I did a re test on it for 3 days! Here is the video about it ua-cam.com/video/LCyaVirlytk/v-deo.html
I am genuinely impressed by the quality of a harbor freight product here. This is a success.
Yep same!
Yeah their jackstands haven't ended my life yet
@@tylerlong8928 those are what scare me the most.
@@TheBuffaloPaladin yeah dude I was underneath it yesterday and one of them literally tipped onto 2 legs and my skull almost became part of my headers
For what they charge it better be impressive.
I always appreciate these types of shorts on UA-cam. No loud annoying music and just calmly getting to the point
Great vid, short and gets to the point
Thanks! That’s my goal!
I've used these for years. I have dozens. I use them for everything. Guns, tools, medical devices, meds, cameras, drone... Durable, I can sit or stand on them without worrying about failure. In the last few years they started selling different colors. That makes it easier to know what you're grabbing. The only complaint is that there isn't a positive lockup for stacking. Similar to Pelican, but half the price or less!
oddball question here if i added more foam how well do you think it would protect a glass piece?
@@phoneusandfroboof829 lol I keep my 2-3k pieces in them and have for years. Have also shipped them in the mail hundreds of times. It's your best option of hauling around expensive glass.
Get a Pelican Storm case if you can, it's a lil more expensive but I trust it much more then any other off brand case. You can feel the difference in durability from the China knock off cases and you support American business at the same time. Win Win
I'd be funny it somewhere it would say, Disclaimer: this case is waterproof, not what you store in here.
I think the disclaimer should be, "Warning, this is among the 10% of our Harbor Freight products that actually function as claimed. Not recommended for use by those with heart conditions."
Harbor Freight has really stepped their quality up recently. Those actually seem like decent cases. Plus, everything there has a great return policy.
They also stepped up their prices to match the rest of the market now. Not many noticed their master plan
Harbor freight did not MAKE this case.
Most likely made in the same factory as thousands of other private label brands .
Similar to Pelican at a quarter of the price
I got the same one but it's black. Great case I use for drone gear.
My brother uses a black one of these for his tools that he keeps in his car, we’ve never submerged it but the foam it came with was cool
Even if it wasn’t waterproof, 2 drops of water is aight tbh
Absolutely! For the budget price it is compared to something such as a pelican case, I’m very happy with it!
I mean you’re completely right. Being submerged is a different type of pressure than you’d get from just rain/ brief drop in water. If it was a case you mounted to your truck or just kept outside it would be just fine
I drove from TN to NC in the rain with 4 strapped to the roof and everything stayed dry so I'm happy
Thank you for being useful and not a waste of time. You genuinely are appreciated.
Bought the exact same one at Harbor freight in Alpena Michigan for 2 iPhones because I was canoeing….worked perfect. Worth 40 bucks. Funny thing is I did exactly what you did and I tested it before I put $2000 with the phones in it.
I bought one for Nikon D800 and lenses really happy with it
Thanks for the feedback! I am putting my Canon R5 and drone in it for my canoeing trip because my filmmaker/photographer side of me would hate to have a neat experience without capturing some great scenery.
Damn bro, if only you had a referral link! I'm about to buy a few for my boat
Yeah too bad they don’t have an affiliate link program
They are just at harbor freight
Literally.... Apache case... Harbor Freight... 😜😵💫 $54.99
Google works wonders in this modern world. In the time you typed this comment you could have bought one online
If he had a referral link that would make this video an advertisement, not a review
No bubbles=no water intrusion. I bought one of these about a year ago as a handgun and ammo case. The foamit comes with is customizable for anything that you can fit inside. Quality case, I'm very happy with it.
I fully expected the thing to be full when ya opened it,Bud. Good short.
Us Floridians need them. With all these hurricanes
I keep my little .38 revolver in a case very similar, granted I live in a super dry desert so I don’t think I’ll need that much water proofing, maybe a couple silica packets though!
🤣
Are you trolling I've had a Ruger sp101 my grandpa had that's actually 38 special they only made them in 38 one year before they realized it was strong enough frame to be a 357 so basically I have a 38 that can shoot 357 it's long enough to fit them and strong enough
@@bigpimpen045 no I have a Taurus .38. That’s all it shoots lol
@@dumbdog2924model 85? Me too ☺️
Waterproof is different than submerged. Better than advertised.
Great video. As said before, short and to the point. And that was really smart to wipe the case down before opening.
Honestly I really do like some of Harbor Freights items such as these, they come in great hand. I use a smaller one for bushcraft items, keeps me safe every time so making more home projects out in the woods. Great case for the price, especially with the customizable insert for more delicate items 🤙
This is what shorts should be. Great job!
Thanks! Appreciate it!
Very good tutorial!
Pro tip open the valve after water retrieval but before lid opening. That will reduce the air-sucking
I’ve had these for 4 years now still work great
Needs to be held down by the handle. Placing weight on the case cover actually helps the primary seal to do its job better. This was really only testing the pressure seal.
Been using Harbor freight for years...never disappointed!👍👍
Clear and concise. Simple and easy testing method. 10/10 in my book .
Smart man testing it at home before taking it out to perform.
Just like with a condom.
I love these cases, I try to buy American and buy the pelican cases whenever possible, but for cheaper gear it just doesn't make sense to always buy high end cases and I've had great success with these
I bought a harbor freight gun case. I was astonished seeing that flying from CO to AK it sucked in because it was so air tight. Truly rock solid cases at an affordable price.
Glad things worked out for Rod Flanders. Anything is possible!!!
Thanks for the video!!
SCREECH.
Good job. Nice video. I might subscribe.
