- As we continue to prepare for the 2019 season, we take a look at one of our many tools in the mining arsenal. The X Stream Hybrid Pro Hand Dredge.
This will be a 2 part series with the X Stream Hybrid Pro Hand Dredge. Today we will un-box the hand dredge, assemble it, and discuss some of the cool features. The next video we take it out into the field to do some prospecting as the snow and ice begin to melt....again.

Does your state or even country restrict certain types of mining equipment? If so, what do you think of hand dredges?
In my country you can only use hand pumps .I've seen a 6ft long by 4inch number . I've went through 2 different hand made versions omg were is the brufen lol .happy days mind you .back before the pirate was conceived . Now it's going to be 480 bucket's phr when my -new Keene finnaily gets here . Forgot to say , that sluice is very like my drop rifflel hungry haggis . I rate them one of the best I've ever used .cheers
Wandering Buffalos Prospecting good exercises with hand dredges. Most use in winter when water is cold.
No special restricts in Norway longes owner allowed the alluvial mining to prospecting.
Hard rock mining is another story.
That thing is pretty sweet!
Lovely tool, use it 2years now. Special in wintertime, when snow and ice are in the creek, happy 2019 prospecting ⛏⛏🤠🎻

Hello you crazy dredgers, seeing you guys use the hand pump ,reminds me of why I started dredging lol . I was out last week with a old friend and I am so out of practice with the with the Henderson pump that I took to the shuvel lol . I use to move 40 buckets a day with my hand dredge lol .now I've forgotten about the sore backs Arrrrr, great review of a very effective little pump . ☠👍👍👍⛏💙🛀
Hahahaha Pirate Dredger...its a hell of an arm workout for sure. But it can get some hard to reach material very quietly, lol!!!!

I can dredge in NH but that sure looks a lot lighter to be able to get to better places!!
Does the hand dredge blow back on the downward stroke? It looks like it does a bit, just wondering if that would blow gold out of the crevasse. Seems like those one way valves allow some water to blow back before closing.
That valve mechanism is critical to have .if I had that part I could build it on my own.
Where could I get only the valve parts from?

Don't the ripples in the hose cause gold to get caught (and then potentially lost) within the hose? Also possibly causing blockage?
Yes it can. After you are done, disconnect the hose from the bucket and stick the hose inside the bucket. Flush water through the hose after you disconnect it from the pump. But we are looking at smooth walled houses that are flexible to replace it.

This would work much better with an electric water pump of some kind.
That could be an option. I know this product and many DIY ones were created in California which doesn't allow any kind of motorized pump. We still want to try it out fully submerged too. Thanks for watching Ogre!!!!!
