@@michaelwertzy9808 I totally agree! The poster, unreasonably, gives EVERYTHING away in the description, where a general incomplete synopsis is usually given, if anything, not the entire story in a nutshell. Not good, or typical, and I won't be reading anymore descriptions on this channel, lol.
Alfred Hitchcock made short stories on his tv show "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" which featured 20 min segments including commercials. So altogether, some w/o commercials would be 15 min long lol
I knew I recognized Aaron Gold's face and mannerisms the moment I saw him! He is Barry Gordon, the same actor who played the young attorney, "Gary Rabinowitz" in "Archie Bunker's Place".
Well.. good thing he took the arm off in the very last minute!! 😁👌🏻 Poor kid.. he was eager to show his Dad something special. I just hope he likes it and appreciates it not get dramatic and say things time won't erase. 😣
Barry Gordon was so cute as a kid. I loved him in, A Thousand Clowns, with Jason Robards. He wanted to live with his eccentric uncle and kept changing his name, lol. It was a humorous and touching film. Good episode. 😁
That's the way people are they have their own views and opinions about what's right or appealing or what makes sense to them only giving no thought to others or their feelings or views and if it doesn't seem right or appropriate to them and the other person doesn't agree or have the same view Oh there's something wrong with him or her or them, that child knew exactly what he wanted and what he was doing when he made that sculpture but the supervisor applied his understanding to it therefore labeling it inferior when in all actuality it wasn't but rather a beautiful touching tribute to his dad, good lesson of how people should stop imposing and forcing their thoughts and views on others and try to talk understand and respect the opinion views and feelings of others, understanding is the best thing in the world next to love of course.
very well said sir but people only give priorities to their own thoughts n point of views, thats why legend such like alfred hithcock brought us in a movie form so people watching this can have some sense i mean commonsense n respect others toughts n point of views... tq sir..
Wonderful episode, as I remember the full presentation when I was a kid! My mistake was that I read the 1st part of your synopsis, which is pretty spot-on, but you take away the suspense and MYSTERY!
I so expected that ending!!! Especially when he said, "I wrote my father and told him to meet me at ceramics". I knew instantly Father was his hero and his artwork was a depiction (due to the deliberate '1 arm'). Gosh golly... That was easy peazy
Every kids should respect his father this much. They suppose to give credit to their fathers. A llot of kids respect their mothers but love their fathers. thats not rights. women want to be love. Men want to be respected.
Alfred Hitchcock often made me say "wow, what a surprise ending" This is the only time he made me cry.
In Aaron's eyes, his father is a dragon slayer. Beautiful.
I remember this story. It touched me back then in so many ways. Biggest lesson was to never assume you know what's going on in someone else's head.
What a great story with a perfect ending. Every kid should love his father this much
WOW!!! I did not expect this ending!!!
It's great that you didn't read the unneeded spoiler!

i know right
Now I know why he made only one arm, wonderful story and ending!
My favorite of the whole TV series. Hitchcock used a lot of short stories for his episodes. The short story, here, was written by Philip Roth.
Very cool ending...a real shocker! Ahhhh.
Great ending.
They took their summer camp very seriously back then.
😓 Sweet Story.
Gave Me Chills.
God Bless.💗🙌
I only wish we could watch the entire episode!
that was the entire episode..
@@tammyhjlpere6714 yes it was

That's the great director Sydney Pollack as Uncle Bernie.
Wow
Funnily enough, he played a Broadway director in an episode of the Twilight Zone.
Also appeared as a theatrical director in Twilight Zone ("The Trouble With Templeton") 🎬
and he played an agent in "Tootsie" yay
I didn't see that coming !
amazing yes indeed
I'll never say the word Asphalt again without following it with Blastphalt!
A lot of the rhyming words goes on, I notice it to. The writer uncle George his secretary used a word and rhymed it can't remember the word though.

Oh my heart 😭😭😭😭😭
They used to call these 'water-cooler' endings. At offices the next day they would talk about the ending at the water cooler.

This is one of my favorite episodes because it's heartwarming ❤
Marvelous ending with a marvelous lesson for everyone to learn.
Really good one Mr A Hitchcock
One Arm Father!

Well then I guess the real pleasure was strictly for those of us that didn't expect that ending. :)
Oh my gosh that Sydney Pollack. the director. I knew I recognized him, his voice yet couldn’t place him.
Good shows
Wow, what a great ending! Hate that some adults think they know better than children.
Oh wow ~ Great episode 💕✨
Yeah this is my favorite story.
This is a sweet story. Thank you for sharing this with us. I just keep expecting “Joey Buttafuco over here!”
There was an episode of a father & son at a pool where the boy let his father die in the pool. Does anyone remember this and what was the nme of it?
I think Aaron was doing a statue of his father as the dragon slayer, thus the missing arm. Anyone else catch that?
Who were all the boys played by? I thought 1 was Jay North and another looked familiar.
Why do these videos not start at the beginning ?
because these are only previews to encourage us to buy the DVD set or something similar
I thought it was due to either limited posting time or avoiding being deleted for copyright infringement
That Aron is a great kid.
Loved it. Why are mean dudes always small minded and mean?

Where's even 1/2 a quarter of any UNC L E like above
Barry Gordon was the head of SAG later on.
Ohhhhhh dear!!
Uncle Bernie! Well he should know the boys no arm father since he is uncle..
I rather think that " uncle " is a courtesy title of the male adults working in this summer camp.
@@brianrodney712 your right. He called Lefty. Uncle lefty. ...hid dad had only a left arm
❤️
Loves you babe
