Very subtle thing but that for sure makes it way easier! Also, make sure the cam buckle is on the same side of the tree as your climbing sticks. It's super challenging to crank that strap down when the buckle is on the other side of the tree!
I have an Air Raid, two Maximus, & two Air Raid Evolution stands. You can buy the 3 pack brackets (save some $$$ with the 3 pack) for these stands. Hang the bracket, pull up the stand, slip it in the bracket, add the two original straps for added security. I have been hanging stands for over 30 years, & this is the easiest, best set up I have used. My 6th bracket went to my brother for him to try out with a new Air Raid Evolution this fall. Not saying this clip isn't helpful, but I love adding/using the brackets.
only thing is when you shorten them the metal piece bangs off your stand. I always have them long enough where they will not touch my stand while climbing !!
Do you prefer the air raid to the smaller lighter XOP hang on? I hunted all season from the lone Wolf assault and really liked it but am trying to decide between the two XOPs for my bear baits and for additional public stand sets for deer usually over a half mile in. I can’t get the assualt for what I paid last year. If I had one critique after sitting a lot in the assualt , it would be that in the late season with a lot of clothing on and big boots (all day sits) the stand is a little cramped but that’s a very minor complaint. IDK? Any input would be appreciated. Love your vids on stands and sticks you’ve done over the years
i really like the vanish from top for size its done plenty of all day sits with me ... what size are your boots? or are they super cold pack boots ? i am 6' 1''and stand most of the time ... the vanish also cost less and you see them for sale used a good amount
Thanks for the response. I’m pretty set on buying the Vanish. I’ve been doing quite a bit of research. I’m from Wisconsin and hunt quite a few states, all public, every year. I hunt muzzle loader, if my gun tag is still available and I would hunt late bow but can’t remember the last time I did that in WI. When we get those single digits or less, hunting tends to get good, especially when the snow starts to pile up. I where heavy wool blend socks, and extra thermal insoles in my old school lacrosse icemans I got new on eBay, size 12. I can walk a mile in them no problem and they are warm enough. The issue I was having was all the clothes I wear on stand pushes me out an extra 2 inches from the tree. 2 pairs of bibs, a couple layers under that. I carry a lot inside my pack, completely filling a mystery ranch selway 60 with clothes. It wasn’t too bad though. LW is ok. Looking forward to using it next September.
Thanks also for the tip to be on the lookout for a used deal. I used to work for a lot of very wealthy people. One of whom used to say that it’s not as important how you make your money as how you manage it. Anyway, I hit 3 deer in the last 7 months. 2 in WI and one in WY. The wife has been hit by 2 unisinsured motorists and a cop during that time. Christmas and the kids and we’ll the wife keeps threatening with more plastic surgery… I told her I would sell some of stuff I don’t use on Craigslist, could use the extra space anyway. Most of the time I just give the stuff away, like my LW sit and climb. That stand kept on collapsing on me up in the tree after I put on 20lbs, from 180 to 200lbs
Thought this was obvious. Do the same with the sticks. Thats why the buckle is underrated in today's age. Way faster than anything else when you do this
That looks like it will be very helpful! Thanks for sharing this! Good luck!
Right on, I discovered this too. Thanks for the vids. Only 7 & 1/2 months!
i wish i would have found this earlier too
Good tip. With that said the EZ hang/XOP bracket makes hanging easy and quiet.
This is a hot tip! Helped me a ton!

Thank you! It’s one of those “why didn’t I think of that” moments.
Dang man, that is so helpful! I struggled with this last year so much!

How does someone put a down thumb on this? Great tip bro. Small detail that people do not realize
thanks man appreciate the support

Easy when standing on ground or a small diameter tree. I agree
