This is the absolute BEST coffee dye tutorial I've seen! Thank you so very much for sharing your technique. I'm new to creating journals and I did put my stencils in the oven with my papers. The stencils came out perfectly fine. I set my oven to 300F and check every 7 minutes.
I use dryer sheets everywhere. Old papers, storing off-season clothes, blankets, etc. to freshen the car, and anywhere else that might smell stale after awhile. I don’t even own a dryer!
I know this video is 3 years old…… the algorithm just presented it to me!! WOW!! I have some of the same stencils and will attempt this soon. Thank you so very much for your time and sharing your talent. God bless. 🌹🌾🌻
Thank you! It was great! I had hoped to see you put some in a journal or show us a journal that you've made that has some inside. It gives me an excuse to go look on your channel to see if you show that somewhere. Thanks so much for sharing!
This is the best teaching on coffee dying papers I’ve seen. You are very organized and thorough in your directions and precise. I want to learn how to do this not just right but creatively. Thank you so much! I’m looking forward to watching the next video on dying. So appreciate you, Teresa
lovely papers, I do mine pretty much the same way... I have a variety of stencils and plastic doilys and tablecloths. I love spraying mine with shimmer mist, alcohol inks, different colors of fabric dyes etc to get a tiny bit of color into some of them. I did a video a while back on how I do mine, I love doing them on huge cookie sheets as well, especially when I need to do them inside in winter.
You have some of the most beautiful coffee dyed papers I’ve ever seen! It must be the sealing it down to the paper, then the extra coffee & the drying it in the sun that makes them so gorgeous 🤔 or you just have magic for this 🤷♀️
hahaha, nicely put, Allison ... i'm voting for the magic hands theory as well; ) and hope that sprinkling that extra bit of coffee water on top will do the trick for me - as one of the less gifted coffee dyers; ) thanks so much for sharing!
I like coffee dyeing paper. I've done coffee, tea, a mixture of both, tempora paints watered down tempora and avacodo dyes. I've watched one artist making cesetnut stain and have heard of walnut stain. I've used lace and aplicays for patterns. I just laid them on flat surfaces around my house it was in the middel of December when I did mine Your papers are especially nice. I like the crisp, sharp edges of the patterns used.
The one (maybe the only) plus side to the hot, hot summers in the desert southwest 😊 is that I can sun dry my papers in a matter of minutes. I bought a cheap banquet table to put out in my backyard and lay the papers directly in that, then cover with a plastic lace table cloth for bulk coffee dye batches. Love your stencils ❤
I’m watching this the beginning of September in Southern California. Our temps have been near or over 100 the last couple of days. I was coffee dying on Friday. Managed to get 24 papers done before I was completely drenched in sweat. I love how these papers came out using the stencils. So I know what I’ll be doing tomorrow. TFS

Juanette, what a really fascinating tutorial! I've seen a ton of coffee/tea staining, but nothing to this degree!! I'm still in awe, how tight and crisp the stencils worked with the color !! Not to mention, consider yourself quite fortunate to live in such a hot climate, for this process! I'm in Michigan and summers can be hot, but usually pretty humid. Thank you so much for this amazing idea! LOVE IT!
Michigan - Guess you will have to stock up making paper during your summer months. Ha Ha. But I will think of you during the summer here when it is 115 every single day. UGH!
Wow a whole new level of coffee staining...Beautiful. Here in TX that will definitely work for me. We have over 100 temps this week. Gonna be dying me some paper. Thank you!
The results of that simple project just blew me away. Those pages are gorgeous. And for lil $. Wow 😮 can’t wait to see what you will do with them. I am looking for something to make for family for Christmas gifts. Men & women!!!!!!!! Pretty much we all purchase what we need or want so why buy something they don’t want. Wasteful with today’s economy. And $$ is just no thought at all. Hoping you provide me with some answers. Big problem is the men folk ! ! ! Great job on those pages. 👏👏👏👏
I haven't seen this one until today! Your papers are just gorgeous. I don't live in any sort of warm climate place, actually in Upstate New York. I so am going to try this technique of dying my papers. I have a few stencils, but will also be looking into getting just the strips and larger ones. I'm amazed. Beautifully done. Be well, be safe & TYFS
This has been the best coffee staining tutorial i have watched. I have struggled to get a good pattern transfer. Im definitely going to try this. Beautiful pages ❤
I wish I had found you a month ago when the temperatures were still in the 90s and hundreds. I to live in Arizona. Today it's 83. Your papers came out amazing. I'm going to try stencils.
Great video. Most people leave the paper in the coffee for hours or overnight. Then, they pull it and out drain all the coffee oof the paper and set it aside on a dry surface to dry. The odd thing is that the paper is barely stained. It think what works is having the coffee solution dry on to the paper the way you do it.
I am so glad your video showed up on my screen because I've been wanting to try my hand at this. These are the most beautiful pages and envelopes I have ever seen and so easy too! I didn't want the video to end! You now have a new subscriber.

Wonderful. Son is doing an art project on textures and we'll use this idea for producing special paper using some of our stencils. May also use some food dye instead of the coffee. Or even just use coloured papers. Now to get a bathmat or table mat for the lower layer!
Am also wondering if a stacking cake cooling rack could be used to help dry several sheets. Would mean making up several base layers but could save space & time. I'm in the UK where it's currently snowing and we don't get 75° + temperatures very often
@@lorraineomahoney204 It would help to dry them Lorraine but it would leave the marks of the cooling racks on the paper. Please let me know how your sons project comes out. And thank you so much.
I just found your channel, as a suggestion and so happy I did. I store my coffee died sheets this way also. I use lavender scented dryer sheets to mask the coffee smell, I've also used essential oils on a gauze squares. I look forward to watching more videos on your channel ♥️
😊 i just tried the plastic stencil and it worked great. I did dry it mostly with a heat gun for art projects. Its midnight here, and i wanted results now.lol thank you so much for the video. Ill certainly be trying more. Take care, be safe.
You can test your essential oil before using on your dyed papers, a true essential oil will NOT leave an oil stain it will completely evaporate into the paper
Your coffee dyed papers are beautiful. I really like the envelops with the corner stencil designs. Where did you get those stencils? I’ve never seen any like that. Thank you for sharing your process with us.
Some of the stencils I have bought at Micheals in the USA. Some are from Stampin Up. I also have ordered some from www.aistcraft.com. I believe they are located in Slovania. I hope this helps you.
You are right. Our AZ heat dries these wet papers in just a minute. Your stencils are really pretty and made beautiful prints. TFSing...hugs from Arizona...:)
Hi there, I just discovered you on this channel...so glad I did. I'm still only half way thru this one, but another suggestion for the stinky coffee smell I'd heard, is add some vanilla to the vat of the coffee, prior dipping or dyeing. I used quite a bit, but not a ton, and didn't measure. It's amazing how much better the paper smells afterwards. This works for both paper and fabrics ! And I got the vanilla a long time back at the Dollar store, so nice and cheap. Now I'm storing the left over liquid in fridge and 2 weeks later, so far it's still workable, and smells great! Now, back to you Juanette...
@@JuanettesCraftingCorner I think the best approach would be spraying the wrap, let it soak in and then bake only the paper 👍🏻 not 100% sure, but after baking the wrap may pop, or go flat in spots… but I still really enjoyed the process 😍
