The Sanctum - Tutorial Part 1: Foundation & Lower Pillars
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 вер 2024
- IMPORTANT! The foundation diagram shows the measurements from corner to corner (the white lines), not the amount of blocks. I understand that some are confused by this and aren't sure whether to count the corner blocks as part of the short or long walls. So by thinking of the numbers as measurements, the corner block where 51 and 12 meet are shared between the two and the corner block between 12 and 12 isn't part of those numbers. Thinking of the numbers as outer measurements (the white lines) should help with understanding how to build it.
The total height of the build is 176 blocks, but the top of the dome is actually only 118 and the very thin part of the spire starts at height 150, so if you're close to the height limit you don't have to build the spire quite as tall.

IMPORTANT! The measurements of the foundation are the outside dimensions. The numbers represents the lengths of the white lines, in other words. That means that the short walls are 12 blocks wide without counting the block "inside" the corner.
Also The total height of the build is 176 blocks, but the top of the dome is actually only 118 and the very thin part of the spire starts at height 150, so if you're close to the height limit you don't have to build the spire quite as tall.

Btw, why you not making discord channel?
Thats gonna be great if people can talk about your builds, and share tips and trick
@@getyourshot8900 I'm open to it but I feel like I need a little more stability for the lack of a better term, and I would need to figure out exactly how to manage the discord befroe setting one up. It's a good suggestion and I will think about it. 🙂
@@SixWings bro please add the list as soon as possible... I need to know how much i have to grind 🙃
@@Bored.Bedrock I will.
@@Bored.Bedrock The list is up.
I'm building this in my survival realm with friends and needed to break down the materials list to something we could easily visualize at a glance. Once I'd done all the math, I figured someone else who wants to gather the materials *before* trying to build the thing might appreciate having the list broken down in the same way!
It's probably overkill to add, but just in case: 1 Shulker = 1 full Single Chest or 27 Stacks. 2 Shulkers = 1 full Double Chest or 54 Stacks. 1 Stack = 64 items

This build is truly magnificent! It has been a pleasure to follow this tutorial! My heart goes out to the creator for allowing us to be able to build this in our own worlds! Good luck to those who are trying to accomplish this in survival!
Thanks for the compliment! I'm really glad you appreciate the tutorial. 🙂
@@SixWings i know its kinda late but i was allmost at the end then i realized that the platform was 1 block longer so i blew it up 😪
Don't worry about asking for patience. Building this in survival mode is pure evil with all the mangrove and mud blocks. Having fun seeing it come together. Only ten minutes in and it's taken me all weekend to get this this stage. Spent more time building farms than anything.
Yeah, this build is amazing. I’m still working on getting the mangrove, did you come up with a game or manually got it?
@@agent_clemons This is the farm I made. Easy farm and you can make a bone meal farm with the roots and moss. ua-cam.com/video/6luIr0eUiS8/v-deo.html
@@agent_clemons i just stripped the dark oak or spruce
Fuck it I'm paying 6 dollars for the world download and making a schematic on it.
@@agent_clemons stripped dark oak looks basically just as good hahaha
I did not enjoy Minecraft for the survival experience, but the potential in building and creating absolute marvelous things. Your work is the proof of the limitless, your work is amazing, and I really love you gave us the opportunity to build this on our own. You truly are amazing!
Thank you, Juan!

-WOOD FARM:
Spruce: ua-cam.com/video/Bjg1_GEPdDk/v-deo.html
Mangrove/Warped: ua-cam.com/video/6xe4I4EqnFw/v-deo.html
-BONEMEAL:
Traditional bonemeal farms (stone-moss converters) are slow. Use Wither Skeleton or normal Skeleton farms for faster drops.
-WITHER SKELE: ua-cam.com/video/ixGwh1pJb9o/v-deo.html