Thanks! Cool! 🤙
I see Paul O’Neill
I use this case for my Quest 2, works and fits perfectly. The foam could be better, its perforated into 1×1 squares. Other than that it feels quality and I'm confident it protects what I have in it. Worth every penny.
Perfectly informative. Excellent work!
Those are great. I added saddle bags mounts to them and use them on my motorcycle at work.
I walked into harbor freight and bought on of these cases a few months ago because they were super quality for the price. Still haven’t found my use for it hahahaha but it’s super nice.
I did the same thing, and it's still just sitting in my shed, lol.
They're pretty good as a cigar humidor also.
Good test, great cases.
I like this guy for some reason, first video I’ve seen. Subscribed.
Just bought 2 of these awesome video thanks !!!
Nice straight to the point boi keep ‘em coming
I own two of the smaller, black cases and they're great for the electronics I keep in them.
Thanks for this demo!!!! i have two because i didn’t feel like getting Pelican cases by mail!!!! Watched mine that day!!!! That was early last year!!!! Fast forward to a few days ago!!!!
A place out here in Las Vegas called Town Square (shopping stores and restaurants), driving around to kill time, i see a bunch of Pelican cases inside a store called ColorCase which come to find out, they’re Pelican’s authorized distributor store !!!! Their main headquarters is still in Torrance, California!!!!
This is perfect for my handguns in my boating accident.
The good old HF has some products worth buying. A lot is the same quality or better than some big expensive name brands. Thanks man. I will put this in the brain vault for later escapades. Lol. Keep them coming.
Randomly came across this. I use the same case to store and transport transmitters for my high performance rc cars.
Good to know, this cheap case is actually water tight.
I have one and had an older smaller one. They work really well.
Seems like a good alternative to Pelican case. I will probably still keep my expensive camera gear in a Pelican case when paddling but this would probably work. The valve is for pressure changes. If you are going to travel with elevation changes it helps keep it equalized.
Cool video! I’m gonna have to pick myself up one of these!
Thank you. Always good to have care doing these test for affordable products to be useful
Thank you for doing this!
After owning a Pelican case and then one Harbor freight case of roughly the same size they are both good cases but the Pelican will always come out on top as they are certainly more rigid. I've noticed they are also much more heat resistant when it comes to being left in the hot sun for hours on end.
This has always been one great item Harbor freight has
Thanks for posting. I was looking for a review before I bought one.
Finally a product from Harbor Freight that works!!
Thanks for making this I was considering one but was hesitant due to it being sold at harbor freight
Same cases are sold in Australia under Toolpro branding. Bloody good value, I've got 5 in various sizes.
I like the passive background music
Harbor freight employee here, thank you n i hope u test more harbor freight products cause im genuinely curious how tht products work
Solid empirical review with a study I can see with my own eyes.
Finally an honest non bias review
Thank you for this informative video, you did a great job!
Add a Shrader valve to the bleeder to add a little pressure to prevent a temperature drop from causing any vacuum.
Great video bud.!👍
I've bought a few of these cases for storage of camping gear and first aid supplies. Been good cases near or close to Pelican quality better than one in fact. Over last 25 years I've bought quite a few Pelican cases and few others from rifle and foot locker sizes down to small Otterbox sizes. H. F. has some good products and affordable not everyone needs a the name brand but what works best for their budget and needs.
Great review and straightforward to the point... no b.s.
Hell yea I bought this as a range case and its awesome
Excelente vídeo! Gracias . Estábamos pensando en comprar dos en caso de emergencia! Ya se donde conseguirlos. Saludos .
Im genuinely impressed with the quality information and video ... great job
Thanks! Appreciate it!
A tiny little square of foam over the inside of that hole will catch the water and keep the seal. Could also keep a few silica gel packs in there too for good measure!
I own a few Apache cases and really like them. Keep an eye on Harbor Freight's deal/coupon ads. Different models are literally almost always on sale, and they rotate them regularly. So if you have been wanting say the 3800 case, but you don't need it immediately, there's a good chance it will be $10 or so off within a few weeks.
Excellent, THANKS
Ive used one of these on the river in my raft a good 40 times this summer and they do great
I'm getting these for my pvs7 units thank you for this
Love the enthusiasm
Quality demonstration.
good video thanks professor.. I have a bunch of these cases in different sizes
I got one for my fluke meter and it's accessories, pretty nice.
Great gun case.
I’m more impressed that trash can held water for 30 minutes
I saw the 3800 on sale for $29.99 awhile back and snatched one up right away.
Good test. Was actually considering one of those cases for my pistols.
Nice video Screech.
I've been using apache cases exclusively for the past 5 years and love the shit out of them. I use them for anything that needs good protection
Nice I was actually wondering about these
I have an all in one printer in my case. Along with my Surface Go, chargers and spare ink cartridges. Office on the go!
Oh look my new favorite channel
That's what the valve is for. Prior to opening the latches open the pressure relief valve. That will equalize the pressure.
About to get one for my Graded slabs
Excellent presentation
Knife guy here! Apache is the way to go!
"Mom can I play in the trash can?"
"Yeah, sure."
"Mom I'm hungry"
😯 quick and to the point. Gun case!
I have the exact same case. The pick apart foam isn't the greatest but you can't complain too much. They run sales and I've seen this case (large) as low as $45. It's held up just as good as my pelicans for less than half the price.
Dude looked like he was lifting thors hammer with those bricks.
I have the little clear apache case ... Definitely waterproof and perfect for first aid or fire supplies
Got a few of this works great on the kayak flipped it once everything in there stayed safe and it floats so I didn’t lose anything
I have one of these and always has protected everything I’ve put in it
