Had a 4th generation water well driller use these and a tree branch (Y) on my property to locate probable well sites. Haven't drilled yet, so can't vouch for accuracy .. but the family business has been using these for nearly 100 years.

There's an actual scanner tool that you can buy for about two grand and you can reset the control module. I know a guy who goes and buys all of these cars for really cheap reset some and then drives them away Damn that would piss me off. So before you sell your car for cheap Have your transmission module replaced with a year that doesn't have the problems and reset it with a scan tool

Seems like its hitting that high draw cutoff. If you can rig up an amp meter to it, maybe see what it's drawing. High draw can indicate that the motor is worn out or damaged. Then again, I don't know what current is normal for that fan. Since these batteries can supply way more current than what's needed by this fan, it may be that the fan itself has protection from high heat/draw. If this thing is no longer suiting it purpose as is, I'd open it up and see what's going on in there. (If you're afraid of breaking it, and it's still useful as is, I wouldn't take it apart)

Thanks for the comment. I did take a look at the circuit board and with my very limited knowledge on anything like that it was hard to really diagnose anything with so many relays etc that it could be. I was able to do a random bypass of something with a wire and trigger it to keep running but im still not sure what the problem part is.

@@TheFixFinder Wow... this video just popped up in my sidebar: ua-cam.com/video/8k4ZwTiEmVs/v-deo.html This video from "Buy it Fix it" has a Milwaukee fan with the exact same issue. He wasn't able to figure out exactly what was wrong in the video, but from reading the comments and the video description, he was able to get the fan to work for about an hour at a time, but it would eventually overheat and shut off. It seems to point to a problem with the motor. Likely bushing/bearing issues causing more rotating resistance, which would increase the current needed to spin the fan that fast. You might be able to feel if something is off with the motor by rotating it manually. In any case, I think it's very likely something is wrong with the motor - it might be worth looking into finding a similar DC motor to replace it with. Those can be relatively inexpensive... the big chore would be finding one comparable in size and spec.

Really nice will probably last a solid 10 years before you have to check for weaknesses 1. Dry pour concrete is really not the great. So much to show how weak and brittle it is compared to pre-mixing but it's surrounded by dirt and deep so you may never notice anything for some years. 2. Wood will rot and be destroyed due to the concrete and ground contact. It would last a crazy amount longer if those were braces above the concrete. And placed steel plates in the concrete to support the beams above once it's all dried. Overall still incredible job and for DIY this will do everything and then some for what it's purpose is.

I didn’t believe it would work but after feeling more relaxed it started to, it’s really neat and I’m thankful for it! I only use the copper ones with spin handles, and I kind of point them downward a little to make sure they aren’t just swinging around.

Have the 3800 mounted as a top case on the rear rack of my DR650. Have the 2800 on the rear rack of my Tenere 700. Bothe cases have withstood some super hard on and off road miles with tools, insulated water jugs, etc banging around in them. As long as the vent is closed, they get zero dust or water intrusion. 3800 is 6 years old now and sun faded, 2800 has a latch pin that like to back its way out on occasion. Only time they have even been wet on the inside is when the vent punched a pinhole in a 6 pack of beer on my commute home..lol
