Just for info, they just update the board and this Keyboard is now hot swappable. For the price it's very cool!
Thanks for the info!
I'm thinking on getting one, but I wonder if Amazon has the new or previous batch.
@@zNoah They have the new batch, im just wondering if its optical or mechanical.
@@yourweeklyuploader93 Looks mechanical to me. They are RK branded.
Where do you buy switches for it or can you use cherry red switches
Great review, appreciate the hard work that went into the detailed breakdown of the RK68!
I didnt know about this. I’d pick this up. Im quite satisfied with my RK61, but I realized that I need something with dedicated arrow buttons. Now this is something I need
Wow this channel has become so much better! It looks more professional.
Glad you think so!
Need some thocc amsr before the full review
So I got a quick question with the rgb it seems on some of them it doesn’t work and I’m hoping mine will have rgb
Well I guess not really a question
@@zurkley yo it comes with different option that you can choose
I never liked my RK61 when I first got it but it's grown on me. I love it now. Love the mini form factor and minimalistic styling. Drivers are a little buggy to get working but once it's set up it's fire.
Thanks for sharing!
I love this keyboard. I bought the RK G68. I love the red switches that it comes with as they are little heavier than Gateron Reds. I personally like the asthetic of the RK 61, but I can't live without arrow keys and Del/PgUp/PgDn.
What the diffrence between rk68 and rk g68
@@jakubmatecki9583 ik I'm a bit late but I'm pretty sure the rk g68 has a usb 2.6 ghz connector, a usb hub on the back, and only for an extra 10 or so dollars.
@@jakubmatecki9583 also it is hot swappable, meaning you can remove the switches without a de-soddering gun, and its battery life is double of the original
me too im choosing right now between RK61 and RK68 - the arrows are deal breakers for me
@@blockednostril5962 both keyboards are hotswappable. Idk if you knew that but it sounded like you were only talking about the g68.👍
Love these time stamps! Thank you.
You are so welcome!
Thanks for the recommendation. I decided to get one of these as my first mechanical 65% and I'm really impressed. I've got blue switches on mine, and they sound and feel awesome.
Nice!
Are they super loud?😅
@@tonyrobles5499 Yes they are loud, but feel and sound sooo satisfying. Kind of ASMR, but obviously YMMV.
What about the lifetime pf the keyboard?? Does it last long enough??
What you think of the blues after a year? I loved them at first but DESPISED them in about 6 months lol
This really helped me because i was hesitating to buy it but you really showed me every feature it gives me and a good look what are pros and cons i really enjoyed this and i hope many people can support you because this video was absolutely amazing! ❤
I'm glad I could help!
Your videos are so enjoyable to watch! Amazing job
love the background jazz and lounge music!
Thx
i literally just got my rk61 today and the keebs sound is therapeutic
My K552 was causing Problems after a couple of Months. Ghosting on the Spacebar/D Key, got sick of it and returned it and bought a K68 on your Recommendation. So far it's Amazing it being a hot swappable keyboard makes it even better! Looking forward to Modding it myself in the Future :)
Great video! I appreciate how you segmented it
I appreciate that!
I LOVE the music you pick for your Videos
not sure if the keycaps are different between models, but the red 68 (TTC) sounds nicer than the red 61 (Outemu) to me
Great video!
Torn between this and k6 hot swappable. This sounds like the best bang for the buck. Looks like k6 is better for the long term but the keyboard height is holding me back.
What did you buy in the end? I am torn between both as well and I want to change the switches to tangerine but I found a comment here that said the tangerine switches don’t fit in the RK so….
Your vids took got me to buy soldering rods and leads to modify my own keyboards!!! thanks alot
i got the gateron red variant of this keyboard and it surprised me with the nice stock typing experience! the stabilizers were prelubed and sounded really good. i did add foam and lube into the switches and now it sounds even better.
Thanks for sharing!
Is the keyboard hot swappable
@@ibarelywatchyoutube4079 old model didnt but the new model is hot swappabble watch consumer tech review video on unboxing of rk68 and in his description he has the link to hotswapabble version (new one)
@@ibarelywatchyoutube4079 yes, it is hot-swap but some switches don’t fit due to the plate.
This video was super helpful to me in finally deciding to get this board. I've read that the PCB has bulging LEDs that make some switches incompatible, do you know if that interferes at all with Cherry Profile keycaps? Thank you so much!