(Auto-dirt generator farms are pretty slow ~500/hr. Really not recommended. If anyone finds an efficient one please let me know.)
Edit: source only half of the required dirt. dupe equal amount of gravel using stronghold portal duper, and then combine both to make coarse dirt, which can be converted into mud.
Reduces no. of dirt mined.
- DEEPSLATE:
Not really a farm. Build quarries or you can use the wither. At y=59, build a long single strip mine with a chamber at one end. Spawn the wither and slowly walk through the strip while collecting deepslate.
-GLASS/LANTERNS: Buy from villagers

I can't even tell how excited I am for these tutorials! I really want to build both the Sanctum and the Mausoleum as opposing builds. One a fortress of light and the other a nexus of evil, the two locked in eternal struggle.
fr
This tutorial series is absolutely amazing! And intimidating to a degree. I have built dozens of castles, Japanese, medieval, Osaka castle by Cortezorino was cool I built it several times because it was so much fun. I looked at The Sanctum for weeks, and I love big builds but I'm on a PS4 and just preparing the areas can take forever. But your tutorial and the build itself is simply breathtaking. I have never had a build just amaze me to that level. Thank you for doing this! I'm a 53 year old widowed single Dad with a 16 year old son, he turned me onto Minecraft. Doing these big complicated builds really helps keep my mind sharp, and it's just absolutely fun to play/build. I am almost done with the first part, all I have to do is build the open gates! I am trying to take my time building it because I don't want it to end lol. So, thanks again!?
Thank you so much for the kind words. I'm really glad you find value in these videos. Good luck with the rest of the build. Cheers!
Oh I really do find value in it, I was a bricklayer for 20+ years but my back went wonky and had to retire from that. Then I had open heart surgery and had to stop working completely! That was tuff because I have always just got up every day and go go go. When my son showed me some of the builds he was doing a lightbulb went off! I can't build with real blocks and bricks but I can build anything with Minecraft. I have done all of the big tutorials-- I thought! I could never find a tutorial that was really big until your stuff started showing up in my search results. Thanks again and sorry for such long replies. I am having an absolute blast doing this and I'm taking my time because I don't want it to end😂. Have a good day and thanks so much!
Thank you very much for showing the detailed tutorial for one of your best build. I always love your refined skill for both spatial recognition and editing your video.
You welcome. And thank you so much! 🙂
Wow another tutorial for a glorious build. Thanks so much.
BRO IM ONLY 16 MINUTES INTO THE VIDEO I SPENT MY WHOOOLEE WEEKEND DOING THIS
Literally 16 mins in too. Spent about 7 hours doing this! Actually insane some ppl are doing it on survival, I wouldn’t last a day.
Me over here in survival 😂
@@rissjmo5540 I just finished the video, In creative mode it took me about 3 days cuz I was making some breaks, but it's fine cause it looks really really good!
Now the second part-
2 hours of tutorial.. probably 6 days to finish it XDD
@@loisbodart5468 I just started the second tutorial too! Didnt realize how many parts it was 😀 in for a treat
17Min in the video spent like 10 hrs on it
Yessss, I’ve collected so much packed mud for this, can’t wait to build it!!
Same, I cleared out so much space 🥲
Awesome!
And it will probably be not enough - i see it on my own try - before the tutorial - and much smaller xD
Its been 3 hours and im 8 minutes in this is gonna be so time consuming and im here for it thank you 🙏
I am in awe of your work and that you made a tutorial for this!! It's so beautiful and I'm so grateful that you spent time making a tutorial for this amazing build.
Thank you so much! You're welcome!
The time and effort you put on to this one is well appreciated!
Took me 10 days and I'm finally done with part 1🎉
Doing this build in survival, can say it’s easily the biggest undertaking I’ve done in a long time, cannot wait to see this build towering in my world though, will update when I’ve finally finished :)
I can imagine. Props for going through with the project. Would love to hear about it when it's done.
Oh yay! Wonderful thank you so much I was hoping you would tutorial this one. I'm off to find the perfect piece of landscape for to build it on now. So much appreciated your hard work for these glorious builds.
Amazing build! Probably one of the most unique build in youtube, keep up the good work!
Awesome! I'm building this in my survival map, waiting forward to part 2
How's the build going ?
Just after building this i realised how actually big it is. I don't know how to use commands so i built it block by block :3
Took me 3 days and i don't regret a single minute!
