Well, I got mine and finished the setup in about 20 minutes (including Testing). Then went out front and flew it in my street in front of my home. It flew great and has a large presence in the air. This is one to get, and it will be a star. Thanks Brian!

It’s definitely a cool little helicopter. It reminds me of the first foam fuselage helicopter, which was the multiplex fun copter. This helicopter will NOT do hard 3D. The tail will never hold. It’s not designed for that. That’s what a Pod and Boom is made for.

I like the quote "It's like flying a helicopter that is an airplane"... for sure helis like this bring in some new pilots that could have quit very fast after a couple of crashes with helis without safe or stability mode. And if they get the orientations and stuff right they might try to fly is without stability and might get the real feeling. It's always a good thing to bring in new poeple than to demotivate them right from the beginning!

Great looking heli- It's nice to see one flown like a helicopter and not flopping around and inverted and all that. It'll be interesting to see if other bodies come out- maybe some interesting aftermarket ones. If you've never done FPV on a heli- I highly recommend it... back in the very early days of FPV stuff, I ran a camera over the amateur tv band with a ham license with a manual gimbal under a .30 nitro powered Kyosho Concept. I guess quadcopters kinda reduced the enthusiasm for helicopters, because they really were challenging to learn before modern flight controllers.

@@Mark-ni9ny ha ha. Size means nothing. I can guarantee the m2 is 10 times the heli. This helicopter chassis is literally 20 years old, with crappy servos and an outdated ESC. Trust me, I’ve been there done that. I would never recommend any horizon helicopter to anyone.

@@OregonMotorcycleDitto! I never realized how over priced their products were until I got into OMP. The only one I halfway ycan stand is the 150 and that also pales in comparison. Anyway, not to hijack this video but I’ve never understood all the love for the 230 either, those people couldn’t have flown an OMP calibre heli. It would be one thing if the products and parts were priced lower. As far as the “hate” towards Blade, I think it’s simply a case of some us recognizing the value, or lack thereof in similarly priced products.

Hello Brian, I have always been a loyal follower and would really like to know your feelings on the Blade - Eclipse 360 - BNF Heli, as I am a novice Heli Pilot and have a couple of Blade rigs now, but liked the looks and your video on this. I am more concerned about the foam fuselage and how all this plastic and foam will hold up, as I am just wanting something to use in the local park and my RC field for flights similar to yours. I wonder if you could install floats on a heli, like on a heli this size and land/take off from a very calm small lake? :) Taking off would probably need close to full power.
But when landing, the blades would create rough water. Or maybe oversized Training gear sets with those round plastic balls.
Just a silly idea I thought about :) I could imagine you would have some problems when it doesn't go straight up should a ball or two stick to the surface resulting in the heli to flip over hehe.

Looks good, I don't think most people care or need to do stunts in stuff like this because there are tons of heli's that are designed to do this. With this heli it's more about smooth, scale flying and why I think the manufacturer missed the mark here a bit. Maybe they want to avoid paying some fee to original manufacturer, but if they had made this look like a real heli (kinda reminds me of a Gazelle) they would have won on all points, but hey, just one guys opinion.
Also, most toy grade helis are smaller and they do NOT have GPS, some of the more recent ones look very scale and fly great. Many of what might be referred to as "toy grade" helicopters are every bit as good as "hobby grade", the main difference being they are not sold by HH dealers, lol. You are right, they are typically smaller but then you can fly indoors or out and also less damage occurs when crashed, bigger is not always better.
Not bashing this helicopter, I hope they sell tons of them and people like them.

Does everyone get these models sent to them at the same time? RC Saylors posted a video on this today too.

Reviewers have contracts with embargo dates. Basically the manufacturer will set the first day videos can be released. He's probably had that model a few months unless the manufacturer dropped the ball or don't run a company like they should and put extra pressure on the reviewer by sending things last min.

I smell a lawsuit from Multiplex...remember the Funcopter? I loved the Funcopter, but it flew like utter crap. This one looks great, kinda pricey though. Nice to see scale flying, I could care less if it can invert or not.

I think its a little over priced though. But thats probably cause its a new product launching. Blade needs to oay for all that R and D to develop this geli. But is still very cool.

Yeah, might be true, but it's right in the middle of 330S and 360
      bprc.me/330S - Slightly less
      bprc.me/Eclipse360 - Middle
      bprc.me/Fusion360 - More expensive
...but I get it, she's not super cheap. I think when more amazing choices come out, it's gonna be epic, but to be honest, I LOVE this. Would have liked to see RETRACTS - that would have been SWEET!

Yes! Foam bodies for helis is a logical progression. Brian, the way you flew it around pretending to be in it is how one becomes good at flying helis. It's all about control and pretending to not kill yourself and the passengers. Maybe one day you'll be a snob too. Ha. If a pilot wants to practice smack then the simulator is where it's done. Brian. I like when you start flying forward more like an airplane. Please continue. The transition from feeling like a hell into an airplane is fascinating. Thank you for flying this bird. I could feel you really enjoying it. Props! or rather Blades!

Eflite are marketing geniuses! This will sell well to a target market for sure. True heli enthusiasts will think the helicopter is junk (me included). I do love the turnkey aspect of their products since it allows a larger portion of RC enthusiasts to try their hand at flying these rather complicated contraptions. Brian- I challenge you to up your heli flying skills! You are an amazing fixed wing pilot but you keep whining that you can’t fly helicopters…inverted flight really isn’t that difficult once you get your brain wired for it.

What are you talking about? It's way easier to make a fiberglass body. Foam body doesn't cheapen the heli, it makes it more expensive! The same stick and boom heli is right there UNDER the foam body. Do you really not understand this?

Not sure what you mean. This is basically the same as the 330S / Fusion 360, and right in the middle of the price points?
      bprc.me/330S - Lower price
      bprc.me/Eclipse360 - Middle price
      bprc.me/Fusion360 - Higher price
I mean, it's not gonna be for everyone, but she's right in the middle of the price for this size class.

    • @fernando13e
      @fernando13e 7 місяців тому +1

@@BrianPhillipsRC Since it's BNF Basic it's even less value than the 330S which costs about the same if you buy the ready to fly package, it also has an electric motor driven tail rotor which further complicates things as electronics tend to fail more often than a belt driven setup. A fair price would've been around $280 or $300.