I just got the RK68 wired (detachable USB C) variant of this keyboard. The RGB is much brighter than shown in the video, though that may have been settings or lighting for the camera. Also on my keyboard there are no physical markings for switching mac/win nor macro labeled keys but the functionality is there. I like this as it's a cleaner look. Currently the software for the RK68 is just a splash screen (go figure). The RK71 software can be used, there are more steps of brightness but actually setting it to brightest will not make it any brighter than out of the box (at least for me) and it is hard to compare setting in software and then keystroke setting as they seem to just override each other (they are not in sync and the software dose not update if you change it on the keyboard). Anyway, the max 5 keyed setting is brighter on mine. I have the sudo Blue switches and they are nice to type on (I am on macOS 11) but confusing as in the manual it says "Optical" switches. Overall I like the keyboard but think it is overpriced. The company makes many variants including a new one with hot-swappable switches, bluetooth, RF, and USB ports but they mixed it up in a bad way like giving it only 2.4 bluetooth. I don't know what is up with that :/
Is it still working?
Just found your channel, I really appreciate your work and your kind personality :) keep going🤘
Thank you! Will do!
Love your videos :)!
I just discovered your channel...I've been looking to try a mechanical keyboard. Amazing reviews!
Thank you!
just ordered it . im hyped ab it
Finally. Thank you
You're welcome
As a developer, I would say the Rk68 suits me better. I initially got the RK61 but realized that I work with the ? and / symbols a lot, so I returned it and got the RK68 instead. I love how it feel so far.
hi i got question are u not able to use the ? or / keys? how do u use them because idk if i should buy the rk61 if it doesnt use ? and /
@@ZayyanAmir7MU Those symbols are actually integrated into the up arrow key (you can search for the RK61 image for more info). They are usable but required some toggling between regular keys and arrow keys, which takes extra effort from me while I need to access them more frequently. If you don't use them as much, I think you should get it.
@@ZayyanAmir7MU you can, that dude toggled the arrow key on all the time. What you need to do is press Fn + Enter to turn off arrow key.
Is it working fine now?
I just picked up the RK84 a month ago and could use some help. I use it wired but it takes forever to connect to my PC on start up. My switches are set to off but it goes through a routine of trying to wirelessly connect Everytime I boot it up (and press a key to wake it up). Only eventually switching to USB once it gives up on wireless..is this normal?
Just bought the rk68 and they’re great for the price!
RK seems to buy whatever switches are cheapest at the time of re-supply, as they have used Kailh, Gateron, Jixian, Outemu. Apparently Kailh makes the RK branded switch.
is there a source for 'kalih makes RK branded switch'? thanks
To be fair the whole purpose of buying hot swappable keyboards are to pick and choose your switches, so them getting the cheapest switches is probably a good thing since it also lowers the price of the product.
hmmmm i need to ask, can i switch to outemu switches for rk68 specifically? been planning to get this keyboard and also planning to change the switches to outemu... i dont even know if outemu switches can replace the switches cuz ppl usually replace TTC switches with either cherry mx or gateron switches...
damn. as a linear user, i really like the crisp blues ttc switches sounds
Amazing - deserves a sub :D
Love ur channel.
Thanks!
Typing this on an RK68. Absolutely loving this keyboard. Smooth like silk, my favourite to type on right now. Just perfect.
What switch are u using?
can you use it wired? or do you need to use it only in bluetooth. I prefer wired for input lag
@@JaddyOG u can use it wired
Randomly bought this and saw if you reviewed it. I like it more than the k3!
Thanks for the review!! it helped me a lot, im gonna buy this kb and sub to you
Thanks for the sub!
i love your channel..so sincerly
Nice video! You earned a like
I appreciate it!
She used to be so shy in her videos now she screams the heck out and I love it
I wish someone would do a review of the updated version of the rk68 on Taobao, the rk387. I think it comes with a better battery (3180 mAh), a detachable frame, and cherry mx switches
I just picked this board up & did an unboxing. I'm not as experienced in this at the moment so if they want more details I've left them a link to visit your channel for more info.
Thanks so much!
Thank you very much, I've been waiting for this review. Will you reviewing the reviewing the other RK G68/ RK 837 keyboard? It's almost identical to this keyboard but it has a removable top cover and I think it also has a bigger battery.
