Gift Guide For Him The DIYer 2022 - Act Fast!
Had a 4th generation water well driller use these and a tree branch (Y) on my property to locate probable well sites. Haven't drilled yet, so can't vouch for accuracy .. but the family business has been using these for nearly 100 years.
How do you clean the ash from the fire out of the pit with the rock in there as a base?
There's an actual scanner tool that you can buy for about two grand and you can reset the control module. I know a guy who goes and buys all of these cars for really cheap reset some and then drives them away Damn that would piss me off. So before you sell your car for cheap Have your transmission module replaced with a year that doesn't have the problems and reset it with a scan tool
The weight of the block increases the seal pressure... not a good test
Wanting to do this same project. Question. How many bricks did you use?
Seems like its hitting that high draw cutoff. If you can rig up an amp meter to it, maybe see what it's drawing. High draw can indicate that the motor is worn out or damaged. Then again, I don't know what current is normal for that fan. Since these batteries can supply way more current than what's needed by this fan, it may be that the fan itself has protection from high heat/draw. If this thing is no longer suiting it purpose as is, I'd open it up and see what's going on in there. (If you're afraid of breaking it, and it's still useful as is, I wouldn't take it apart)
Thanks for the comment. I did take a look at the circuit board and with my very limited knowledge on anything like that it was hard to really diagnose anything with so many relays etc that it could be. I was able to do a random bypass of something with a wire and trigger it to keep running but im still not sure what the problem part is.
@@TheFixFinder Wow... this video just popped up in my sidebar: ua-cam.com/video/8k4ZwTiEmVs/v-deo.html This video from "Buy it Fix it" has a Milwaukee fan with the exact same issue. He wasn't able to figure out exactly what was wrong in the video, but from reading the comments and the video description, he was able to get the fan to work for about an hour at a time, but it would eventually overheat and shut off. It seems to point to a problem with the motor. Likely bushing/bearing issues causing more rotating resistance, which would increase the current needed to spin the fan that fast. You might be able to feel if something is off with the motor by rotating it manually. In any case, I think it's very likely something is wrong with the motor - it might be worth looking into finding a similar DC motor to replace it with. Those can be relatively inexpensive... the big chore would be finding one comparable in size and spec.
@@derek-m wow thanks for the info! That would be cheaper than a new one for $100
Does it do it with a bog standard 5 Ah battery? Possibly getting to much juice from the 12 Ah HO..
Yeah it’s done it with different batteries. Before the problem I have used it before with a 12.0 to run it all night while camping with no problem.
Milwaukee isnt really known for their durability thats why you see a lot of the users of these tools being very gentle with them.
All of my other milwaukee stuff has worked great
Are you high?
Those 9 letters at the top of the fan!
I knew that reason wouldn’t take long 😂
Anyone found a light replacement kit where the led lights actually lasts long term?
Give me some of your tots Napoleon 😅
Really nice will probably last a solid 10 years before you have to check for weaknesses 1. Dry pour concrete is really not the great. So much to show how weak and brittle it is compared to pre-mixing but it's surrounded by dirt and deep so you may never notice anything for some years. 2. Wood will rot and be destroyed due to the concrete and ground contact. It would last a crazy amount longer if those were braces above the concrete. And placed steel plates in the concrete to support the beams above once it's all dried. Overall still incredible job and for DIY this will do everything and then some for what it's purpose is.
They do work, it’s not a belief. They just work. Obviously there’s better ways to find utilities, but they’re still cool to use.
Nope. It’s 100% pseudoscience.
Great Video !
I work in an old cemeteries and these help me and many other cemetery workers find where the body rests and their direction to restore their stone. I didn’t believe it would work but after feeling more relaxed it started to, it’s really neat and I’m thankful for it! I only use the copper ones with spin handles, and I kind of point them downward a little to make sure they aren’t just swinging around.
My a Fatmax extend the tape out all the way and remove from and transfer to Milwaukee after u removed the junk tape
That what im thinking too I need atleast 6 pcs 500 grit each Total 12pcs

@@TheFixFinder Hey that's awesome 👍
So many pistols at the bottom of rain barrels now
Hi, does it not filter the hot water?
If I remember right from the instructions it states that it is not suppose to have hot water go through it
Thanks, man. I’m trying your fix. Very clever. My Fiesta didn’t mess up until 156,000 miles. The battery died and then the problem started.
Hopefully it works! I imagine it’s getting harder to find that part in a junk yard any more.
Have the 3800 mounted as a top case on the rear rack of my DR650. Have the 2800 on the rear rack of my Tenere 700. Bothe cases have withstood some super hard on and off road miles with tools, insulated water jugs, etc banging around in them. As long as the vent is closed, they get zero dust or water intrusion. 3800 is 6 years old now and sun faded, 2800 has a latch pin that like to back its way out on occasion. Only time they have even been wet on the inside is when the vent punched a pinhole in a 6 pack of beer on my commute home..lol
Original design is always safer
I had this same model for 8 years before it failed. Even used it in my remodeling business. Noisy but did the job.
That's awesome, i have this exact case and always wondered how air tight it actually was
I was impressed
No f-ing way. You get what you pay for, I use “tree bits” everyday at work. I was like you, trying to save a buck, but what you’ll lose in the long run is TIME. Those bits suck ass, spend the money, get you a good set and move on.
They are convenient for homeowners where it wouldn’t be getting daily use and just nice to have on hand for every now and then
No offense, but you’re a damn good looking guy, with a good voice that’s easy on the ears! Your shop looks pretty dang cool and great job with all of your electrical! Gotta have lots of lights and plug ins :)
its just gonna leak no matter what give uo
It not for leak prevention
Making a simple thing harder for the sake of simpler
Whatever makes the job easier and a little less messy
Who changes their own oil? Especially since every Ford dealership has the works package that gets you a rotation, oil change and fluid top offs for $40. You change it yourself for that price.
The people that want to know exactly what’s going in their engine
@@TheFixFinder how do you test at the molecular level? Do you have a high powered microscope?
I went with a 90° elbow drain for that with a locking mechanism. Either way these are better then nothing when it comes to control. Just open the top cap and go do something for 5 min
Yeah, it’s so nice to not have the oil splash everywhere!
I'll be dead by the time it's drained
At least there won’t be a splattered mess all over you
@@TheFixFinder I prefer dangerous freedom to safe enslavement. What good is being clean if I'm dead before this drains out?
Has it finished draining yet?
Only took a few min.
How much easier it is, as he has to use two hands the entire time it drains. Just move the bucket dweeb
You need a warmer engine to change the oil with
🤔
Get yourself a normal plug that aluminum plug won't last😂
I used the normal plastic stock plug up to 80,000 miles and figured I would give this a try. So far I like it much better
Tried it,, didn't love it.
I sure like it a lot better than the plastic one
That looked more difficult than grabbing a wrench
That’s the thing about these junk new plastic oil pans. They come with a plastic oil plug that does not require a wrench.
Cool but I'm not digging an hour for the tool to loosent that set screw
If you don’t have an Allen key just sitting around anyways then you’re probably not changing your own oil
Check description for eBay link
Great video! I am definitely thinking of getting one for my property.
Thanks! It’s a pretty great working cheap option!
Thanks for the vid

72hrs? Try 73hrs!
Enough is never enough for some people 😂
I had a smaller one that was strapped to a tree. It survived a three day flood.
Harbor Freight went from cheap to too expensive, and the quality is not better.
The quality of some of their stuff seems to be better in recent years, but also, what hasn't got more expensive?
