I would get a thermometer and Find out how hot the water is. Ferrets base temp is higher than ours, so what is warm and what we think is safe for them, is a bit cold for them. So make the temp of the water what their natural base temperature is, and you may find they hate the bath a little less. I recently learned that this year, and it did make a difference with their experience with taking a bath. It is a temperature we'd naturally think would be too hot, but its comfortable for them.

The problem with Marshall is that there isn't another alternative. I didn't figure this out until after I got my ferrets, but I can't find a small-time breeder in my state or the next one over. So a rehomed ferret, which is what I did, is going to be from Marshall's. There's at least one ferret rescue, but if there aren't any other breeders in the state and Marshall only sells spayed/neutered ferrets so people can't breed their own (probably for the better), then all the rescues are also going to have Marshall's ferrets. I literally don't know what I'm going to do when I'm ready for more ferrets.
You're right, most ferrets in shelters and being rehomed are Marshall ferrets too, but when you get them from a shelter or someone who's rehoming your money doesn't go to Marshalls, which is the important part. When you buy a petstore ferret, the money is given to Marshall farms. You're saying "I'm okay with the treatment of ferrets in this mill, and to prove that I'm giving you money." HOWEVER if you get a ferret from a shelter, or a rehomed ferret, your money goes to the shelter or the person you're getting the ferret from, none of it goes to Marshalls. Yes, because they're originally from Marshalls, they're still going to have the health complications. But you aren't buying into the system that continues to produce unhealthy ferrets. Instead of saying "I'm okay with mill breeding" you're saying "I'm NOT okay with mill breeding, and to prove that I'll adopt a ferret in need instead of using my dollar to support the unethical treatment of ferrets."

You do get used to the smell though, and some people even like it! You shouldn't use any fragrances (especially anything that uses essential oils) because they're bad for your ferrets respiratory systems and senses of smell (like I talked about in this video). It's the whole egg, whisked up
