ferrets to and asking them what they charge, I'm sure they'd be happy to help you out
The subtitles are really funny also I plan on buying from a breeder becuase although I feel bad for the ferrets at like petsmart I just don’t want to have to deal with a lot of sicknesses and the vet stuff
My dad got me my Ferret Lilly from petsmart, one time I told him about marshals and he said “they neutered them so who cares”. He makes fun of me for treating them like how there supposed to be treated. Not caged up like a fish
Your dad sounds like he has a small brain, full offence. Don't let him discourage you from being an awesome ferret owner! They deserve so much more than what some people give them
❤️❤️❤️I'm going to adopt a new one. They can't take all of them out of the shelter, which is really sad, and he has perfect medical history. Any advice?❤️❤️❤️❤️ LOVE YOU...............I'M A FRIENDLY NEIGHBOR! HECK YES
I have a couple questions I was hoping you might be able to help me with! I have two ferrets that I got about a month ago, and from the same "batch", we got two more two days ago! The original two just went to the vet and got clean bills of health, and their shots. The new two have been taken to the vet recently by the people we got them from. The original two get their second set of shots the same day as the new two get their first, in about three weeks. Should I still quarantine them for as long? Am I able to have them play in the same area? What if all of the ferrets have been in a small area together already? 😱 we were all in the car together
Am about to adopt my first 3 fuzz babies, I’m supper excited but I don’t know what I should be doing to prepare for them to come home… any suggestions?
Grabbing a rehome baby tomorrow. So needing to rewatch this again. *sidenote...like...hah...how many ferrets are too many?! I’ll be up to 3... am I crazy?!!!!! 🙈😅
I what to get my ferrets from a shelter or a rescue do I have to take them to a vet the same day I get them? Also do I take my ferret to a exotic vet for the check up or just a normal vet?
I would recommend asking your vet or doing some of your own research. I'm not too experienced with cats and dogs so I'm not sure. My instincts say that you dont need to and that's because cats and dogs are generally treated and cared for more than small animals like ferrets. A dog would very likely not be sold to you when it was sick, whereas a ferret very easily could since people dont care as much about or know as much about small pets and their health (which is sad but true).
Yes you can! But it's not very likely. Parasites are something that we can catch, but the only way we can get them is by ingesting feces (aka eating ferret poop!) which is very unlikely for you to do. Just make sure to wash your hands very well after cleaning your litter boxes
Nope! If they're already together they're fine ❤ the point of quarantine is to prevent the spreading of illness. If the ferrets have already been living together then there isn't a point, since any illness (like mites) will already have spread to both of them. Still make sure you get them to the vet ❤
That's something you should discuss with your vet on your first check up. Please make sure to get the ferret to the vet for a check up soon, just like cats and dogs they need regular exams even if nothing seems wrong.
Yes you still need to quarantine. vaccines won't protect against ear mites, fleas, ECE, or any other illnesses (like colds and flus) that you use that 2 week period to keep an eye out for.
The issue with that is then you aren't getting the benefit of bonding time with your ferret or getting them used to the house that they're going to be living in. For the sake of illness, it would work, but that's about it. Also then blanket swapping (which I'll talk about in my next video on this series) may become complicated.
She deserves WAYYYYYY more subs than she has!
Hey thank you for this! This is very very helpful because I migh be getting a ferret!!
It's an extremely cute ferret. I am very healed. Highly rated and subscribed. Thank you for your continued delivery.

That’s unfortunate

I would just take them as soon as possible, within 3 days or so. You should always go to an exotic vet.
Friendly Neighborhood Ferrets thx for your help
The one dislike is really disappointing. No dislikes necessary :)
Should you do the same 2 week quarantine with other animals like cats and dogs
I would recommend asking your vet or doing some of your own research. I'm not too experienced with cats and dogs so I'm not sure. Hi i was just wondering if humans could catch any of these disease that the ferret will have
thx ;D

Thx :D
When did you start transitioning alara and Andromeda to a raw diet?
I started the day after we got them :)
Yay I’m a friendly neighbour yay
If you buy 2 ferrets at the same time do you have to quarantine them ( I would get them at the same place )
Nope! If they're already together they're fine ❤ the point of quarantine is to prevent the spreading of illness. If the ferrets have already been living together then there isn't a point, since any illness (like mites) will already have spread to both of them. Still make sure you get them to the vet ❤
Ok, I just wanted to know because I’m getting a ferret in 26 or 27 days! If I be good
My girlfriend and I just got a new little guy yesterday and he already has one distemper vaccine. How soon do we take him to get his next one?
That's something you should discuss with your vet on your first check up. Please make sure to get the ferret to the vet for a check up soon, just like cats and dogs they need regular exams even if nothing seems wrong.
@@FriendlyNeighborhoodFerrets thank you for the reply! We’ve got him set up to go on Monday!
That's great! I hope he's all healthy
do you still have to quarantine them if they have both been vaccinated when they were younger??
Yes you still need to quarantine. vaccines won't protect against ear mites, fleas, ECE, or any other illnesses (like colds and flus) that you use that 2 week period to keep an eye out for.
@@FriendlyNeighborhoodFerrets okay, thank you😁
What do you think of quarantining at a different house?
The issue with that is then you aren't getting the benefit of bonding time with your ferret or getting them used to the house that they're going to be living in. For the sake of illness, it would work, but that's about it. Also then blanket swapping (which I'll talk about in my next video on this series) may become complicated.
What is dooking?
It's the sounds they make!
@@mildlynerdy thanks!
There so cute but I did research and I found out I can only own hamsters...Because everything’s to expensive for me.
That's unfortunate, but it's good that you recognize that