Yeah, it is bigger than you think. Awesome that you did it! 😀
@@SixWings thanks for your work!
Great build, will be on my spawn. Building it on PS5 Bedrock pure vanilla survival world. The scale of this is insane. It took me like 14 days to collect all the materials needed. One fun fact, that on Bedrock, there is no simple mangrove farm, so I spend like 12 hours only to get mangrove logs. And we do not talk about those 40k prismarine shards needed for dark prismarine. Once I retire I will build the Mausoleum 😁
Sounds awesome! And a lot of work. Good luck with the build. I made a sticky post regarding the measurements of the foundation, since some people have had issues with getting the foundation right.
Here we go again! After following your tutorial on the Mausoleum, it's time to start this one. This one seems wayyyyy less time consuming LOL it took me about a week to gather all the materials but I actually enjoy that part. Thanks for making such great tutorials to follow along too!
Thank you for the tutorial! I am enjoying it! I wish I would have read the comments first lol I was wonderimg why my count was off and the pillar markers weren't lining up and it was because i counted the corner block as 1 lol took me a while to figure that out haha thanks again for your hard work and I can't wait till I complete this ❤😊
You're welcome! Yeah, others have had an issue with the measurements of the foundation. Haven the numbers og the inside is perhaps a little confusing, since it's the outside measurements that are the right ones. Good luck! 😊
This is the most beautiful build I have ever seen. Truly a wonder to behold. I am building this as the central hub of my world centered directly over an end portal. Thank you
Thank you so much! Good luck with the build!
Is it a easy to follow tutorial?
Building this on a mountain overlooking a kingdom and villages is so dope dude, can’t wait to complete this
Sounds like a fantastic idea. Good luck!
2:37 in and it’s already taken me 4 hours (and counting ) 😀
hii, i just want to know if I have to build the pillars 29 blocks tall in total or 29 + 1 (the one they showed at the beginning)? :C
Это уже не первая моя постройка зделаная по вашим видео и все просто превосходно.Все понятно и построить сможет любой,да и вообще я удивлена что у кого хватает таланта делать подобные постройки так ещё и делать видео как их делать самому.Я в восторге.
Thank you so much! Really glad that you were able to follow it. 🙂
Awesome build! Just finished part 1 construction! Moving on to part 2!
Finding a location for this in my world is going to take just as long as building it I think 🤣
Haha thats right
Yeah, that is an important decision! 😀
Haha I had the same issue! I started zoning out an area and changed my mind mid way 🤣
I went with a survival island. Built a 101 dimension circle base. Creative mode, obviously.
According to the video teaching, I finished most of the part1 with my friends on the server. I'm waiting for the next tutorial. Your building is very beautiful. I'm looking forward to the next video😀
Thank you! I will get the next one out as soon as possible. 👍
Making this in a hardcore world, this build is sick. Keep it up!
just finished tutorial 1, and including gathering it took about 200-300 ingame days. wasnt to bad to follow, but very grindy. had a lot of fun! ill comment on part two when i finish that too.
For the foundation he’s confused the piss out of me is it 51 blokes wide or do I add corners to come to 53 in total
@@aiden7154 the white lines are the blocks if that makes sense, for example where two 12 sides connect, one has to be 13 so both are 12. he doesnt include the corners. sorry if that doesnt make sense, its really weird how he did it.
These builds are amazing works of art! I am a new player 53! Just discovering how beautiful and intricate this game can be. Trying to learn the blocks and building simple things. It was very overwhelming at first. How do you keep yourself from getting bored of a project at the beginning? As a ADHD person I tend to get bored quickly and drift off. I don’t want that to happen with this. I really want to stick with it.❤❤❤ love your videos truly amazing 🤩
I'm very much the same. I'll do some of the build, play something on my phone, do some of the build, do a smaller build or explore, and just do little things in between. Putting on a movie or something on tv helps too. Especially for the mind-numbing walls and fences portion xD
Thanks, I haven’t been able to play much I spent a week in hospital with pneumonia.😢. Still recovering. I haven’t had the energy to play any games. I am on the mend and ready to start building again.😅. I been sleeping so much lol I want to get back into playing again.
@zinniazen9923 I hope you feel better! I was sick a few weeks back for a couple of weeks. Couldn't do much more than playing on my phone or watch a movie.
