OMG 3am and still I can't stop watching! I'll be both gutted & glad when I've caught up! 🤣 Those drons shot of the beach.....wow.....increcible colours and so endearing seeing Sarah running around with the boys, how lovely you all are!
The Isle of Harris is amazing...so beautiful! Enjoyed the drone work, incredible. Thanks for sharing this moment with all of us. I hope that the two of you got to share some quality time together, making memories between filming. My dog Zelda still has a crush on Jack, she likes to watch Jack running and playing.
Many years ago we done a 4 day tour from Oban of the Hebrides, at the time Oban promoted itself as 'The Gateway to the Islands'. And one of our guides was a marine biogist who said the were surronded by the cleanest sea water in all of Europe, and he said this was because of the sort of 'reverse action' of the tides caused by the strong tidal flow between the islands that were so close together and the overall effect it had on whole area.
A sky so close you could reach up and touch it A visible expanse so deep you can inhale the scent of salt water and exhale all the way to the horizon. Two wildly happy dogs etch their joy on a clean slate of sand in a chaotic profusion of footprints. Thank you so much for bringing us along on your holiday!
Wonderful you take me to places I could never visit now I am old. I enjoy every minuet of your lovely scenic videos and you and your lovely boys. What a great little family you are.
That’s one of the reasons many people share on UA-cam I think. It was a factor for me starting to share our adventures here in the far north of the Scottish highlands, to show people a part of the world not everyone gets to experience for real xx
OMG! You two ☺. I spent most of the time crying through this vlog. Bittersweet. So many memories of Scotland with my beloved. Now he's gone, I know that I will probably never go back (I'm 71 and the driving would be too much for me on my own), So thank you for taking me back ... Terry spent some time on Harris and Lewis a few years ago with his caving club buddies, where hev was researching Harris Tweed. He collected Harris Tweed jackets over many years. Sending you both and the fur babies 🐶🐾, once again, love, light and Summer blessings. Take are of waxh other, youbare precious. xx
Wow 🤩. Absolutely stunning , such beautiful beaches. I would just love to be there , no crowds , cars , noise . Lucky you ,the dogs are having such fun . Thanks for sharing . Love the music Willie . 👍👏😘
I absolutely love Sundays just because I get to see your Vlogs. I always look forward to your excursions, seeing the pups and the beautiful landscapes. It never hurts to be able to hear Willie play music and Sarah show her art. Today’s Vlog was no letdown! Gosh, what a beautiful place to live. I think it’s in my DNA, and I can’t wait to come and visit. I can still hear my great- grandmother speaking to me and telling me stories of the Hebrides when she was a girl. ❤ I know you had choppy water, but the beaches were well worth the trip. Much love and admiration coming your way from the Appalachian mountains in America! ❤ Jan
The views from the drone were quite stunning Willie, a small reminder of how the human race should make a serious effort to look after this planet. Watching the absolute joy that Jack and Norry had running along that beautiful beach and the pics of that eagle, made the video.Good effort Sarah, trying to outpace them!
This is a truly wonderful video from you both. I am a firm believer that gratitude is a major factor towards contentment. Your lifestyle and outlook reflect a great appreciation of the beauty of the Scottish isles. Thank you for sharing your happiness in every way.
Thank you for taking us on this beautiful trip. You two enrich my life so much by showing places that I otherwise wouldn't know. The knitted hat looks very good on Willie. When you were in the beautiful church I caught Jack Spaniels just posing for the camera. Please do a few of those close shots of him. He makes my heart melt when he makes his cute faces at the camera. I'm sure Nori will learn this once he calms down a little. They are lovely. 🌷🌿🐕🇺🇸
St. Clements Church was so amazing to think it was built in the 1500s....so beautiful and in such great shape after all these years. Evidently a historical site that is well looked after by the island residents. We are so fortunate that you are willing to film for us and share with us your beautiful islands. They are always wonderful, no matter what the weather.
