What a privilege to get behind the wheel of this Z3M Coupe, which unsurprisingly has now been sold! Huge thank you to Renaissance Classics! Apologies I didn’t have time to include everything in this video, and that not all of the facts are correct. Nonetheless, I hope you still enjoy it!

Hi Joel, this is my old car. Wonderful to see a video made on it! I fitted the steel gearknob (Storm Motorworks) and had the wheel retrimmed with the performances sides along with many other jobs. I did a lot of work to the car under my ownership and there is a whole journal documenting it’s journey under me on z3mcoupe UK forum. Have some great memories from the road trips in it. Hope the new owner enjoys it as much as I did.

@@itsjoel How did you find the S50 compared to the S52 in mine? I know if you're able to put a slightly illegal exhaust system on the Z3MC they can push out a similar level of power.

Dan Allnatt all USA model E36 M3’s have the gimped S52 junk, since the m coupes are based on e36 M3 components, you get whatever motor your market got for the m3, which in Europe was the S50(s50B32)
That’s why the 2001/2 USA models are so desired, in the UK though the S50 was already 97% of the s54 so the change wasn’t nearly as big of a deal outside the USA.
A fantastic video Joel the Z3M is just an amazing machine, I wouldn't say no to having it park outside my house.

Came to this video because I have seen one lhd for sale for 50k €. Only 14 dakar yellow with sunroof delete option were made. Now that is RARE😂 I haven't seen one in the flesh yet of any colour😅

Another fantastic video, I always find it fascinating coming along on all of your adventures with you. I love the intro sequence and would to see a comparison between a BMW e85 3.0i and the si model. Similar cars but they manage to squeeze 30 hp more out of the engine. Would be interesting to hear your opinion on the differences. Hindhead tunnel is definitely the place to hear the exhaust

The seating position is quite upright and it is a small cabin!
Yep 5 gears, even the M version. The Z3 series was too short to fit a 6 gearbox on any of the versions so they are all 5 gears.

What’s it like compared to the z4m and your 3.0i performance wise?
To be honest, I didn’t really thrash it - so it’s hard to say. Definitely didn’t feel as fast as the Z4M
@@itsjoel that's because this has a s50 engine. Any coupe after 2000 is equipped with the s54 engine. Same as the e46 m3. So the z3 s54 is quicker than the z4. I know as I own one and have driven the z4. Not half as much fun either. M54 z3 is driving heaven. With the cast iron engine, I am also considering a super charger
Not that much quicker than a 3.0l roadster. If you want pure speed the m54 z3 made after 2000 is the one to get.
I’ve seen them selling for £60k imagine you sold one for £12k a few years back 🙈
