      I suppose, but they’ll have to go through an entire powerful Dynasty dedicated to defending it, and deal with the fact that they’ve “disrupted the forces of creation” (probably fancy words for tearing the fabric of all reality-remember Breath of God?) which they likely won’t survive themselves.

      Using the term "Necrons" to say this is wrong. One of the dynasties has control over Orrey, not all. And this particular dynasty doesn't use it except in extreme cases to preserve the continuity of things, life, the galaxy, etc... So they're much more likely to use Orrey on Tyranids than on another faction.

    This is a fair evaluation, even with the Celestial Orrery. Remember, their most powerful weapons are divided and separated, and specifically with the Orerry, it’s true military purpose is for info gathering. Using it as a weapon, “upsets the fundamental forces of Creation, setting off a catastrophic chain reaction”. Because I’m certain they’d be playing pong with people’s planets otherwise, and the Dynasty defending it will fight to the last one standing-possibly even if it meant destruction of their entire race. Because when even Necrons won’t deliberately use a weapon because of some unforeseen consequences, it’s probably because *even their permanent death is preferable*

      @Tachyon Sagittarius Well, the Necrons are the bane of the Tyranids but just for now, how should you already know the goal of the Necrons (besides retaking their old territory) is to get back a material body or to get a soul again basically.
      How You Should Also Know: The hive mind is a supremely intelligent entity, so it must most likely be aware of this and logically the numbers of the Necrons they are limited since they cannot reproduce, a species without reproduction is doomed to die, so the hive mind may contemplate the possibility that at some point they will return to resort to an organic body and when they do they will only be one more prey, although this is speculation probably the Tyranids are playing the long term with the Necrons and in case it is not well, it will still happen, since having an organic body is one of the goals of the Necrons.
      Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of the Eldar craftworld and I love the Necrons too but you have to accept that the Tyranids are the biggest danger to the entire galaxy, If with the simple explorers everyone is having problems, imagine when the true Tyranid arm arrives in the galaxy with all its power, we only know the tip of the iceberg and if it is true that that they have already devoured other galaxies that means that they must already have some strategy against non-organic threats, at the end of the day it is most likely that the hive mind has already moved all the chips to win the game.

  • @lorddenithal
    @lorddenithal 2 роки тому +33

    It's either the necron or the Tyranid who will dominate the galaxy in the end. Chaos is powerful, but I don't think they could beat either of two. Chaos is third though. The orks lack coordination or they'd be up there with the necron and Tyranid. The Eldar are dying and would probably go extinct if the other races didn't exist. Ok maybe not, but their a long shot. The only way I'd give them a decent chance is if the dark Eldar fully embraced chaos and then shared in the victory of chaos. That's not likely from what I understand, but it is a way. The tau are far too few. Their only hope would be to ally themselves with some other power. The imperium would only win if the emperor returned. Otherwise they have a worse chance then chaos.
    If the imperium finely does break apart, I'd love to see an alliance form (partly out of desperation and shared goals) between the salamanders chapter, several imperial worlds, a legio of titans and mechanicus, an imperial knight house, the farsight enclave, and an Eldar craft world or splinter group. An unlikely alliance, but theoretically possible. Humans have already joined the tau and it is possible that a minor Eldar faction would join as well. Space marines would only do so if the imperium was disbanded and the salamanders chapter is the most likely to put aside prejudice for the greater good. The titans and knights might just be wishful thinking, but if vulcan returned and was leading the alliance, then he could pull enough weight to convince some more imperial forces to join.
    It's an impossible dream even outside of the lore as it would clearly be a faction made up of good guys which is impossible if the 40k universe. I still hope though as the salamanders and farsight enclave do exist.
    The alliance would have tremendous versatility. They'd probably be even fewer in number than the tau empire, but combining the knowledge of the Eldar, the ingenuity of the tau, and the war capabilities of the imperium (not to mention a primarch) would be formidable.
    The adeptus mechanicus, tau, Eldar, and vulcan could produce weapons of war that would impress even the necrons.

    The thing with Necrons, is that they don't only want to conquest the Galaxy. They want their physical bodies and souls back.
    If they manage to do so, they will became a relatively more easy target to the Chaos and to any other faction in general. And even if they didn't manage to do so, that's mean they are in direct competition with the Tyranids for the biomass. And the Tyranids have way more biomass reserves, inside but also outside the Galaxy.
    So, even if the Necrons still are one of the factions with the best chance of victory, I'd wont put them at 60%, more like 30%. Because, their goal itself implies to put them in vulnerability situation.
    (Also I think that if the Hive Mind really wanted to do so, they could destroy the Necrons by concentrating all their force on the tumb world. However, it would be suicidal to loose such biomass on the only faction who don't give them direct biomass gain ; and in add it would put the Tyranids in a weak situation against any other coordinate faction)