Love, love, love the CalMac Ferries. My husband is originally from Scotland and we try to go back every two years from Canada. Done many a road trip and have used the ferries many times during our visits. I can confirm the mac & cheese is amazing.
I am going to have to try the mac and cheese on the ferry next time. Although I don’t have sea legs so spend most of my time on the top deck trying not to be ill 🥴🤦♀️
I'm 82 now and I spent my working life "exploring" the Motorways of the UK in Lorries. Do I envy you your life in the Islands? Of course I do!!! Never got round to visiting there and now learning what I've missed. Good luck to you, Jack & Ory. I hope the rest of your lives are great for you.
UA-cam is great for exploring places you may not get to in real life, one of the reasons we share videos on YT of our adventures here in the Scottish Highlands x
I was there 5 years ago, i want to go back forever! Being of scottish decent from both my parents, i felt so grounded when i was there. Thank you Willie, Sarah, Jack and Nori for another reminder of my deepest dream .
What a beautiful amazing place the beach, the rock formations I could live there. Willie's music just puts the icing on the cake. Thanks for sharing it with us
Hi guys! Just catching up on your Harris trip now. Oh my ! It is so stunning I cried with homesickness even though I’ve never actually visited this particular island. The cinematography was fantastic, and along with Willie’s wonderful music, it is definitely one of your best videos. The pups were also in heaven. Didn’t want it to end. Just beautiful. Well done!
reminds me of my honeymoon where we went camping, mostly on Horgabost beach. First night was paradise, went to sleep in glorious sunshine and woke in the middle of the night in the midst of a horrible storm. Memorable in many ways :)
If you want something good to watch on a Sunday evening ,my wife Swears by living the skye life on UA-cam......BTW we were on skye last November and past Sarah on the road ...I waved and the wife missed her ...she was gutted 😂😂 👍
Well it’s the Hebrides . It’s Scotland. I love it all. The coos were lovely and the sheep and lambs. Hope you got pictures ot paint. And the music is very very nice. Thank you again!
What a blessing to be able to go and experience this beautiful place. You have done an exceptional job with the camera work. You both are so talented and Jack and Nori sure can move with energy and enthusiasm. Bravo Willie and Sarah. Looking forward to seeing your next video. ❤❤❤😊
A beautiful cottage with en suite bath . The foggy mist from rain clouds shadowy hills very exhilarating. Ancient stones plus history of the area. just perfect vacation spots. We love the new hat. Buying local supports community and encourages more local goods.
Really enjoyed the trip to Harris....the boys really behaved well and enjoyed the beaches...many thanks for showing the beautiful scenery...its good to know there are some good coffee places.... Looking forward to the Lewis video. Many thanks and best wishes.
Seals are so fascinating to watch. Love watching dolphins as well. Scotland is a magnificent wild place to visit. I’ve been twice and loved it so much. So pleased you showed us the beautiful highland cattle.
Scotland is incredible isn’t it! We saw dolphins on the ferry over for our trip to Isle of Lewis and Harris last year was sooooo chuffed! Love sharing our adventures on our YT of our Scottish highland life x
Isle of Harris is ruggard & isolated that's for sure. I believe there's a family there that have been making beautiful Harris tartan wools out of those sheep you passed for a few generations. Willie some music with the Viking boats drumming suits Harris.
I thoroughly enjoyed the entire episode, as I spent much of last August in the Outer Hebrides. I found myself with tears with your Luskentyre footage. We were there, and it ranks right up there with the Caribbean beaches I have visited. The dark brooding clouds with sun shining through made for stunning vacation photos for us. We did, however, have to make a mad dash back to the vehicle just as you did on the previous beach! I’ve been many places, but Scotland captured my heart like no other, and I can’t wait to go back.
How beautiful was that💙My sisters are coming in 2026 to drive around Scotland and Skye. We were going to Lewis and Harris but have since changed our route to view the highlands more. Thanks again for sharing. And the music was great!
