your videos made me feel so good, really relaxing, like...peaceful. thank you
Thank you for replying. I’m very glad to know that. :D
Jeez all this underrated keeb-related channels just keeps getting in my feed
thank you. i am glad you like it. :3
i still dont know much about mech keyboards but stayed through the video anyway. the improvement in the sound and typing experience is superb wow and i like the color of the keycaps too! excited to receive my keyboard in the next couple of days bcs of this vid
i hope you had a prefect journey with you keyboard. :3 thank you.
This is a slick video and keyboard mod - really enjoyed watching!
thank you for watching. :D
this is the keyboard i wanna get in the future! This video is very helpful! I've never seen someone put foam under the spacebar, great job!
i recomend you a rk84
i love this video so much, not many youtuber could make the video this slow for us to mod our keyboard.
Thank you!
thanky you.
i wish i could make the videos that’s easy to understand and also follow step-by-step for all my audience. :3
The music and the lighting in this video was extremely relaxing 🤍
Thank you. :)
i enjoyed this video a lot. That spacebar mod sound interesting and is the first time I've ever seen it. A lot of the bigger channels don't mention it too, i might give that a try
thank you. i hope it’s useful in your case. :3
Great work.
Really glad for this kind of video.
Keep it up
Dude you are underrated asf. Keep it up
you already know i liked, watched the whole video and now comment
you deserve more fame, these videoes are relaxing as hell, love you man.
i dont know how people use keyboards like that stock, literally hurt my ears haha
Thanks bro! Love you too. ♡ ♡ ♡
Thank you for supporting me. I will keep doing my best. THANK YOU!
My RK61 Pro doesn't sound that bad, but it still needs some mods.
Nice video; enjoyed the Lo-Fi tracks.
I just got the RK61 delivered a few days ago and I love the keyboard; it's my second mechanical keyboard (I have a full-size Razer Huntsman which friend gifted me). I'm looking to do my first basic mod with the RK61 so that I can get it less 'clicky/hollow' sounding and more clacky/thocky sounding. This tutorial is above my skill level, however it was an enjoyable and insightful watch.
This is a nice one. I've been looking for a nice mod. Your is the best I've seen.
Thank you for replying. :D
it’s a really nice sound, great job
thank you. :3
your stabs sound so fire
music was so nice I actually forgot that I was watching a keebs video lmao, great vid hoping for more uploads soon
thank you so much. i hope i could upload video more frequently too. :$
I love ur thumbnails keep up the great work!
yeh. thanks!
Nicely done!!👍👍👍
very relaxing video :) keep it going!
Thank you. :)
this video is so relaxing i forgot why i was watching
Haha thanks, so why were you watching for. :D
Love the video, bought this board because you showed that you could mod it to sound nice. Cheers!
Awww! Thank you for the positive response. :) Hope you enjoy your board too. Cheers!
@@swampwcat I'm following your mods right now, and am just left with some stabilizer mods and switching out the switches. Do you have any tips on the holee mod?
Sorry for that I got the keyboard mixed up. :p Make sure you have clean up all the factory lube! It would be hard to place on band-aid if the lube remains. Enjoy! :)
I am researching mechanical keyboard and chance upon your channel and watch the entire video! Now I may want to learn how to mod it 😂
i wish you all the best with your mechanical keyboard adventure (rabbit hole). 😝
video that's worth to subscribe!! keep it up man
thank you. i will do my best! keep going! :)
Great video! I am suuuuper almost convinced to try modding my keeb for the very first time. I've been watching so many videos and came across yours. After watching, I feel as if I can do it 'cause you make it look so easy! Any tips?
I fell love with this video
awesome mod aside, the gator plush is so cute watching u work !!
haha yes he is. thank you. :)
Those keycaps are gorgeous
yes. love it. :)
Nice video, so many people using the gateron pro yellow, it’s hard to find a video about the red version, many thanks
I prefer red and don’t know why. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Going to make a sound comparison vid between these 2 switches soon. :D
@@swampwcat i think that 5g and bottom out force matter, anyway, yep keep going i think your videos r good
New subcriber bro very calm and relaxing
thank you. :3
Awesome vid!
