That last game - I think after seeing the Sokenzan in hand from the Bat, the play was swing with Aclazotz to heal for 4 + force the Sokenzan discard, which triggers spawning a 1/1 bat token, putting you at 8 life with two blockers, one of which lifelinks for 1 to leave you at one health after they swing for 4x4 with Battle cry if they don't draw a spell. It also solves your cases, which MAYBE lets you limp across the finishline with Poisoner + extra Batman swing. Rough spot either way! Also damn, night terrors be scary, especially the ones that feel actually possible versus fantasy stuff like boogymen.
Jim, if you are worried about the boros deck and other go wide strategies, this deck needs to up its curve a little and diversify its removal packge. Poisoner is good but otherwise too conditional if you don't have a board. Tresspasser and Wedding not needed. 8 one drops life gain enablers with so many taplands is crap anyway, might as well just run 4 and call it a day. I have a different version that runs Mardu manabase so I can kick an Archangel of Wrath. Also running the Steel Seraph & Gix's Command package plus a couple of Shelly's to round it out. One of Aclazotz in the main as well. It literally chews through any aggro deck and against other decks, by the time they finish handling all the Amalias, Bats and Voices, then the top end creatures will close out the game uncontested.
Really cool deck. Havent played Standard in many years, but it looks like it is in a good spot. Love to see brews and synergy driven decks do well, and have a variety of decks and strategies be viable.
I really like Case of the Gateway Express in a deck like this with all the lifelinkers and Amalia _(the creatures deal the damage with Case so you can get a bunch of lifelink triggers)._ Obviously the included cards are all excellent, so it's hard to say what I'd take out. Case adds a bit of removal and a nice attack buff, so it just depends on what direction to take the deck.
Would you possibly consider preacher of the schism over graveyard tresspasser? You did sideboard out the trespasser frequently and the preacher might be more useful for you. And consider Shrouded Shepherd for go wide decks that you might struggle with. I believe you've dominated using that card in a previous video.
Is it possible the deck wants Get Lost over Go for the Throat? We don't really car about there creatures sizing up too much because our Amalias and Voices are 9/10 times gonna be the biggest things on the board, and being able to hit enchantments might have been able to win that last match against Boros.
Cool deck, i think personally moving from gumdrop poisoner and getting a roaming throne naming cleric usually would be a better deck. Amalia, kor, lunarch veteran, and voice of the blessed are all clerics
Poisoner is amazing role compression for this list. It's both an enabler and a payoff for life gain. It's good to get ahead, and it helps when you're behind on board. It also fits on all parts of the curve, being a 1 drop, a 3 drop, and a 5 drop (with a food to crack)when it's needed. Roaming Throne is, in my opinion, the definition of win-more. It doesn't really help when you're behind, and really only pops off when you're already in a position to win. It's also another 4 drop in a low curve list, where The Wandering Emperor is just a higher quality card for the same mana cost.
I mean, it doesn't really matter what other 20+ cards you put in your deck when you have Bat, Go for the Throat, and Emperor. Three of the best cards in standard. You could play uncommon green creatures and still do well.

That last turn, you attack with aclatoz and they have to discard sokazan and you get a blocker.