No matter where you visit up here it’s stunning! You guys will have a blast exploring up here. Iam bias that the Highlands are stunning as I live here but the islands are amazing too. Love sharing our adventures here in the Scottish highlands over on our YT channel too
I loved watching this! I cried! I explored those beaches and St. Clements in Rodel on my solo trip in April. I too went to Dun Carloway but didn't climb up because of an injured leg. I am planning a return for 5 nights rather than the previous 4. This will be again in mid April. Thank you for this happy beautiful video.
Having just spent 3 weeks in the Highlands plus Mull, Iona & Skye this HAS to be on our bucket list for sometime in the future. We met on an island in the the late 1980's so it must be in our blood. Great video guys, love it, thanks for taking us along on your holiday. ❤❤
Oh wow I bet you had a wonderful 3 weeks! I haven’t done Mull or Iona yet, there’s so many stunning places up here it’s hard to choose where to start! 🤣
@@thehighlandlife2023 indeed we did. Amazing scenery, wonderful wildlife. The Highlands seem to go on forever when you're driving through them. Memories made that we'll remember forever. We will return again.
We visited Harris and Lewis a couple of years ago and found the church at Rodel. What an amazing building and so much history. I don't know if you are aware but the island opposite the beach at Luskentyre is Taransay which was where Ben Fogle appeared in the TV series Castaway. We have just come back from a week on Benbecula and the Uists. The beaches were amazing and one location which blew us away was Eriskay. Well worth a visit whenever you fancy a change of scenery.
Loved the wild weather and landscapes, stunning white beaches and green/turquoise sea, the light and the clouds, and best of all, no other people. Could do with some more trees, but I read only today that there are quite a few projects on the islands getting more trees planted. Lovely video, and the puppydogs were so good on the ferry.
Isle of Lewis and Harris are just stunning! We visited last September and were super lucky with the weather but even in a miserable day it’s stunning! The Highlands and Islands are special places for sure x
I live 20 minutes from Glasgow this looks just stunning we’ve been talking about doing a tour of Scotland & it’s definitely in the cards the beaches & pleases we’re just stunning ur both lovely & ur two beautiful fur babies iv got a little chihuahua she would live this thank u
I totally agree with what you said, driving around is the best way to discover a new place. I’ve had the chance to visit Scotland twice, once driving and once on bus tours, and definitely, driving, although a bit challenging, gave us the freedom to discover. Great video guys, can’t wait to see Lewis!!
We live in the far north of the Scottish highlands and since moving that what we do a lot, drive around and find unexpected places to explore. I share this adventures on our YT channel too x
Re: the woman carving in the outer wall. I believe it’s a Sheela na gig, some scholars say she’s a fertility symbol, others say she’s a warning against lust, others say she’s to ward off evil. Whatever her origins, she’s another of those pagan “goddesses” worked into Christian churches to sway the pagans to buy in. Thanks so much for taking us on your vacation. I had a lovely time. 😊 Oh, and your Attenborough impression made me spit out my tea in laughter! Well done.
I like that inclusion of your song titles! These videos are great for us to enjoy, but also what a wonderful collection for you to remember your life together!
I watched it again. The drone footage with the sound of the sea and then the Epic Landscape music (I loved the primal drumbeat - was it a baurahn?), it's a real feast for the senses!
Luskentyre has to be one of the most beautiful beaches and landscape in the world and at low tide when the sea disappears or seems to and there is a vast expanse of sand it is almost magical. I once had a picnic on that beach on the August Bank Holiday and we had the whole place to ourselves. In the two years I lived there it never ceased to amaze me. Harris really is a stunning place to visit and explore.
