- My spontaneous hair regrowth story. How my hair was friction burned off the top of my head but then grew back thicker. I dive into what and why this might have happened.

It's been almost 12 months since I stopped using shampoo! I now wash my hair with Apple cider vinegar and tea. I try my best not to let it get dry, I use coconut oil and castor oil. My hair has gotten way thicker and is growing faster than it ever has. I also massage it near every day. Greasy hair is NOT gross.
i only use olive oil bar soap for now and if you wash twice it doesnt look gresy but then if youre gonna strip the oils from the hair there would be no difference to shampooing and so i do it only once, i have scalp pain due to long years of strict tying and started doing daily massages, if i skip a day it starts hurting
what kind of tea do you use? i only have rosemary atm
@@eduche1 Rosemary is so good! I use black tea because caffeine promotes hair growth, it also takes the oil out of my hair. I also use yarrow. I pick the leaves and then soak them in water for a while and use the tea. For me, apple cider vinegar works the best and if you want your hair more clean you can put a little less than a teaspoon full or baking soda in with the vinegar and water.
@@changed7226 Your hair routine sounds so good for the issues I have. What's your technique for rinsing your hair comfortably? Whenever I try to do apple cider vinegar rinses I stop because I get frustrated even though it makes my hair so shiny and soft
I get about a cup and a half of water and put about 2 tablespoons of Apple cider vinegar in with it. Then when I'm in the shower I just gradually pour it on my head and message it in and then rinse it out. You want to make sure you don't use your finger nails to clean, just your finger tips.
how are you using the tea?

I used to watch your breakdance videos and tutorials back in the day. It’s so awesome to see you killing the UA-cam game still
Your hair goes through cycles of shedding and regrowing but normally it's all mixed. The spot on your head grew back all at once and it's on the same cycle. If it's thick again months from now it's probably that
I think the skate helmet played a vital role in recovery.. applying pressure to the surrounding area allowed blood flow to target the area where the helmet was broken which in your case is the bald spot.. Enhanced blood flow allowed more oxygen to flow through the area which was becoming callous.. Hence, the more thicker hair..
Also, being upside down probably helped too. Sending a lot of blood into that area.
Man, you never fail to entertain.
Theory: What if burning wasn't the root cause of the regrowth but increased blood flow (Caused by burning or you being upside down)? Which in turn caused a better removal of DHT in the scalp. I feel like I had thicker hair when I was doing Aerial Yoga, which is often in an upside down position in a hammock. I should start being upside down more often and test this theory myself, maybe you're interested in that yourself?
10:05 EDIT: since you stopped being upside down, maybe this is also the reason your spot became less populated with hair, again?
This is an interesting theory!
If that’s the case then shouldn’t the whole head of hair grow more not just one spot?
I've seen another video where a person burned their scalp and their bald scalp regrew hair, and the hair remained. There might be something to the application of heat.
@@FocusedLucas Sounds like more inversion theory testing is required for hair growth and remediation!
@@Suds1407 The reason for baldness is too much DHT in the skin. It’s in very distinct places because the skin sags with age and has less blood circulation in places the scalp is having most pressure on the skin, which is the back spot of the head and the sides in the front. So the skin will have trouble removing DHT.
Having more blood flow in general does not necessarily mean more hair growth. In non bald areas there’s just sufficient removal of DHT. You can’t go less than nothing.
My theory is not wether sufficient blood flow in the scalp will remove DHT, (this is already proven) but wether being upside down (or a burn) increases blood flow enough to reduce DHT concentration in the scalp.
🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
03:03 😱 Spinning on your head for extended periods of time can cause hair loss in that area due to pressure and friction.
03:16 🏋️♀️ Allowing the bald spot to heal and avoiding further spinning can allow the hair to grow back in the affected area.
05:46 💡 Microtrauma to the skin, such as microneedling, can stimulate a healing response and potentially promote hair regrowth.
08:39 🌱 Combining microneedling with topical minoxidil (Rogaine) can significantly increase hair count compared to either treatment alone.
09:08 🧪 Preliminary results suggest that microneedling may induce hair regrowth, but further investigation is needed.
09:49 😮 The regrown hair in the bald spot appears to be thinner now compared to when it first grew back twice as thick.
10:32 🔍 The bald spot in the center of the head is not typical of male pattern baldness.
11:16 💥 The bald spot may have come back over time due to continued head spinning without proper protection.
11:31 💉 Micro needling the spot could potentially promote hair regrowth, but caution is advised and professional guidance is recommended.
god send
Much appreciated
Love your videos. I have an adventurous 2-year-old boy and hope he grows up to be as explorative as you are!
this is pretty interesting. hopefully scientists dive deeper into this for hair growth and hair graying, etc.