Probably not. But we will be reviewing the S68 which is an RK68 with optical instead of mechanical switches...someday
I was hoping for this as well. Just saw the 837 but I can't see any discussion about it unfortunately.
thank you!! i lost my manual and my BT disconnected lol great help with reconnecting my BT
For anyone getting this keyboard for hot swapping the switches: there may be a chance it doesn’t actually fit because the pcb lights are a bit to high so some switches may not fit
I did find out the unfortunate way
Do you mean they physically don't fit or just scuffed lightning?
@@OK-ri8eu my c3 tangerines physically could not fit because of the pcb lights
Does the gateron switches work?
Do cherry mx switches fit?
@@SweetMelaninn he prob wont know since he only has the tangerines
Hi, does the caps lock key stay lit when pressed?
Will you be seeing the 2021 version by any chance? and if so will you be making a review on it?
I've watched so many of your awesome videos. I just got the RK 65% -- and I'm back now listening to your typing samples. Switching from a laptop keyboard (years) to this with brown switches, I'm feeling "meh" about the feel typing.... whole thing sounds hollow. Trying to sort out if blues would feel better (or just be noisier). You do a great job with your reviews and demos!
Great review! Mine just arrived today (no manual unfortunately, and nothing to be found on RK's website). Do you know if it's possible to switch between wired/wireless mode without toggling the switch on the bottom?
Thanks in advance!
Can you replace them with cherry red mx and if you can what type of cherry's and where can I get some. Also is it compatible with ps4
I love you asmr. Im here revisiting this video to listen to your voice rather than your keyboard
OMG i just bought this keyboard cause the other one cancelled and i am buying this now so i’m here hehe
Is there a way to prevent the lights from turning off? I noticed they turn off after not being used for a couple of seconds :( Also, sometimes they just suddenly turn off and won't reappear unless I turn off the Bluetooth and turn it back on.
I have the 75% version model RK84 in black.
1. the rgb LEDs are too dark.
2. the removable frame looks cheap and thin
3. the top plate is white that looks ugly when you take off the frame.
Are there better alternatives?
I just bought this from Amazon so thanks for the review. Hopefully my version, as claimed in the ad, has hot-awappable switches. I saw a few reviews on there that said theirs was soldered. Also heard its impossible to find warranty info. Oh well. Hope mine lasts after 30 days
How much did u buy it for?
Mine has a cover on the back and its blocking the blue tooth twich how do i take it of
Is there anything better than this for less? I prefer red switch keyboards and I don’t care about the size or being wired.
Hi im choosing between this and k6, does this keyboard not have function such as adjust volume, media keys(pause, next, previous). I use those a lot.
These keyboards are pretty good for modding. I got the RK61 got to do lots of modding at low cost
What mods do you do?
Is there a review for the RK84?
Sick Keyboard I'm thinking of picking it up! Just one question, does the rk68 have a software? For like rgb, macros, etc. I'm just wondering since the rk61 has a software. Thanks!
How can you be sure that it has indeed bluetooth 5.1? Can't find that info anywhere in the official Royal Kludge page.
how does this compare to the RK G68 which has a larger battery? also have you noticed any bluetooth issues where keystrokes get missed?
I have a red light stuck under my space bar how do u fix this?
i purchased a few of these because i really enjoyed the first one i bought. My first one came with gateron swiches but the others came with ttc and their own rk switch. it was a little bit disappointing. Consistency is my only problem with their keyboards
was there a huge quality difference between the switches?
Does this keyboard come in only with the blue light backlit option? I ordered one but I think I picked only blue light option that they had on the RK61
Great VIdeo!
Will the white plastic on RK keyboard turns yellow over time?
I just revieced the RK71 and while everything about it is fine for the price, i'm returning it because there is zero support for multimedia keys on windows 10. Software and firmware updates don't change this, and the other thing is there is no reprogrammable second layer. What a shame, if the media keys worked I would have been happy with it.
Cool, I checked this out when I was looking for my first! Some really crazy prices out there if you can get over switches and other shortcomings. Usually budgets have nice features like this 1 though so it kind of offsets.
Very cool!
how do you stop this keyboard from going into sleep mode after 1minute in bluetooth mode?
hey betty .. may I have the shots of the manual for this keyboard.. cuz i get the e-manual and it is not functioning... so I am unable to use all the features that the keyboard provide for me :(
Chinese Taobao has now RK68 option with Cherry MX switches (no hot-swap). Bought one for 45 USD and MX Reds, hope it will be good.
