Elvis did so many different generes perfect, rock, pop, blues, country, Gospel, christmas music even semi opera and spanish songs. And his voice could make every song special. I dont think we will ever see anyone like him again.
Thank you! Yes! Elvis takes to to church with this one. It’s my all time FAVORITE version. Hands down. Even the original singer and songwriter agreed that Elvis owned this song.
Remember Elvis started singing gospel in a black church. He has sold more gospel than any single artist in the world. Try his song, "Crying in the Chapel", I hope you will do " If I Can Dream" tribute to MLK". Thanks and Be Blessed
Paul Simon & Art Garfunkel were the original artists, and did a beautiful job of recording this song. However, Elvis brings the power and emotion and soul into it that S&G could only ever hope to imagine. They pretty much, in their own words, admitted it themselves when they heard Elvis sing it.
It was a sad day when he died. I was 17 and driving in Oklahoma and had to pull over on the side of the road as my tears fell. Loved this man and his music.
WHEN ELVIS PAST JOHN LENNON PUT A MESSAGE UP SAYING... BEFORE ELVIS THERE WAS NOTHIN -- JOHN LENNON. R.I.P. TO ALL THE GREATS❤❤❤HE COVERED ABOUT SEVEN HUNDRED EIGHTY SONGS AND 1800 CONCERTS. IN LAS VEGAS HE WAS TWO A DAY HE 51 WITHIN A MONTH SOME LAST TWO TO THREE HOURS. THATS TWICE A DAY . THE KERNNAL BURNED HIM.GOD BLESS HIM.
I stumbled across you because of Elvis, keep the Elvis coming, it will open up a whole new world for you. Elvis is legendary and there is no one that compared nor compares . If you stay on this journey you will see his versatility and the crossover of different genres and his amazing vocal range, including his famous vibrato. You will not be disappointed.
The song was written by Paul Simon and Simon & Garfunkel released it in January of 1970. However, the King's version of Bridge Over Troubled Water left the writer of the track, Paul Simon, stunned. Speaking in 1972, he called the King's adaptation of the song "dramatic". He added: "But so was the song." "When I first heard Elvis perform Bridge Over Troubled Water it was unbelievable." (Via Rolling Stone) Simon added: "I thought to myself: 'How the hell can I compete with that?'" He went on to say he was happy he didn't have to continue the song's story with a "follow-up". The singer said: "From that point of view, I’m delighted that I didn’t have to write a Simon & Garfunkel follow-up to Bridge Over Troubled Water, which I think would have been an inevitable let-down for people." "It would have been hard on me, hard on both of us." Paul Simon later said that he went to Graceland after Elvis' death and he wasn't impressed at first during the tour but when they got to Elvis' grave he said he started crying. Simon asserts: “I came outside and there’s his grave and it said, ‘Elvis Presley whose music touched millions of people all around the world’, and I read that and I just started to cry, I mean this guy was loved by everybody.”
Elvis Aaron Presley is King for a reason, no one can do it like him. King of music Elvis Aaron Presley. The Icon, The Legend, The Untouchable.God given talent. 1935--Until the end of time
Man I'm digging what you wrote. 1935 until the end of time. Tears rolling down my cheeks. I been trying to find a word for the king. Until the end of time. TX. Good night Graceland
The original by Simon & Garfunkel is a masterpiece on its own, no question about that. But when I listen to Elvis singing it, it`s different because he walked the talk. He was a bridge over troubled water to so many that everybody lost count. He changed the lives of so many people with his numerous donations and financial help. But not only that, he helped people in many other ways. Singing a song beautifully is one thing. Singing and meaning it is something totally different.
… There are many good singers in music history who sadly passed away, but... ELVIS is the biggest LOSS for me and not only for me I think!! … I miss him much!! ✨💎✨🕺🏻🕯 Thank you
Elvis brought me to your channel! I love his voice. This man is still loved world-wide, he is the GOAT! No auto tune, just pure God given talent right there! 🥇🎶🌍🇿🇦 more Elvis please!
Simon and Garfunkel released the song in January 1970, Elvis released it in June 1970. Paul Simon reportedly said, "That's it, we might as well all give up now." Other artists to cover are Aretha Franklin, Johnny Cash, Fiona Apple and Willie Nelson. 💚🤙
Elvis recorded exactly 769 songs ..... Did 31 Movies ..... Did 2 Documentaries ..... Over 1100 Concerts in the seventies alone ..... Who knows how many in the 50's and 60's ..... And was to Canada three times in 1957 ...... No Brag ...... Just fact ......
Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel were the creators of this song but after Elvis died and Paul’s career was pretty much over, he went to Graceland, he said he was basically compelled to go to Graceland. When he read the information concerning Elvis’s career, he cried and cried and was renewed by the spirit of Elvis. He made a new album called Graceland and his career took off only without Art Garfunkel. Elvis can affect us with his power and grace if we let his music reach our hearts.