Love the young focused Lucas stories! I think a lot of people would just tune it to injury/training/etc. anecdotes
Lol glad you enjoy them!
I have an interesting anecdote about this: I broke my humerus twice, had it in a brace for 3 months, got it out, broke it again, 3 more months and 6 months of physical therapy. More relevantly, during this time my elbow grew a bunch of hair. Like, it was clearly hairy once it came out of the brace. I looked it up and the extra bloodflow is the cause. Interesting.
Same experience, at 16 years old, when I removed the 2 casters of my arms, I had hairs on my hands that I had not 2 month before I broke my arms.
Thank you for the video, I love doing headspins and I've also been worried a little bit about this, since I've been breakdancing for years.
Luckily I have good hair. Lately, I also don't often get the possibility to do headspins, so my hair is still fine for now.
The trick with the helmet that spreads the pressure to other spots was a genius move haha
but can you still do a head spin
Yes, microneedling works, I’ve been doing it for three months alongside other treatments and my hair is growing thicker and I have a few newer hairs.
The new "bald spot" you referred to could be caused by traction alepecia due to overuse of headphones. However more likely it's due to the natural process of your hair thinning out as you age. That was the first spot I noticed thinning when my hair started to thin out in my late thirties.
I don't have any precedent for balding in my kin. :) There is one guy who is balding proper, but he's an alcy. The rest just get somewhat thinner hair very gradually. I have very thick hair. We also don't really grey. My grandma only started getting more than the stray hair within the last year, at age 77 or 78.
He is clearly not balding. Dude has negative hair loss
Thank you for existing pal
Fascinating and cool! I've been gently resurfacing my skin every week using the Plasma Pen with the fractional tip and will take a break on the 10th session. As I've had a hair transplant on 28 June 2023 and a PRP on 26 July 2023, I noticed there was a lot of stimulation when using my handheld near infrared lamp. I noticed further stimulation with Plasma + fractional tip on the scalp in 3 passes, but much more thorough on the face, yet felt stimulation towards the bangs/fringe, even before going onto the scalp. Maybe this would be good therapy for those wishing to remove a callus for improved regrowth.
34 years old. I spent 20 years of my life breaking. (Never got into headspins. Too hard. Lol). But knew a TON of guys who this was just a life long issue. Also about 3 years into my weight lifting journey. Stoked to have found this channel.
I wanted to thank you for suggesting the MSM Pure & Natural Lotion and the Avalon Organics Therapy Thickening Shampoo. I bought both and really like both. I had been using Aveeno lotion in my hair for years, so I was intrigued when you said you use the MSM lotion in your hair. I tried it and it really works great. I wondered how the MSM lotion would work in the shower as a conditioner after the Avalon shampoo. It actually worked really well that way too. My hair felt clean and soft. I would love if you gave the lotion as a conditioner a try. Thanks for letting me know about those products. Love them
"I think I deleted it out of shame" made me cry laughing just at how many times I've found myself in a similar situation at a similar point in my transition from child to adult
I’m 42 and I did head spins back in the 90s, sometimes on concrete like a fool. Early 2000s I did it with a beanie quite often. I had to cut down on doing them because it would make my scalp hurt. I always noticed it affecting my hair and then in 2010 I was like “shit, I’m going bald up there” so I stopped completely. Now in 2023, it’s noticeably thinner up there. I may try shaving my head in the future to see if I can stimulate some growth. As of now, I’m using Bringha oil as my daily hair supplement. Makes my hair nice and soft. No more head spins is key. When you stop, clean your scalp with baking soda and use white iodine to kill off any bacteria from the nasty floor or beanie. There’s more I can share about this if anyone is interested, I can make a video on it.
I had the same problem when I training headspin. After the break, I still have less hair in this place ;/
I've been a guitar player for many years now and have developed a permanent callus and can say that it has decreased nerve sensitivity at my fingertips by a lot. Maybe as a test for callus, try taking your fingernails and lightly scratching or poking that headspin bald spot skin area and compare if it feels less sensitive than the surrounding skin area on your head.
bro you have a full head of hair . I suffer from male pattern baldness and its so embarrassing...but I fight with 7% minoxidil and it kinda works ..just be happy you have perfect hair
Minox is not enough, get on finasteride or its a losing battle. You can get sprays now with both that had minimal sides!
@@RoxusRemohey ! Any brand to recommend ?
Yes, Finasteride works 1 tab a day before bed or at the same time daily. Just give it time to notice benefits. Patience is key.
What an amazing story about your hair. I am glad you still learned to spin upside down and found a way to keep your hair!
i have a similar experience, i burned the skin off a part of my wrist from steam from a rice cooker, and after it healed, the hair grew back more and thicker on and around that area so much so that i have unbalanced hair on one wrist (only on the burn spot and roughly 1 inch around it), so yes there has to be some science behind this..
