Absolutely. The jealousy is real. You feel like you are in an absolute blast whilst driving it and grin on face factor is still there after a year. It's a hoot. James May was right it has that it factor.

I have one and it's a great drivers car. And when the top is down the sound is terrific. People can hate on it all they want. They likely do not own one or at least haven't driven it. Sure kids can out run me with a big engine but only until the first curve.

Yeah, straight line speed loses its novelty far more quickly than driving a boxster on a curvy back road on a beautiful day. Could use a bit more power though. Dat Boxster Spyder is the current dream car

I once got sarcastic 'abuse' shouted at me whilst driving my Boxster S years ago - dude was shouting at me from a bus stop whilst waiting for a bus 😂
I had a Porsche test driver take me on the factory test track in Stuttgart, back in 2004. The Boxster S delivered and Incredible experience. He was driving that thing sideways with one finger; my life passed before my eyes. That car can be seriously driven hard.

Awesome fun to drive , even the 986 base model is an extremely fun car. Helps if you can do some of your own maintenance, but.

Since NFS Most Wanted I have always loved Porsche especially the Caymans and Boxters, they just look so well and fun to have. Added bonus - Porsche lets you build your own models around the base version. It can get a bit expensive quite fast (+15k in addons easily) but its quite worth it, imo.
I have a Boxter and I could care less about the image it portrays to Porsche enthusiasts. I’m driving the damn car and I enjoy every second behind the wheel.
Funny how all the people telling you that you bought a Boxster because you can't afford a 911, are the ones driving shit hatchbacks.

I’ve been at two Porsche track days, with Boxster/Caymans and 911s. It’s fun to watch the 911 owners get out of Boxster/Caymans with positive comments and big smiles. It’s an easy car to drive fast with confidence.
As someone who owns both a 996 and 986.. The boxster is hands down the better deal. Easier to work on, equivalent looks, better storage, and handles better. The 911 is way faster though.
Your first review convinced me - got offered a pristine S example with the new bearings and the wife loves it - which in itself is a win that cannot be paid for with mere dollars.
But even in auto guise it’s a bloody fun thing on a sunny autumn day just around town - more engaging than you’d expect

The Cayman & Boxster variants in any iteration is quite possibly the best drivers cars on the planet & fortunately for many very affordable comparatively.
On my second boxster now. Drive one and you'll realize it's slept on.

At the Boxster price point there is little or no alternative. Build quality, sound, superb handling, practical, wind in the hair, a hoot to drive and minimal depreciation if you buy right……and it’s a Porsche!
As a 16 year old who dad said I’ll never do anything with my life and kicked me and my mom and siblings out, I’ve seen prices of this used and oh boy this is a straight deal for me I’ve found one for £4500
But gotta wait till I get a license

That’s a good line, but everyone loves my 981 Spyder and I get a lot more compliments than you can shake a stick at. You will own a Porsche some day, I’m 73.

Have a 992 and 982 , let me tell everyone 982 is a not a poor's man porsche. Its 5 times better and fun than driving a 992. 992 drives like a mercedes. 982 drives better than a 488.

Was it the 3.2 (the one you'd think you'd want) suffered ovalation of the bores, nikasil liner issue was it, would make for a very expensive repair on a used buy. Someone correct me if I have got that wrong
