Elvis loved gospel music. Just listen to him singing How great thou art ( he won a Grammy for his version) and amazing grace, and you’ll never walk alone. Elvis sings with his heart and soul because he believed👌💕🕺🙏

Elvis hand picked every musician and background group/singer. He was very involved in the arrangement and for all practical purposes, produced his music without receiving credit for it. That, according to those who were with him in the studio and rehearsals. He had great respect for each and every one of them and their talent, and choose the very best to surround himself with. And he always put everyone at ease, walking around to talk to every single person before rehearsals began. I think the more you delve into Elvis, both the entertainer and the man, the more impressed you will be.

Elvis picked the best of the best, and he knew who he wanted, and what result he wanted. In addition, he loved and respected his people as musicians, artists, and friends.
He was very particular about the arrangements of his songs, and he did an incredible job.

I live where he was born. His family moved to Memphis after he finished 8th grade here. During his high school years in Memphis he joined a huge Black church. Tried out for their choir and was excepted. The leaders of the church have stated on camera that Elvis had a very special vocal gift. Listen to his song called "What now my love" you will hear his amazing vocal range. Feel better soon!

What a lot of people do not appreciate about Elvis is that he did the arrangements to his content. And there's actually some UA-cam video floating around of them bashing out the arrangement for this exact song, and it's fascinating to see.

I grew up listening to Simon and Garfunkle's original version and always thought that it was a great song then I heard the Elvis version and it just took it to another level. Elvis sings this song with so much emotion, and passion, it comes from his soul. Superb as always

The Sweet Inspirations were a Black female singing group that performed with Elvis a lot. The Jordanaires were a White male quartet who also sang backup for Elvis and other groups. Both groups added so much to Elvis’s performances and songs. They really added a fullness and richness to each song they sang. This song was written by Paul Simon and originally recorded by Simon and Garfunkel. It was a huge hit for them. Elvis’s version added that tinkling waterfall piano that wasn’t in the original.

This was originally a simon and garfunkel song, and elvis sang it so well. Elvis sang gospel all his life from the time he was a child when he sang in black churches in tupelo mississippi, so its no surpriise a lot of his music has a gospel flavor to it - in fact elvis is in all four music halls of fame and had a wall full of gospel gold records among many others, he recorded some 700 songs in his life.

Just finished a reaction. And man, I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. Yeah dude this is something that I still never get tired of seeing and I've seen it easily 70 or 80 times I would say. It's such a fantastic performance in yeah I love his TCB band man I really do but then again I love every band ever had. Even go back to the early black-and-white ship from 1955 when he was like 19 years old or whatever you know on the Tennessee hayride and he's got DJ Fontana on drums and Bill black rest in peace he died too early on the stand up bass, and then his old friend for a long time Scotty Moore on the guitar. Man, this guy always surrounded himself with amazing people and they had to be amazing because he was so unpredictable and creative, they had to be able to roll with the flow but really be top of their game at the same time. And many of those early performances he had that backing vocalist group The Jordanaires which are famous man they were awesome. And fast forward like like decades to what you are reviewing right now and everything is much bigger and there's so many more people and they're also good and if you watch any of the behind-the-scenes footage of their rehearsals, or listen to some interviews with them, you will see that they all were super tight and they had so much fun like pranking each other all the time and but also Elvis was a Taskmaster man he really got down to business that's why he called the band The TCB, taking care of business.
He had TCB rings made up for all of them boy, he stuck up for them that's for sure. There was that situation in Houston when the Astrodome was fairly new and it was going to be one of the biggest live gigs he had done in a very long time and like a day or so before the management gave him a call and told him to leave the black people at home. And I read one account where Elvis got so damn angry, he literally just started shouting and throwing furniture around the room he was so angry. But when he got back on the phone with them, he knew his at risk of losing one of the biggest upcoming gigs of his career so far, and he said if you don't let me bring my full band with me, then I'm going to cancel. And I guess several hours later, they called back and capitulate and said okay you can bring everybody and then he doubled down on it and made sure that the black people especially were featured in the backs of convertibles when they did their little Victory route leading into go over to the stage at the edge of the Astrodome arena with spotlights on them and just the whole sold-out crowd cheering and cheering. That's what kind of a man that dude was. And that was just bizarre for that time.. I was just a very little kid back then and I can tell you man even in my own neighborhood, things were really really bad when it came to race.

I think Elvis would have wanted his backup singers and band to get the love and recognition they deserve for being part of the performance. He chose everyone on that stage and would have wanted them to be seen and appreciated for the talented people that they are/were.

There’s so many things said about Elvis in over 400 books now and 30 plus movies about him and countless documentaries..he’s made out to be a devil incarnate, thief of black music, an Angel, humanitarian, . If you believe everything that’s been said you’d think there was 1000 different Elvis. Do your research and weed out all the nonsense and you will know in your heart.
