I've been saving this due to life happening which meant I couldn't watch it when it dropped. You know the pallete that you work with in your compositions and then processing of the images is so unique. But the pallete that results is so unique and true to the eye. My favourite are the last two. The leading lines of the rocks leading out to the sea and the polarising of the rock pool to give depth and even more interest in that space between the leading lines was magical. The last photo where just the right amount of shutter speed allowed the reflected light to cause the wet rock face to glow. Even when you can't find the light you forsee it in collective exposure. And all that you have shared with us over the years, more than anyone else, allows us to unlock and decode images to read the story and work that went into them. Adam you are so inspirational and your humility brings us along with the joy of it. Thank you for sharing your story Adam.

Loved the cliff/sea shot at 11:47, and also the very simple, long focal length shots of distant islands dipping down to the sea with the two large rocks in the foreground. Great stuff!
I have been to Harris many times and recognise all your locations, its great to see what compositions you made and you got some cracking photos, looking forwards to the next installment of your journey.
So many images to love. The last one with the dark rocks and the dreamy sea; the subtle colours in the shot at 8.20ish; the abstract with the black and beige sand meandering around the rocks.❤️📷
Oh and the composite image as well. No it's not cheating 😉😁 I've done similar things with my photography eg I've taken a foreground shot at dusk and the Milky way an hour or two later and combined the two... Mostly because I'm not very good at light painting. Composites are only cheating on documentary/journalistic photography IMO where the integrity of the scene is paramount.

I think the best ones from this day where your first one with the beach detail and the one of the distant islands (?) with the rocks in the foreground (8 min mark). I think it was a very well balanced shot, more interesting than the previous one (but that’s me anyway).
Another great video! Some definite keepers in that lot. The water scenes are breathtaking. I like that you are using the Kase filters, I've been using them now for six months and absolutely love them.
LOVE the simple pastel landscape around 7:37 with the muted sky and background and just enough color on the hill and the almost green water. I stared at this for awhile. Also reminds me of a Thomas Heaton photo he did recently in the rain on film. You guys really do create magic. Nice work!

Great place for photography indeed. I remember seeing the Norther lights on Lewis back in August a few years ago... I was not expecting that all. Harris seemed to more rugged but Lewis part was more challenging for me so maybe this is for that reason that I loved it even more :)

Fabulous image with the cobbles of Lewisian gneiss! FYI the black grains are iron titanium oxides most likely dominated by magnetite that are indeed denser than quartz and feldspar grains of most of the sand. Gives me fond memories of a geology field trip to Scotland with students back in the early Nineties when we spent a few days on Lewis and Harris. Hoping to get back for some photography in my upcoming retirement.

Interesting. The ""black" sand looks suspiciously like tar stained sand found time to time here on beaches in the US. It takes a long time to make sand and I would have expected true black sand to be found in larger deposits or mixed more uniformly with lighter sands rather than streaked.

I am surprised that you admit that you didn't bring your camera. Tut Tut lad. Great video. Iam not sure of your time line but if this is fairly true to the beginning of the year you've missed some eventful occurances in B.C. and to a leaser degree in Alberta. Exceptional rains in B C. to say the least and right now kind of cold here in Alberta Minus 37 to 40 degrees for a while, a real western winter. Give me a gentle rain.