I began watching your reactions because you were playing ELVIS!!! He is the BEST! There is no one else that can measure up to him! The BEST ENTERTAINER EVER!!! The GOAT!
Sure it's good,it's Elvis dude get educated take the Elvis journey!!it's a side of the king lot of people don't know, his voice is gold, they think of him as moving his legs and hips, king forever!!HE HAD LOOKS,VOICE AND HEART!
This was one performance from the entire filmed version of his 1970 Las Vegas concerts -- filmed by MGM over 6 different shows & came out on DVD. There is also a lot more to this man from his '68 Comeback TV special in black leather (a sit-down segment & a powerhouse stand-up segment), his fantastic 1972 Hampton Roads that can be seen in individual performances, & hundreds more. Pls be aware that he had the genetic condition A-1 antitrypsin causing COPD/emphysema & a liver ailment which began years earlier & needed an inhaler to help him breath, so how he managed night after night, year after year to belt out those songs is by some sort of a miracle. He was a powerhouse -- in his voice, in his performances, & in the emotion he gave from his soul & his gut & i believe that what made him more special was the emotion -- i don't know of anyone who poured out the emotion more than Elvis, & that goes for his upbeat songs also. Thanks.
You are very observant! Elvis roots came from Gospel! Research him and you will learn a lot about him growing up in poverty and frequenting churches in the south and being influenced by those gospel singer! I will sub to see more Elvis reactions! Keep them coming!
There's a great video of elvis rehearsal of this song . He wants the ending change so the backing group come in at the end . It's great to see him producing this song in the studio. Exactly the ending is like being in church
This song was written by Paul Simon (Simon & Garfunkel at the time Paul wrote this song). This song has been done by a lot of artist Elvis and Aretha Franklin both covered it amazingly. It's a great song.
Great performance! Arguably his best performance is “if I can dream” from the 68 comeback special. Tribute to MLK. Still very relevant message tonight. It should be on the airwaves today to encourage hope and unity.
I don`t have THE best Elvis performance or song. There are too many gems in his music box to decide which is the best. You can only pick one out in case you know just some of them.
Actually it expeessed his thoughts and feelings about the assassination of both MLK Jr and RFK. He sat around after rehearsals with a group of men and they discussed both tragic events. One of them left and wrote the song based on Elvis thoughts and feelings that he'd expressed that night.
@@LM-hb6yn Steve Binder the producer, tells exactly what happened at the '68 Comeback Special. A 30 minute documentary called: "Gates of Graceland. Secrets of the '68 Comeback Special". Two of his songwriters wrote this song.
Amazing! I needed to hear this today. Woke up with a terrible headache but made it in to work. Came across your reaction on break! I have always loved this song but wow, oh wow! Elvis' version is so wonderful! Thanks for taking the time to review this beautiful song!
Great songs live forever..I've heard a few people do it too. Gospel was Elvis's absolute favorite and it comes out here and there..Nice reaction. Thanks ✌️
This popped up in my feed for some reason so I saw that you had an Elvis playlist and I just watched this one so I subscribed. I will watch the others when I get a chance. Simon and Garfunkel released Bridge Over Troubled Water in January of 1970 as a single from their fifth album. Elvis loved it and had released a version of it by June of that year. And then this performance is from November I think but definitely it's from 1970 in Vegas. Paul Simon attended one of the Vegas shows or perhaps it was the one in Madison Square Garden, but at any rate, apparently after watching Elvis perform this song, he said "Well that's it, we might as well all give up now!" 😂
congrats on the 12k.... Elvis brought me here a while back and after your reaction, i had to sub... i was excited to see you do this song. keep em coming (your other reactions too , of course)
It's a Simon & Garfunkel song. But Elvis'version is my favorite. He did a lot of covers. In this same concert he covered "You lost that loving feeling" by the Righteous Brothers and it's so good! Someone described it as 'When the Righteous Brothers sang it it was like they were in their feelings, sad over what they lost. But when Elvis sings it it's like he's saying "Hey girl, look what you lost" 😆
I was watching your Elvis reviews and in "Hound Dog" your were commenting how he must moved his arm(?) and the girls screamed. Here he is in his late 30s and one little twitch makes them scream... and him laugh. Highly recommend "Fever" ua-cam.com/video/64cb5I2Z-Fk/v-deo.html

Simply amazing! ELVIS could sing all genres of music! His voice goes straight in your heart!
Chills every single time! No pitch correction, no autotune, a hand held mike and he sang it live. The 👑 still reigns.
Elvis did so many different generes perfect, rock, pop, blues, country, Gospel, christmas music even semi opera and spanish songs. And his voice could make every song special. I dont think we will ever see anyone like him again.
All of Elvis’ covers are better than the original. Plus, he’s gorgeous!!!
Thank you! Yes! Elvis takes to to church with this one. It’s my all time FAVORITE version. Hands down. Even the original singer and songwriter agreed that Elvis owned this song.

His concert “Aloha From Hawaii” is mind-blowing.
Elvis really owns this song. Beautiful...