Thank you. :)
I already mod my RK68 similar to this but a sec a go I just know that the puller at the top is for keycaps and the (sharp) one is for the switches. I use the sharp one for both keycaps and switches 😂😂😂 I didn't know the one above can be split up to be keycaps puller LOOLLL 🤣🤣🤣 thankyou!
this vid is extraordinarily under rated
Thank you so much. :D
@@swampwcat np i am really looking foward to getting this on christmas. i will put holy pandas and monochrome pbt keycaps. i wll also add foam mod and other stuff
best budget mods i've ever seen tho. definetely will try that spacebar foam mod. btw what kind of foam that u used both for pcb and spacebar?
cant wait to do this on my rkg68!!!
RKG68 probably sounds better than my RK68! have fun! :D
Hey! Reaaaaally nice video. Want this keyboard even more now. Thanks for an easy to follow step by step. I have a question tho, why clip the legs? Are the keys too high bc of the foam?
E: googled and found that these legs hit the pcb or whatever creating noise, for anyone else wondering.
Haha, yes that’s right. It’s not necessary to do it. I’d like to try not clip the legs in my next build btw. :p
aren't you both Russians? however, as I am.
@@slavic_commonwealth what? i am not
@@user-qs7dp6yb2x I saw cyrillic letter in your nickname,
automatically thought you were Russian.
sorry)
@@slavic_commonwealth neither am i haha. :p
WOW! big difference
The stock RK red switches sound so clicky. I even suspect I bought the blue switches. Haha.
this dude's pinky when he types I swear
Amazing
thank you. :)
Hi, very cool video, can you tell me where you bought keycaps?
Thanks for the video, really helps me when i disassemble the board. For the o-ring i use 2 stack of them and leave the middle top and bottom screwless. it add some flex to the board lol.
Amazing video! Love it. Could you also make a modding guide for RK71?
oh no. i need to say sorry. i don’t have budget to buy a RK71. :C
@@swampwcat it's okay. I wish your channel grow faster and get a lot of views so that you can create more contents without having budget issues.
oh thank you. you’re so sweet.
Nice video, I recently got this keyboard and I'm looking forward to apply some mods, where did you get the aluminum plate?
Thank you. :)
I bought this keyboard that came with aluminum plate in stock. I thought it’s all pre-builded with aluminum plate, didn’t it?
@@swampwcat Neah these are too heavy and stiff for aluminum. Most likely steel or some type of alloy.
可乐蛙的润轴套装我也买了,超级好用!
love it so much. :D
Hi, whats the difference between the o-ring mod and the o-ring mount? i know the mount is to give is a 'gasket' feel, but what about the o-ring mod on the pcb?
Wooooaaah can you link me specifically to the keycaps please
Nice video, whats the reason behind clipping legs from the stabilizers?
Thank you. :)
The little legs usually hit the PCB and creating some noise. I’m not a professional, but you can check out Hamaji Neo’s video, he had explained it clearly. Here’s the link: ua-cam.com/video/-vhpHjlkRgQ/v-deo.html
Another video that Taehe Types showed us how he mod his stabs and the purpose of clipping stabs. That’s also a must watch video when you’re going to mod your stabs. Here’s the link: ua-cam.com/video/cD5Zj-ZgMLA/v-deo.html Enjoy! :)
where did you get the oring box with the screws?
i have a similar macbook set up like yours, nice. Kinda similar laptop stand then my keyboard is rk g68 👍☕️
and similar keyboard haha. how’s the G68? i noticed that there are different versions after i got mine.
@@swampwcat i don’t know much about keyboards but it’s good, it has 2 usb-a and 1 usb-c. 3 connection modes, bluetooth, 2.4 ghz dongle, and wired mode.
RK G68 is the newest RK68 keyboard. kind of better than mine. :3
but both are good.
i have ordered mine and will do some of the mods, but a lot of other modders used the case foam mod as well, is there a reason u didn't do it?
Can you cover how you did the orings a little better. May talk about how you got them to stay.
it actually didn’t stay well. so i removed all the rings on this board. and it doesn’t sound that bad than i thought. i’ve mentioned it on my new vid. ua-cam.com/video/7t0mhd_Qxdo/v-deo.html
Good video. BTW I can never type with my pinky fingers lifted like that.
haha i’m training my weaky pinky now. :D
Nice vid! Hope you can put the links in the description:)
Thanks. :) What links?
