- Back in the day both Imran and Bilal both owned a Z3M Coupe, the at the time lesser loved variant of the M3. There must be something special about the car though, as all too often office discussions would come round to how they both regretted selling them.
As the saying goes, old flames die hard, and the itch needed to be scratched, so here is the newest addition to Imran & Bilal's collection, an S54 Z3M!

As a young lad working in a garage one of these came in but in Estoril blue(the guy was a offshore scaffolder, so it sat in the corner of the workshop for about two weeks) and everyday i would come in and stare at it. Fat arches, dials in the middle of the dash, the quad pipes. Just made it look so cool.
the design of this car is so original
What a great buy! These are lusted after here in the States and VERY rare in the later spec like this. The LMs are such a perfect choice as well. Nice one!

Damn! I honestly believe that as a Beemer fan, a petrol head (from classics to modern) I get to live my car life through these amazing guys at Evolve! Imran please you have to do a proper fully made documentary on the lives and history of the Evolve family / company and it’s owners and staff, what you do in-depth and. Who your customer base is
These are brilliant but I love the standard wheels, one of the best parts of the car. Was hoping you were on the hunt for some, not that you’d got rid of them!
Well by got rid.. they’re in the warehouse. But if you both lusted after a set of wheels and couldn’t afford them at the time then it’s only right to fulfil that dream.
Not to say the OEM wheels aren’t a great design though.

my mom bought one of these a decade ago, ive just gotten my license and ive been able to drive it. its silver exterior and imola red/black interior
unfortunately its only the S52 engine but its still decently nimble
man, i love the road and your guys cameras split over the screen!

Nice, I have the s50 m coupe, there's only around 450 left from the original 800 odd. Mine has been a garage queen and only done 10k since 2004 so trying to sort it to be as good as it was. So far in the last 1500 miles I've changed 2 O2 sensors, inlet manifold gasket, braided clutch hose, fan and clutch, currently looking at vanos solenoid seals. But man it goes like stink when you wind it up. Came back from Norfolk, in the rain and second gear just spins up, think third is sketchy and will spin in the wet. Crazy, great. mad and weird cars, got to love em..... enjoy yours it looks lovely.
Had to come back for another look. Its amazing how big cars have got, there is something special about a car that is small in proportion and rare. Was behind a 2002 ti the last 2 days on my commute. Maybe one of those for the stable imran ?

I remember when I was 21 (long time ago) and these was so much cheaper to insure than the E46 M3 because less of them on road less of them get into accidents, was enough to convince my friend to get one over the E46
That’s bloody cool. The styling is quirky but it’s aged well and seems to be getting cooler. The LM’s suit it to a tee 👍
They’re bloody tiny compared to modern stuff. Chap on PH has a gorgeous red one.
I'm definitely bringing an E86 Z4m coupe to you for airbox and tune, and definitely fitting BBS LMs or CSL wheels. Cannot wait

Love these. Ever since l watched Jenson Button doing power slides in a carpark somewhere on promo when he was a Williams Test driver l think. Saw one in the flesh for first time in Queenstown, New Zealand.

you probably know this, but the sunroof delete on the s54 cars are extremely rare, so awesome buy if that was an accident. Also a shorter diff helps these a lot, I have a 3.91 and 6speed swap in mine , vs stock 3.12 and it rocks

Back when beemer made driver's cars instead of computer shit boxes. Own a M3 E46 with the 6 spd manual myself, it's a joy to drive.

Great video Imran/Bilal maybe both your hairs will grow back ,LOL, Coupe is a style i always liked, I don't believe that I saw more than handful here in Winnipeg, I remember seeing 2 silver and 1 black and i believe the black one had the S54 engine it sure sounded sweet running through the gears , 325-350 hp is plenty for these cars , they weren't that heavy it is all about the experience not 0-150 mph, a great cruise, i can hardly wait for the intake Bilal is going to do a one off for this car, 20p says he is gonna do it it was in his eyes, this car is a keeper and i know the feeling of regret of selling my first GT and it was such a nice car great cruiser and tourer 👍
These older cars are all about feel rather than speed for us.
The steering rack from the 1.8 4cylinder z3 is perfect swap, highly recommend a set of coilovers some fresh bushings all around and a short shift kit with clutch delay valve delete. For starters 🙂
Loved my MCoupe.....especially after Steve Guglielmi (Guglielmi Motorsport) fettled the chassis on it. Stock springs with bilstein B6 dampers and some proper geo makes it a much more composed and less hairy arsed car. I'd love another.

I have Eventuri air intake and evolve remap on my E46 m3, for first time I got to see the geniuses behind.
PS : I would only improve the way air gets fed to the intake some sort of long neck tube to the bottom of the car to avoid getting hot air from engine bay

Very happy memories for me with the Z3M. I did work experience as a teenager at Sytner with the Alpina tech. He took me out in a Dakar Yellow Z3M on my first day for a shakedown. Needless to say it's a sideways ride i'll never forget. Great purchase Imran, will it be a keeper?

Those seats look very similar to Vaders from the E36 M3, what a great purchase, can't wait to hear that intake.
Edited to say, interesting comment about the steering rack, in the States we used to put a Z3 rack in an E36 as an upgrade.
Quite a lot smaller than a Vader though! Cockpit is tiny,
Z3 1.9 rack is an upgrade, Z3M has a slower rack.

Just make sure that rear axle panel ain't cracking . Common as hell on these . If it's OK then check to see if it's been done under warranty at any point . If it hasn't i would highly recommend you get the box section in the rear axle panel filled with resin to strengthen that panel .too much power for the rear end . I remember doing these replacements when I worked for bmw 15 years ago . E46 was another common vehicle with that same problem .

Always wanted one and I think they resemble M140i's to a degree. I get what you mean with the FF aswell which is a car I could never dream of buying unless the numbers come up on the lottery.

I had a few, in fact I’ve had over 30 E36’s including the individual Orinoco one floating around with an S54 that Gary put in (my old car).

Suggestion 1, Rohana RFX 11 look just like the ac schnitzer type 3 but wider rears they would look disgusting on zm3 coupe

Had Storm motorwerks set in my SMG e46. -converted it and now have a M performance knob. But I see Storm is back producing ? I'm tempted - @evolve can you give me any feedback on the V4? Essential upgrade in SMG - but is V4 as good as V1?
It’s definitely more of just a car to Bilal at this point and you can see that you’re more hyped about it. I have lusted after the z3m coupe for the last couple years. Although I haven’t driven one… but I have driven a Supra and thought it was okay. Because of the long bonnet and what feels like sitting in the back. The steering didn’t feel right. What I mean is feel immediate. at most turns at 7/10 pace it felt like I turned the steering and then saw the hood of the car go in that direction. Does the z3m have a better rack or does it feel same?

Why did not use oil temperature in that cluster? The e46 m3 uses one.
Also the z3m with s50 engine uses an oil temperature at the cluster..

No offence bro i love bbs that's what I run on my car but the wheels that trump these in my opinion are the Ac schnitzer type 3 19s staggered set up super rare suit the car to bits
Wish I still had mine, maybe in the future! OG Classic. I had mine resprayed in Interlagos blue as I hated Estoril! Also had the Evolve airbox (S50) which took up half the engine bay LOL

Front needs dropping a tad IMO. Front wings are same as all Z3, rear is not wider than 2.8/6cyl roadsters

The s52 is a fantastic motor. Its more reliable then the s54 and much better for daily driving. The s52 is also much easier to build should you want more power.

When you mentioned engine codes,you said previous gen had an s50 I believe you meant s52.