Now that's what I needed after a busy day of working on my parents house a relaxing and beautiful video from Willie and Sarah and Jack and Nori....from weather extremes to stunning scenery the outer Hebrides does not disappoint...the boys really know how to enjoy the beach....looking forward to next week...Karl from eastern Canada...Happy Victoria day weekend👑👑👑
Sarah and Willie the picture of the cow with the grass dunes behind on the island was absolutely picturesque and Sarah you would do justice by painting it and hanging it in your cottage. It is stunning. Loved the hobbit building that was a Cafe and St Clemens church what a lovely day out. The beach is stunning and the sea a lovely colour made me think of the beaches in Durban in South Africa where I used to go on holiday when I lived in Johannesburg 28 years ago. Thank you for taking us on your trip I feel like I have been on a holiday.
This was such a pleasure to watch - looks like you had a wonderful holiday. I've been to Skye but never got over to Harris - it's now on my wish list. Fab video.
Luskentyre may look like the Whitsundays in Australia but there are a couple of differences! One- no stinging sea creatures: two- less chance of heat stroke and sunburn: three- far fewer people so you have a better chance of really enjoying the glorious surroundings: four- no flies or mozzies. I can say these things with great certainty as an Ozzie who has been to both! Great episode! Thanks
Sarah and Willie today you have made an oldie couple very happy in deed , we watched your Hebredies video with so much pleasure as it brought back so many happy times of our holidays on that amazing island ...we had our holidays in quite many places soaking in all the magical views and spectacular colours of the sea and yes even taking a paddle as Sarah did , as we no longer travel so far, we can only watch others like yourselves enjoy the beauty of such places and say thank you for sharing them with us ...and wow didnt the boys (Jack Spaniels and Nori )love it also.....🥰😊
That was a really lovely video! You put it together so well with all the beautiful scenery shots. Loving your music Willie! It blends so nicely with your video. Your woofers had a great time and I expect they slept really well at the end of those fab days zooming around on the beaches! You guys are living the dream! Keep doing what lights you up and Sparkle On! 🤩✨💖
Ahh thanks so much!! We had an amazing time and can’t wait to share the rest of the trip with you all 😊 Safe to say, we all slept very week each night!
Always wanted to visit the Hebrides.. just look at our beautiful country.. it’s amazing.. so much history and culture of our ancestors.. long may it continue ❤
Thank you for taking us along on your adventure to Harris! I particularly enjoyed Willie's David Attenborough impersonation while Sarah was photographing the seals. Spot on! Harris looks gorgeous and you really made me want to go visit it now. That MASSIVE beach with that gorgeous turquoise water 😍The Scottish Isles should hire you guys to do their tourism advertisements. The deal is: They pay for you to travel places and you make this sort of video about wherever you go.
Another fantastic video!!!! Willie's impersonation was spot on, I thought I was watching an seal documentary. The Isle of Harris is very picturesque. Thanks for taking us with you on your vacation. Hugs to you both and the pups! 🐑🐏🦭 🐕🏖
What a wonderful time you four are having. So good that your cold is getting better Sarah, and your energy levels are sooo much better now Will. Those two rascals are having the best time of their lives, on holiday with you two. What a great family you are. xxx
Many years ago, 1967, my sister and I spent one day n Lewis. I grew up hearing about how my Stewart ancestors left for the New World from Srornoway. For some reason, long forgotten, long forgotten, I HAD to take a boat ride. Thee fisherman who took us thought I was totally mad, and it poured buckets the whole day! But it was fun. I only wish we could have spent more time there. So I am enjoying your and the puppies’ escapades thoroughly which a dose of envy. Thank you so much for sharing sharing them! PS I live in the Hudson Vally, just north of NewYork City. Not quite the Hebrides, but the best I can do at this stage of my life!! 💕🌷 Forgive the typos and repetitions. It’s called a senior moment! 9i’m 79 with vision issues!
Thank you for such a wonderful trip you have taken us on today on the Isle Of Harris. Can't wait to see next week on the Isle of Lewis. You two (four) bring such a happy feeling in every thing you do. Enjoy. And my mouth is watering for one of those Chocolate Brownies!