I have the RK G68 and the Fn key wont stop from flashing green, what could be the problem?
i cant change the color can sum 1 help me plzzz my color is only blue and i wanna change it
I was strongly considering this or the DIERYA 65% keyboard when I was first starting out in the hobby... but decided to spend a little more and get the Durgod Hades 68 instead 🐙
is the hades hotswap?
@@martin1649 Unfortunately no... that would make it one of the best entry keyboards, for sure
If you don’t mind me asking what’s the maximum length the keyboard supports?
i never get why these tiny compact keyboards never swapped FN key and Windows key on default, i mean the fn are highly utilized while gamers dont want to accidentally press the Win key too or even lock the win key so swapping fn key to the left side will allow tons better function controls while one handed
I think the CNC aluminum version of the board looks great. I will be picking one up very soon. I expect it will need some work to get what I want out of it, but it's inexpensive enough for what it is.
The pro model is on a limited time flash sale at Amazon for $60. I just bought two :)
Which one would you recommend? RK68 or Keychron K6 ?? I want your thoughts.
Great video. Can you make a comparison between this and the hyperx alloy origins 65? Or say which one you'd prefer?
how do i access the number keys on the rk 68 when i try to use them it does the secondary function like turn the volume up tor down
Hi ma,am, can I still use the software for macro on this? like the software used on rk61?
Does this board have software where i can assign keys (like make a key adjust the volume)
Thanks
Listening a blue switch today it's like listening our teenage favorites musics, you ask yoursef how could you possibly like that before.
So I bought this keyboard, but when I press q and w at the same time, it inputs tab as If I clicked tab even though I didn't. Does anybody know what could be wrong? Same goes for A and S inputting caps lock if hit at the same time, and it just keeps going down, Same with Z, X, and Shift, 1, 2, and Esc, etc.
Im going to get this for my birthday
Hi.. Betty & Jack.
I really need your recomendation here.
I recently looking for a full size mechanical keyboard that has a 2,4ghz dongle.
do you have any recomendation?
I do really need the numpad, and i need my keyboard connected wirelessly using 2.5ghz usb dongle.
Because according to many reviewers, bluetooth connection are not that stable.
It would be very helpful if you can recomend me a few option.
Thanks in advance.
I found the way to adjust media functions on Windows. You firstly need to lock number by pressing Fn Left Ctrl, and after that you're able to use media by pressing Fn + F7/8/9/10/11/12
what about mac - does anybody know?
I got this board recently and whenever I press a and d or a and s (depending on the mode) it presses caps lock. I'm not sure whether this is a hotkey or not, does anyone know a fix or a way to remove this?
Really late but I wanted to ask - on Amazon the RK68 says it’s hotswappable. Is that true? Which switches could I replace it with? Idk if you’ll see this but if you do, I would really appreciate insight. Thanks! Awesome video and channel btw. The site is also very professional!
i honestly am having trouble with this myself, but this keyboard is indeed hot swappable. with anything that’s 3 or 5 pin, but i’ve heard that the leds bulge out from under the switch, so you have to get switches that have a rectangle gap under the switch itself that can accommodate the led and fit, on some descriptions of keyswitches sometimes they should say if the keyswitch accomadate leds, like “support for flush and certain protruding leds” and if the keyswitch doesn’t work it should say “protruding leds will not fit with bottom housing” or something like that, hope this helps
ttc switches are pretty well known on mouse , i changed my mouse scroll encoder to ttc for the super tactile feel.
cat cameo
i have this keyboard know why does the capslock turning on when i press the ASDF keys at the ssame time?
I just got this in the mail today. I tried connect via blue tooth and via wire connection and it won’t connect. With a wired connection it shows on my Bluetooth devices on pc, but still won’t type. Any ideas?
bom saber! :) eu comprei um, chega amanhã. estou super animada rs
Where can I buy key caps for this keyboard? I am not sure what type of key caps should I buy for this?
Nice video! Thanks
i can’t find this one on amazon anymore? the only rk68 i saw there are either wired with rgb lights or wireless with only blue lights
where can i get some keycaps for this keyboard ?
Where can I get the manual? I can't find it anywhere at the rk website
i ordered this yesterday
