When Devvon said “Saturation is my everything and changed my life” I felt that. I can’t believe how long I went without utilizing such an important tool.
Been producing since 1999 and just started utilizing this tool purposely as I started making beats n analog gear so it’s some sort of saturation when levels are pushed , TDR limiter 6 🎉
Ive been going hard with saturation plugins since I started. StandardCLIP on pro mode with saturation at 20% ceiling on is exactly like the FL soft clipper and is always on my instrumental bus. Sketchcasstte 2 is amazing on buses. Satin by uhe is the best tape emulation out there a little complicated but unmatched if you dial in and put it on every sound. The envelope follower in Saturn 2 is sooo under appreciated for how fire it is and makes it still the one I'd hold on to. Black box is great on the master. Ableton is definitely in finance.
Decap was talking about the setting thats in the earlier versions of FL Studio like 11 and lower called circular panning law, when you uncheck that that setting the audio gets a +3db boost. This was kind of a cheat code cuz after you were done making a beat you can have a dope instant/automatic master tool that made your beat louder.
That's what I need to know. In another video devvon sais he just uses the god particle and a limiter when mixing but now he sais he adds the god particle during his mastering process I think? I am confused too
Depending on your CPU power but, for starters just put it on your master channel to give it glue and color then gradually start experimenting on mix busses and then single tracks if need be🎉
Studio one be that quiet genius kid that doesn’t speak up in class so nobody knows how smart they are. Meanwhile getting A+s consistently and top of their class. But they don’t give a fuck and have no ego so they don’t go around being like I’m the best. That’s studio one.
Pro tip, all my two track beat - vocals mixers put that neutron on the two track beat, sidechain it to your vocals and duck out the mid and high mids super cleannn thank me laterr
In FL windows There ASIO Drivers which get Installed while Installing FL. And In That ASIO drivers there’s option called Hard Clip Output which Is Turned on By default and nobody pays attention to it coz its very small. Bcoz of that every sound in FL clips. And Drums Sound So Punchy. On the other Hand those ASIO drivers aren’t available in Mac Version If I’m not Wrong that can be the Difference in Windows FL vs Mac FL. • LOGIC user btw after Five years with FL.
I think it would be great if you guys talk about Puremix or Mix With the Masters - are the premium mixing tutorials worth it compared to the gold from HMD or Pensado’s Lair
@@lmayes69 it will very soon. Baby Audio, FabFilter, Decap, Eventide (and more) already have iOS versions of their plugins available. Based on the track record, when Apple decides to do something it tends to create a trend in the industry (or at least makes it accessible to a much larger consumer base). How well it’s going to translate is anybody’s guess but I’m definitely excited to try it out for sure.
Now that Logic Pro is available on M1 iPad I’m debating whether to invest in the FabFilter Pro Bundle because it is WAAAY cheaper for the iPad than it is on other platforms. £119 for FabFilter Pro bundle for iPad over £559 for the MacOS version?!
L J & Devvon, how you didn't bring up FATSO by UAD or the new AROUSOR by Empirical Labs which is ffffiya?? Come on guys these can not NOT be in that Convo. dope episode tho!!! I need DEVVON to mix something for me tho!! where do I hyu??
26:58 I really don't like the sound of C4. No matter of the amount of compression I use on that thing it makes my signal sound more "tuney", like it's adding a little distortion in the upper mid range. Pro MB is way more transparent I think and much more expansive lol
It's always a DAW battle 😂😂 FL still got the most secret tools tho lol 🤘iZotope saturation in Nectar is fire too but Oxford Inflator is the best. And wooow NLS hasn't left my master chain in years either. For guitars n drums the older softube free saturation wasn't bad
Ableton is definitely the math teacher. While seeming boring and unattractive on the surface mastering the subject matter will give you the ability to build something fascinating. Much like an architect.
As an Ableton and Logic user…..The hate for Ableton by the “FL” guy is so strong!!! Ybro wants to love it but is toooo loyal to FL 😂 because it’s on record, on video 😂… it’s every episode lately is an Ableton jab 😂!! If Abelton is not 1, it’s also not 3 🤔 out of top 3 🤷🏾♂️ Pro Tools, Abelton, or FL based on the masses?
LJ it’s just a Kid Men play too much …. But Bruh I don’t know Backbox + BBtubes + GP ….. that’s a Lot off added harmonics and digital saturation in my opinion
saturation from analog gear is just really oversampled digital "analog" saturation. All that aliasing from saturator plugins without oversampling is what makes "digital"/plugin saturation sound inferior to real analog gear. TLDR: find a good saturation plugin that has high oversampling features, Fabfilter Saturn for example.

do you activate saturation on the mix bus from the start and mix into it, like say the god particle, or do you turn it on at the end?
Great question I hope they answer this
That's what I need to know. In another video devvon sais he just uses the god particle and a limiter when mixing but now he sais he adds the god particle during his mastering process I think? I am confused too
nah fr I want to know this too
Devvon answer this please

If you put a limiter on the mix bus in any Daw would it have the FL Studio effect?
Don’t sleep on SSL’s Saturator 🔥