Wow! Thank you for taking us to the Isle of Harris! Such brilliant water colors! I'm a beachcomber and would be loving these looking for treasures! The wee lambs are so sweet!

Could do with some more trees, but I read only today that there are quite a few projects on the islands getting more trees planted. Lovely video, and the puppydogs were so good on the ferry.
The trouble they have with trees is the wind and the storms on the islands, but hope they can figure a way to get more trees growing on the islands. X
Oh my gosh-thank you so much for letting us tag along. Just stunning, and I have to say my eyes leaked a bit 😍
Isle of Lewis and Harris are just stunning! We visited last September and were super lucky with the weather but even in a miserable day it’s stunning! The Highlands and Islands are special places for sure x
Thank you both for taking us with you on þhis beautiful adventure. How wonderful to see landscapes untouched by humanity!
Absolutely stunning place thank you for sharing ❤
Re: the woman carving in the outer wall. I believe it’s a Sheela na gig, some scholars say she’s a fertility symbol, others say she’s a warning against lust, others say she’s to ward off evil. Whatever her origins, she’s another of those pagan “goddesses” worked into Christian churches to sway the pagans to buy in. Thanks so much for taking us on your vacation. I had a lovely time. 😊
Oh, and your Attenborough impression made me spit out my tea in laughter! Well done.
Ohhh thanks for this info!
Love your videos and seeing the amazing scenery and of course the 2 spaniels ❤
The music is so beautiful and so fitting for this video
Superb watch. Many thanks 😊😊😊😊
You gotta love it in all weathers!!
Love the camera footage, epically beautiful and I love Willie’s music playing in the background. Perfect!
Thank you for this extra long episode. Fabulous scenery. Reminded us of a trip to Harris some years ago. Must go again!
Thanks
Ahahah yes and fewer gigantic spiders! Although when I (Sarah) was there is was apparently ‘storm season’ so the weather was almost as changeable 🤣
Sarah and Willie today you have made an oldie couple very happy in deed , we watched your Hebredies video with so much pleasure as it brought back so many happy times of our holidays on that amazing island ...we had our holidays in quite many places soaking in all the magical views and spectacular colours of the sea and yes even taking a paddle as Sarah did , as we no longer travel so far, we can only watch others like yourselves enjoy the beauty of such places and say thank you for sharing them with us ...and wow didnt the boys (Jack Spaniels and Nori )love it also.....🥰😊
Thanks so much!! So glad you enjoyed it 😊
What fun! Thanks for taking us along.
The scenery is super stunning, my kind of holiday, no peeps 😊, great video guys.
You have really outdone yourself with this video. Thank you for showing me beautiful Scotland. ❤
Ahh thanks so much!!
Really super vlog. Such an unspoiled area. Hope you really enjoyed. 😃🎉
Wonderful work you two, the drone shots were incredible and I’m keen as mustard for that honesty box, big love to you all x
Beautiful filming! Thank you.
Thanks so much!! Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Another fantastic video!!!! Willie's impersonation was spot on, I thought I was watching an
seal documentary. The Isle of Harris is very picturesque. Thanks for taking us with you
on your vacation. Hugs to you both and the pups! 🐑🐏🦭 🐕🏖
LOVE YOU ALL
The sound of those w@ves 😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ thank you xoxo
Camped at Luskentyre in the late 60's and had two fabulous holidays. Your pictures bought back many happy memories. Thank you.
What a beautiful vacation, I really love the Church and the stones. Absolutely stunning 😍😍😍😍😍 Thank you
What a wonderful time you four are having.
Hi Beatrice! So glad you’re enjoying the videos and that they can bring back some nice memories 😊👍
Thank you for sharing your lovely holiday in Harris & doing all the walking for me
Jack Spaniels and Nori are so blessed to go on adventures with you. I'm sure they slept well every night!
They did indeed!
Looks amazing, what a great place.
Amazing landscapes!!