it is 03:02am. I started this at around 1pm and have JUST finished it. 14 HOURS THIS TOOK ME. But dude it's such an easy to follow tutorial and would have taken me a bit shorter if I hadn't jumped the gun and done 4 closed doors lol. Praying for all the people trying to do this in survival😂 Thank you for this amazing tutorial!!
@@ryansmith2368 Thant's impressive! Really glad that the tutorial was easy enough to follow. 🙂
the pattern around 9:01 gave me trouble because it doesn't work, I only get 1 mud brick at the top, not two
Your corners are 11×11 not 12×12 if that is the problem.
Yoo, ill be waiting for this, thanks to make this tutorial, you are my favorite builder on the list :D 😁👍🏻
Thanks! And cool that you have a list. 😀
Thank you for the extraordinary build ! It's a nightmare to build in survival but worth it !
Awesome build. Used the new tuff blocks instead looks amazing
Took me around 8 hours to finish this tutorial, worth it though. Gorgeous so far.
Awesome! You're fast. 🙂
He did it... the absolute madman he did it... thank you so much for this but lord have mercy on me I want to build this in survival
I was searching for a Dome like castle/home, and i couldn't find anything but this, so i guess this is my final veredict
Good choice!
Now this is how you do a tutorial
Very simple, thanks man
Thanks a lot! Really glad it's easy enough to follow.
To combat the mistaken measurement of the foundation like I’ve noticed other have also been unfortunate to see, I made the inner most wall of the pillar one block shorter, there isn’t a real noticeable difference just slightly different decoration around it. I hope it turns out fine in the end I just don’t have the patience to completely start over
Same here. No problem tho don’t worry. We did the pillars well and they are not affected. Can’t wait to finish
If I could go back I would add a slow fly by of a checkerboard verison of the foundation, so people can easily count the blocks for themselves in addition to the listed measurements, or something in that vein. The problem with just changing the measurements from 12 to 13, is that an even bigger group of people would read the entire width of the foundation as 13+51+13=77 instead of 12+51+12=75, which is the right dimentions. As an architect I always think in measurements of the outside walls, like I would measure any building walls. At the time I didn't think it could be misunderstood, but yeah, I think a visual reference would help in the future. I tried explaing it in my latest tutorial (ua-cam.com/video/KuKpOGlmXrs/v-deo.html) at this timestamp 3:53. I hope that everything worked out okay with the build? 🙂
For me its amazing, I had to add one block of building (vertical layer) to each side of the build because of my mistake but it’s still symmetrical and perfect. Just a tiny bit different. Once again, this is fun and truly entertaining. Thanks for your time.
Im building first 9 minuts and this took me 3h it's amazing
This is beautiful! Im currently doing it with 1 friend in a public server.. its gigantic and very hard but it does look awesome am only at the pillar section n already looks amazing!❤❤
@@danbrown9783 Sounds awesome! Really glad you like it!
Thank you very, very much for starting a tutorial for this build. I had already started trying to copy the build from the timelapse video and it was nearly impossible. I know it takes a lot of time and effort to create a step-by-step tutorial, but it is very much appreciated.
You're welcome! Thank you so much for saying so. 🙂👍
YOURE INCREDIBLE BRO
Just discovered your channel and, WOW! Immediately subscribed
Thanks a lot! 🙂
This is rlly beautiful but I’m confused around 9:47 cause it’s a 2 block gap between pillars but for my build it’s a 1 block gap despite using the right amount of blocks, putting them in the right spaces and all the spacings are correct for me, so I dont understand how it’s a 2 block gap
Just finished this part. You are an absolute beast and I’m so glad you put your work out there for people to have fun building. Can’t wait to do more of your builds after I finish this one! Thank you Brother 🫡.
Thank you so much. Really appreciate it!
I have been building this in bedrock block by block because I don't trust myself to do structure blocks in quarters but I have found that the actual measurements are 53 in length and I set sections of 12. You have the length on each side as 51. I had to have someone come in and structure block and move the sections for me to make it work!!
That sounds really irritating. The measurements in the video a correct because they are the dimensions of the white lines. They're not block count, meaning that the corner block where 12 and 51 meet, is counted twice. Hope that makes sense.
Definitely makes sense. It is need up being fine after we structure blocked. I'm now 22 mins into video 3. It's been a challenge to say the least doing it block by block but it's rewarding and your builds are amazing!! @@SixWings
@@miasphrite4916 Thanks! i'm really glad to hear that. It is tough and takes a lot longer than you'd expect.