@@swampwcat Of the products u used for the mods:)
Yes, thanks for advising me. I’d consider doing it. :D
Wow.
^w^
I heard that in the tempest tape mod, the tape comes off after 1 day?
is that true?
What could the leg clipping mod be for?
Idk why those first 50 seconds I was dying laughing from those failed attempts at getting the keycap off
haha i was embarrassed then. was thinking of re-record the video or keep on. lol
what did you use as the bandaid for the stabilizers?
Btw great video Bro got a sub from me :D
It’s telfon tape. I got this tape with my lubes. Decide not do waste it. :D
Thank you for supporting me. :)
Btw bro can i ask the size of the O ring you used cuz im planning on buying them but im scared that it may not fit...
@@harrycastillo5116 It’s 4x2mm, but actually it’s too small. It fits but also easy to break. After I bought it I realized that the inside diameter is only 0.4mm (way too small)(2mm means thickness by my seller)(yes I am stupid ¯\_(ツ)_/¯). The bigger one that I can get is 6x2mm and the inside diameter is 2mm. I think this size might be better than the one I have, but haven’t buy it yet. Must make sure the inside diameter not too small before you buy one. :p
cool video! will probably buy one of these soon.
by the way can you give me a link for the foam if you can please?
i’m sorry. it’s just some cheap foam i bought it from grocery store. pe foam might be better. :)
@@swampwcat oh ok !
Hello!!! Just found your vid… was wondering if you also got a problem with the S letter. Mine is broken.
ah. i don’t. have you tried to reinsert the switch? or maybe reset the keyboard system?
Hi, do alpaca v2 switches fit on this keyboard? I heard the led bulges out so I’m confused if it can actually can fit.
Merry Christmas!
On, I don’t have any alpaca v2 switches, so I don’t know that actually. It’s my dream switches but kind of expensive to me. This PCB does support 5-pin switches tho. :)
I like your crocodile doll 🐊
thank you. :)
For lubing the stabilizers, Is it fine if I use permatex lube ? because that was the lube wildcat used for his mod. just wondering
yes! it does. but i saw most of people use permatex for the wires only.
Nice mod! Can I get a link where you have purchased your mount phone holder?
you mean tripod?
i'm using Bosch BT150.

Pinkies out baybee
my little pinkies don’t want to work. :3
where do i get the key caps from?
Nice mod video! The budget boards can become amazing with the right attention!
You are losing a ton of typing speed though because neither pinky hits any keys.
thank you. :)
all the things that my little pinkies have done is… stay on my hands and doing nothing. haha. :P
between gateron pro milky yellow and ktt red wine, which switch is more clacky?
milky yellow imo.
I’m going to get this board for Christmas but I just wanted to know if anyone could send me a link to polycarbonate plates that fit this board? I heard they sound nice with tealios
Sorry for that I really don’t know where could buy the polycarbonate plate for RK68. I hope you find out soon. Merry Christmas. :D
Do we only need to poke 1 hole for each switches on the foam? What about holes for the metal pins?
because of my foam is too thick. so i must to poke the holes. but if your foam isn’t that thick maybe you don’t have to. and the pins are fine. just make sure to insert they straight into the pcb. :)
where did you buy your o rings
I had the same problem with the keycaps and switches
yyyyyes. that’s hilarious. :D
That left pinky wants to fly away
Don’t~ don’t fly away I need my pinky so much~ haha~
when a member of royal family types: with the pinky straight
Haha yes I know my pinky looks awkward when I’m typing. :P
Nice build. Do you have the exact name of the keycaps they look awsome.
it’s from a Chinese company called “愛菲外設”.
i bought them on taobao. but it’s unavailable for sale now. here’s the link: m.tb.cn/h.fP2I2OE?sm=111294

I just noticed this at 8:10. What's the black thing under your Macbook Pro?
it’s my USB hub. :3
@@swampwcat 😆 I thought it was some kind of cooling fan
Because of the speed and lack of narration and detail, noobs like myself will need to do some more research. I have the RK61 Pro with red Gaterons and PBT keys, and while mine sounds better as stock, I would love to have the sound you accomplished and hopefully cushion the bottom-out. I'll look for more detail and explanation in other videos. I do appreciate the walk-through though. I'll save it and refer back.
