You are absolutely right about a go around. You only had two go arounds that is excellent for a maiden flight. Love these new planes they are really getting a nice product out now. Way better than the older stuff. Technology is bringing the hobby to life.
Wow! That sure is quick. Good looking plane. The landing was great. I remember when I was about 3 years into flying and would test fly all the 48'' planes in front of my house, that was 20 years ago. Too many trees now. Planes are too big too. What a great hobby!
Went 7 min in to see to my relief that this is not a belly battery compartment like the UMX Voodoo P51. I still have that UMX, still flies but... Happy to see FMS went topside with the battery on their 1.1M Mustang. It is beautiful and visible.
Impressive slow flight, with those barn doors down. But, it looks like it stalls violently. Not unlike the 980mm p40. I've had a couple close calls with that plane. And one nose dive wing drop that required the old boiling h20 treatment. Def not a beginner plane, too. Great to see the dam pond work commencing😊 Hope I can get down to Nall to see you guys. Means I'll need to finally bite the bullet and get an ama membership. Ugh. Awesome video! Thanks for all you both do 👍
Yeah, for sure. As for AMA - ugh...YEP As for seeing us at Nall...are you gonna be there? If so, for sure hit us up! We'll be all over and it's a HUGE place, but we know we'll be at the Horizon Hobby area for one event on Wednesday Afternoon/Evening for pylon racing, other than that, we haven't really mapped out the whole time. It will take me 30 minutes to 1 hour to go from a tent to 10 feet from the tent, if it's anything like last year ;) LOL (no joking) we just bump into people all over and it's great! Hope you're one of them.
I have the Tower Miss America of pre-pandemic era. No gyro. It flies like this one on 3S 2200pack. It's a little too fast for me, small elevators lose authority during landings, tends to nose over.
That's a perfect candidate for a 6S2P config - I'm doing that on some of my insane larger quads and it totally mitigates the crushing voltage sag you'd get on a 1P setup.
I Highly recommend this plane . I have the dago red version with reflex gyro . It is easy to fly and lands slowly with half flaps . It will go 140 mph with a 6 s 1550 mah 100c lipo drone battery. All you need to do is change the prop to a APC 11x8 prop and a 2 blade spinner and shave some foam off of the battery compartment to make room for the battery . The motor and ESC will not burn out .
Gorgeous bird. I have the Strega P51. They are pylon racers by nature. I will say that taking off and landing this bird sucks. If it's windy it's especially difficult. You can see in Brian's first take off how the bird went left almost into the grass if not for it's power to get up quick. The problem is in the window between taxiing slow and fast. When you're on the ground, slowly steering is awesome but as soon as you get speed for take off the rear wheel comes off the ground leaving you with only rudder authority to yaw. The problem is you're not up to speed to have rudder authority yet. So there is a brief moment when you cannot steer this bird on the ground during take off and landing. The best solution is to make sure your rear wheel is as straight as possible. You might have to misalign the rear wheel to compensate for a rollout on takeoff. If its windy this is all exacerbated. But when it's in the air it's a pleasure to fly. Thx Brian and crew!
Being Italian I find the term Dago offensive........ 🤣😂Just kidding, I can care less, I grew up when men had thick skin. Added it to my list, Thanks for the video and a big Thanks to the camera crew.
This is about theBE-18 twin beech. Anyway I bought a big second hand and tried for two days to set up reverse. I updated receiver 631 and called horizon hobby and talked to three different techs and finally the last one asked if the avianESC said “lite” it can’t get reverse. I am still curious? I will buy the V2. If you have any extra time please send me an answer.
@@BrianPhillipsRC I hear they will be available in the states very soon ive got $ set aside just for one. Omp helis are amazing. Only reason I havent gotten an m4 js because I have the SAB RAW 420
WOW - that would be EPIC!!! I gotta fly one at Joe Nall - do you know anyone who can let me have the sticks for a single flight????? I'd LOVE to get one in the air, but gotta see how long a runway it can handle.
I’m not sure that you want people in the hobby, if they think what Cletus is doing is duplicatable. He is pure entertainment? For those that are getting back into the hobby for the second time, if I were a betting man would say it is more financially crippling for most. Just my thoughts. Love all you do for the community.
I just watched Cleetus McFarland flying a 15 foot, twin turbine (twin 120 size turbines - HUGE POWER) and it was pure entertainment...like you said, but what WE do is try to really show HOW to do it, and not just the fun parts. Yeah, we do try to show the fun parts too, but for most, a $35,000 turbine jet is a total impossibility, like you said. We can't afford a family car for that, let alone another toy - but not trying to take any wind out of his sails - he's worked hard for it, and has done well for himself, and can do whatever he wants. Not trying to poo-poo what HE is doing, but what MotionRC is/was trying to do, reaching an audience to buy their foamy B2, and every other time they show off their equipment through guys like Cleetus McFarland...he's an entertainer, and I try to be a teacher. Different market, both of viewer, and content...I just think sometime MotionRC trys to reach the wrong audience. We need people in this hobby who actually do it, and won't quit on plane number one... Thanks for being here!
Brian gut yourself some CNHL 70c 2200 5s. Runs perfect on this set up. 6s is too much for that poor esc. Ul be pulling 140A esp with that 4 blade prop.

UA-camEEEE ITS BRIAN PHILLIPSSS
Damn skippy!
Setting up a throttle curve (expo on throttle) can help manage the low end power on models with high power drive trains

I use 5S 2200mah 60C
No need to change the ESC and prop and it’s more powerful
Has fly more than 200 pack and works perfectly
Could've went with a larger tail wheel? Am I wrong?
This p-51 is just plane sexy.

I am sure that someone has asked before. However where or what is your pole and wind streamer setup?
Im building a balsa Spitfire ARF right now! Excited about that one. Do tell, is OMP sending you an M7?😂😂😂. I know im getting one asap

Hello Brian 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
You need some RC construction equipment to give a "little" help with the dam pond.
