    I picked up a CORE on Monday (couldn't believe one was in stock), and put an RMR on it that I had. The guy at the store was as surprised as I was that it came with 3 magazines. Holy crap is it a nice pistol. I got it in .40S&W because I'm already invested in M&P40 magazines. The thing shoots better than I do, and that red dot makes it much faster.

    Get a BladeTech. Sepcifically the Sting Ray or the Black Ice.They make one specifically for the M&P, M&P Pro, and the M&P LS. They make all three types. They are about $65 which is a little bit more than a SERPA but for what you get in return it is VERY worth the extra $20-$25

    Jerry, this is 100% true... I was thinking about getting one of these in 40 cal, after watching the video Sat morning I went to the gun store to order one and they had it in stock! Had it in stock... now I have it in my safe and going to try it out this Wed with my niece. Thank you for taking the time to create that video, Smith and Wesson is lucky to have you on their team! Got the 40L

    I have installed a Trijicon RMR on my glock 19 which is my carry gun. I have to agree that they are EXTREMELY fast and are the future. My times have improved at every level. Most improvement can be seen at long range. I can now consistently place 2 shots center mass @ 50 yards in under 3.5 seconds from concealment. It may not be the best time but it is good for me.

    It's obvious to any knowledgeable shooter, that what Smith & Wesson have done here is take all the good things about the glock and springfield. Eliminated all the complaints people have about those guns. Grip angle, grip safety. Created a perfect blend of those other successful polymer guns. Adding in features not normally seen on anything less than a $1000+ special forces designed weapon. It's a LOT of gun for the money.

    M&P Pro C.O.R.E. pistol did not come with a mount for the new Leupold Deltapoint Pro optic. When I inquired to S&W, they said they are "not in development to make a new plate to fit their new design (S&W ticket # LTK111770118801x). What an absurd answer. Talk with S&W, Jerry.

    • @DaveSmith-cp5kj
      @DaveSmith-cp5kj 8 років тому

      +jon kim You can get a machinist to make you one. Pretty simple stuff, although you are right that S&W isn't being very smart by making one themselves. This resistance to make things modular to the way customers want is the only reason right now that I won't buy S&W and instead go with glock, which already has an established aftermarket and factory accessories. Still, glocks are going up in price and M&P's are fairly cheap...

Can't wait to test it against my SIG 1911 (for my personal collection that's the gun to which I compare all my other shooters to. • @steeltimberwolf
      @steeltimberwolf 9 років тому +1

      all hammer fired handgun have high bore axis, it's the nature of the way hammer fired handguns work.

    • @trefod
      @trefod 9 років тому

      steeltimberwolf Sure, but the SIG has always struck me as rather extreme. It may just be my subjective assessment though. I have never measured it.
      I think it rides high in the hand and feels oddly bulky. I personally prefer something like the hi-power or CZ style guns (among hammer fired guns)

    thanks Jerry. I learned alot - did they also change the twist rate on the .40s? i found the old rate of twist kept heavy .40 bullets from going too slow or they destabilized. I have to run my idpa loads (180 plated) about 145-150 pf or the groups look like a shotgun pattern. The faster twist might let me drop a couple 10ths of powder for even softer recoil.

    What is the real difference in shooting between the 4,25" and 5".
    Is the 5" better at longer ranges or is it more of a personal choice and no real benefit for either size.

I may b incorrect with this; but, u have 2 remember that one of Jerry’s big sponsors is S&W and I like 2 hear a fairly bias opinion of a gun. If S&W put out a bad gun, Jerry can’t really give his true opinions @ least not publicly or there might be repercussions and law suits. I would love 2 hear a novice opinion on this gun.

    I'm a gun dummy, But a lot of these handguns look the same and it seems that you could interchange the barrels...Sig 226 / 227. S&W 9mm /.40 cal . Glock. etc...But I'm assume the manufacture has made small /little differences so this is not possible. What you say?

    • @marreropablo7410
      @marreropablo7410 8 років тому

      if u get the mp40 you can swap out the 40S&W barrel and mags for 9mm. alot of people do this. you cant do that with the others calibres

    • @DoubleJThe
      @DoubleJThe 7 років тому

      You're right, most of the polymer pistols are similar in appearance, but none of the parts are interchangeable between manufacturers. Certain models share parts and barrels can be swapped in the same family like 10mm/.40/.357 Sig, depends mostly on the breach face dimensions. I've heard of people shooting 9mm through .40s with a barrel swap, but I've never tried dissimilar calibers like that. I have fired .40s through my G20 without a barrel swap, and other than short ejection, it runs completely normal.

    I have this pistol, but for some reason, I just cant shoot it as well as you. Wish I was able to practice at home like you. Just not an option in NJ.

      marcb2k Don't feel bad. There aren't a lot of people in the world that shoot as well as him and that's including people that can practice daily.

    So why when he shoots it sounds like a little pop and the gun doesn't move. When my friends and I shoot it sounds like a damn cannon and gun kicks like a mule.