I thought you want to adding more dampener on bottom of the case, but anyway nice video
actually i found out that the thick pcb foam that i’ve used in this video is more suitable as a case foam. haha. thank you. :D
@@swampwcathi! i know im a year late lol but may i know what is the thickness/mm of the pe foam you used?
can you please do a sound test with lubed rk red switches cuz i have the same board
Oh! This was actually not on my plan list, but I’ll do it for you. :) May take some time, because I’m a lazy person (shh).
@@swampwcat its alrit i have done it
Could you please link those keycaps with Russian legends? I myself am Russian and still struggling with blidntype, so I could really use some high-quality PBT ones with legends in my native language haha. Really nice video btw, keep up the good work!
even if i got the Russian symbols on my keycaps. i still don’t know how to type in Russian. haha. :3

How did north facing pcb fit cherry profile keycaps
They do fit cherry profile keycaps but will make a harsh bottom out feel
Where do I get these keycaps
bro you good? youre holding your pinkies up during typing. you can relax, ive already liked your video.
Haha yes I’m good, probably a little bit nervous during shooting. Maybe my pinkies always look this weird when I was typing. :D Thank you.
what tape did you use for the holee mod?
It's telfon tape.
What is the tape that u used for holee mod?
It’s teflon tape.
Is the Corsair K65 RGB MINI 60% good
oh i don’t have that one i really don’t know. sorry.
hi from russia, thanks for using my grandma's keycaps
haha hello! wait… so.. what kind of keycaps do you guys using now? no more Russian root?
ahahah no, many people use russian root but i am not, only english, it looks more aesthetic idk:D
same here! people in my country use bopomofo keyboard but i don’t. i like to have same other language symbols on my board like japanese or russian i think it looks cool haha.
You can try tape mod.
yes, i did tempest tape mod on this keyboard and love how it turned out. :)
try flipping the space bar thats how mine thocced
I am looking for a custom keyboard build and this is what I have so far, I came to you as your videos are really nice, and you are really underrated, any suggestions.
Requirements:
TKL or 65% ( Must have arrow Keys basically )
Must not have any odd colors, only black and white.
Must be hot swapabble, I want to lube and tune switches and the stabliezers, and the entire keyboard.
Must include a wrist rest. ( I wasn't using a wrist rest for the past 4 months, and I can feel tingly and burning in my hands already. )
Price range: 120- 170 U.S.D 200 maybe
And that's all this is the list I have come up with:
Rk68 or the YUNZII KC68
Akko WOB PBT keycaps
Akko Vintage white switches
Razer Wrist Rest
Your list sounds very nice bro. I'm not familiar with YUNZII KC68, but I'm sure that RK68 is pretty worth for the price. For the budget keyboard I also recommend you Tester68/CIY68 (about $15-30) and TM680/LK67 (about $60-80). I bought those 2 boards but don't have time to mod them yet.
For the switches, I don't have any Akko switches but it's quite famous budget switches. If you are looking for linear switches that KTT red wine (about $0.22/piece) would be another good chioce imo. It sounds so thock after some lubing. Here's the sound test: ua-cam.com/video/eTv0LYGpeTc/v-deo.html
And the keycaps yes Akko yes! People in my country make fun of Akko say that it's a keycaps company making good quality of keycaps but average level of keyboard haha.
I hope it helps and enjoy your keyboard. :)
If tou 2qnt a custom, you can get the kbd67 lite from kbd fans
@@thinklegend7775 - Won't that eat a lot of his overall budget? For a $160 build, with good quality switches, keycaps, stabs, etc., I'm not sure KBD67 for about $120 is the right choice. It just wouldn't make enough difference to the sound profile to justify the much higher price.
@@kuyt20 well I can't seem to find a better choice for that price, in fact, I don't even know a keyboard for that price
@@thinklegend7775 - While finding good quality switches and keycaps for a total of $40 including shipping is possible, its going to be damn hard depending on where he lives.
If he is not adamant about south-facing switches, he can go for the LK67 and get long stem switches to eliminate possible cherry profile interference.
Just wondering is it the RK855 or the RK837?
it’s RK855!
Друг, где можно приобрести эти кейкапы?
Does it support 5pin gatreon mechanical switches?
Sure! It does. :)
