We wandered back up to the mighty Fortymile Mining District with Gold Fever Prospecting and spent a day on Keene's 6" Super Max dredge. It did not disappoint. This is Keene's next generation of gold dredges that are designed for the recovery of super fine gold. The exact model we ran is the Super Max Sump Dredge and we would not have had this great of a capture rate with a standard 6" dredge. I’m glad you’re enjoying your Supermax and it’s working out so well for you on the 40 mile. I designed that Dredge specifically for the ultra fine gold in the Philippines. The first prototype had a single 20 inch box in the center but we found two boxes on the sides was far easier to clean out. So Mark and Patrick Keene put the two box design in production. @@realmccoy1905 ~Dominican Republic has a gold mine with the (1st) highest production of gold in all of Latin America, called the Pueblo Viejo gold mine. Also this mine was 3rd or 4th largest production of gold in the world which was 30.1 tons of gold.

Holy smokes you have some equipment! It's going to take a lot of hold to pay for those toys. Awesome day!
Why? If they catch 20 gr per day and make $1500~ after refined, they pay that dredge in 10 days. And maybe other gear in another 10. Less than a month of using it will help them to recoup everything.
Great dredge, I wonder if Keene will ever go with electric motors and batteries that you could just swap out when low
So, no more fuel bills or getting fuel into remote area's.
No idea to be honest. I know there are propane conversion kits but for batteries you will probably need quite a few to get enough power. Would be interesting though.

Nice work! I dig the dredge! What brand of gloves are ya using? My Glacier Gloves lasted one day 😂 and I’m just working the creeks old school style (shovel, pick, classifiers, and sometimes a sluice too).

Nice video. Sweet Dredge. How long can you run this dredge without cleaning it up ?
I think it depends. With all the fine gold up there I would still want to clean the dredge out at the end of every day but not multiple times as day. The flow control on the side boxes really allows material to settle in the mats if it runs to the end of the main box and down into the sump.
I’m planning on getting up there in July, 2022. I’m curious, instead of wearing out your gloves and fingers, why not use a tool to hack away at the rocks? Is there some sort of operational reason I may not be aware of never having run a dredge?

No license required to float it down river up there since it is not considered a watercraft.

We were up there for a couple of weeks this year and did about 8-9 hours on average. We spend a few days testing new areas with the owner so didn't dredge the entire trip but still great gold...its a secret. :)
Just wondering how much for that whole setup what time of the year were y'all there I don't know I'm not a professional but the way it looked like maybe you were losing a little gold in that middle sluice box I didn't see no pan at the end of it but like I said I'm no professional nice gold wish I was there 👌👍
From Keenes site the dredge starts at $10k and depends on the type of engines, side boxes and of course the main sluice. This one had the sump that catches all the fine material and sends it to the two side boxes with less water flow to capture as much gold as possible. There will always be a loss so you make sure you move as much material as possible. We did test pan our tailings a few times and only found a few stray specks.

Seems An up pointing pistol grip handle or combo ,along with a slingshot type forearm brace would help direct the nozzle of the hose ,but you never see any real alterations of the existing ways of handling the hose ,which seems frustrating sometimes .

How about preparing the banks first by losing it all up. Then turn on the dredge and save gas and power to suck up the loosened up material already. By loosing material when the dredge is on is a waste of gas.

Why would you rinse out the first sluice mats? YOU HAD GOLD. Even the chick had a bottle ready to grab some. There is no reason to take already trapped and mostly clean gold and run it back through to another sluice hoping to catch it.
All I can think of is why not turn it off and pan all that

Great video! I'm wondering about your dive equipment. Are those wet or dry suits you guys are using?
Wetsuits....water temp was about 47 degrees fahrenheit.
How hard is it to get that thing into the water? Can you do it alone or need at least 2 people?
Its a beast for sure. You assemble the main components in the water to make it easier. Tow with a boat and if needed a wench. Its a dredge to stay on the claim, not a weekend trip.

I don't know about that "water detection" machines, but I have been in the mineral and water detection business for about 30 years now and so far I have tested a lot of machines, only to find they did not work and the money spent went down the drain. My water Dowsing is a hundred% accurate and I do it from a photograph off of Google earth images. Of course I find other things also, like precious-metals, graves, crude-oil. I can scan five to ten square miles from a Google Earth image in about a day and mark the water or mineral locations, large and small. I also discriminate the type of element, for example I can tell any one of the six platinum group metals apart from one another. And I can detect all of the stable elements on the chart of elements. I have done over 300 blind tests to this affect. I am not at all limited on depth detection. I did an oil deposit that was 6800 feet deep. Many of my blind teste were private people giving me permission to scan their houses and marking where their values were.

@@ProspectorFrank it will definitely make things more comfortable. However, wearing 6.5mm farmer johns that are semi dry wetsuits we were never cold. 3mm gloves, 5mm boots, and a hood are needed regardless.