Loved the build! Currently working on it right now. Got confused on the corners of the mud brick walls. (For reference, at 21:16 when you place down spruce slabs at the corner.) I instead used a debug stick to fit in another spruce stair instead of spruce slabs and it looked just as good! Must try if you're doing this in creative.

@SixWings your tutorials are really easy, dw. I skipped it the first time, but the beginning with the explanation and all is a such a good detail, helps me understand how to build it a lot more
I have completed the 1st part and i came to notice that when i was building the gates i saw that i was 3 blocks more than the blocks it said in needed to be . Like it said that its 51 blocks and i have 53
the 1/4 cross section view is as beautiful as the completed build
Im deadass gonna secretly build this in the realm Im in and see how long it takes someone to notice.
Increíble, me encantaaaaa
BRO NO WAY WHEN I GOT TO THE GATES I MISSED 1 BLOCK, INSTEAD OF GOING 3-3 ITS GIVING 3-4 OMG
That's a bummer. Others have had similar problems.
@@SixWings bro does not care😂

I'll still be in awe...
I absolutely love this build! Have you considered making a schematic?
Well, maybe this is my one time life building suce a huge build like this in minecraft. And i choose this, btw nice build man, take a few weeks maybe to finish thiss bruhhh
Thanks! Yeah, it is enormous. Good choice by the way. 😀
I made only stone part (8 minutes of clip) and my mind goes crazy... i'm building 3-4 hours a day and i need to leave that game or otherwise i will go crazy.... so difficult, but i will do my best!
Have you finished the build?!
@@manface7887 i managed to do 2 more parts (ur videos) and stopped, cuz i can go crazy fr.
Thank you! Truly Awesome!
You're welcome. 🙂
Decided to build this in survival out of primarily Nether materials. Blackstone and crimson wood for a lot of it. The roof will be Nether brick.
@@KoenigvonHert Great choice. I love it when people do your own take on the build.
Trop beau !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Merci du partage !!!!
this is a masterpiece!
An absolutely astonishing astounding build! I’m working on a special Minecraft project and this is a big inspiration. This monumental masterpiece is truly incredible so many details
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you like it. 🙂
@@SixWings you’re very welcome, it’s truly incredible, inspirational just wow!
This took me 2 weeks🤡
Only 2 week
Your work is amazing
Thanks!
@SixWings i just want to start off with how in jaw dropping of a build this is and want to create it in my world but i watch through each tutorial video to see exactly whats being done and whats going to be most hardest for me cause i end up having to do alot of rewinding rewatching same steps like hundred times before i get it especially when theres no voice explaining or measurements showing on screen so i didnt know if i could get a photo of the measurements down on the foundation of the pilliars so ik where the placement is for them i do better when u put the number of blocks for each sides and how far away from the edge of the foundation if u dont know ehat part im talking about the time stamps is at 8:41 with the mud and log blocks
That was my only question and thing I saw in this video I could do the rest it was pretty easy I think otherwise of that one part
Bottom stair blocks are backwards on the open gate compared to the other gates
This is like a meditation
Thank you so very much!
You're welcome!