Burning therapy confirmed?
What if it is from being upside down a lot in handstands and increasing bloodflow to the head?
Thanks for this video, I’ve just taken an electrical sander to my noggin, and eagerly await my new head of hair!
microneedling works. as a standalone, or in conjunction with minoxidil. I've been passing the microneedles (dermaroller) on my scalp immediately after applying MXDL 5% - still wet, that is - twice-ish a day (every 2 to 4 days I'll leave it to one application) and it works just grrrreat! 3 steps back on Norwood scale, and I'm 57 YO !
Nice. What dermaroller size you use?
1,5 mm - apply on scalp that's wet with minoxidil, so it penetrates deeper easier
@@diemme568 Thanks a lot
Btw personally i found rosemary oil works as good as minoxidil, without side effect. And there is also a popular research comparing both item.
I must try these microneedles. Because I had the same problem when I training headspin. After the break, I still have less hair in this place ;/
In Iran, we shave the head if we want to make it grow back with more density.
Dose it work
Interesting. My dad is from Iran, he is in his 60's with a full head of hair.
Don't know if he has ever done this though.
I myself have a habit of shaving my head when I'm grieving or depressed, never knew why, maybe it's an instinct to keep my hair growing?
@@Michael-Archonaeusno it doesn't work. It's pretty much just a myth that hair grows back darker and thicker After shaving.
That is a myth. If this were true then all women would have wolf like leg hair from shaving all the time.
The men, or the women?
That looks amazing
I wonder how much just spending so much time upside down and stimulating your scalp led to your great hair. Do you have any siblings or close relatives to compare to? There are also hair growth theories about scalp stimulation, laxity, and blood flow. While you might be right about the spot on your head, looking at your overall hair it seems substantially thicker than most people your age. Spinning on your head upside down seems like the most intense way to get blood and stimulation to the scalp. Would be fascinating to learn more about your training routine, how you would take breaks in between practice, how many minutes per day were you upside down, how many months did you do this practice. Also would be interesting to see an analysis of break dancers to see if there is healthier than normal overall hair density. Finally if there was development of a product that sufficiently stimulates the scalp along with inversion therapy. The problem with microneedling is that it does not address laxity of the scalp or blood flow.
When I broke my hand and had surgery where I basically had wires/needles put all across my hand bones, in the time I had to wear my cask, hair started to grow all over my hand. Not thick but definitely noticeable.
Interesting, was it because of the cast or the wires do you think?
That is crazy!
@@ninopino12 I assumed it's because my body pumps all sorts of nutrients and growth hormones (I'm not a scientist) into that area to speed up the healing process, which then boosts things like hair grow as well
@@bababert8488 thats good thinking tbh, is the hair still there or did it fall off?
People microneedle (micro puncture wounding) to regrow hair so makes sense
Your hair style is cool
Interesting video. I run a 1mm dermaroller across my temples and hairline once a week. Noticing lil baby hairs growing again. Thanks for sharing.
i use a 1.5mm one and noticing similar. but i do also use an infrared sauna 2-3 times a week as well as using a scalp massager one to two times a week.
Where to buy one that's safe and not from ali-express?
@@CoyoteParkahahahah i would like to know too because i immediately thought of aliexpress
My cousin as a kid used to bite his forearm when he got angry, and the spot that he bit was almost as hairy as head hair. But as he grew up and stopped doing that it disappeared
I was like "what a whuss rugburning his own hair off" until I saw those spins, then I'm like now I understand. Looks dam cool spinning like that. Think I'll try and learn it myself :) So yeah, all you need is a little head trolley with wheels. Make a hat with wheels and you can do your spins without grinding your hair out. Now make a short music video with you spinning on your head to music please. We need that.
I got a hair transplant back in October, the best decision ever
Your hair is beautiful pigmie❤ 👌

Start doing microneedling and minoxidil early/now to retain all the luscious hair you have. MPMD has loads of awesome videos on hair loss. There are other products but those two methods will yield the best results early.
That won't prevent hair loss from progressing.
I heard minoxidil is not good...
@@leonkennedy8579 same. Causes Cancer I believe
I just hit my head on stuff. Blood flow :P I dunno but I am suppose to be more bald because of genetics. LOL
@@leonkennedy8579 It isn't. it can cause a lot of issues including heart issues. Dermarolling doesn't work either, but dermapen might. I've tried it all, nothing works so far.
having 2 caps one with layers like your helmet and other regular flat layer will make a difference but i had break from headspins like 6 months and you kinda always see the spot when you look for it , imo not a big price for a headspin even if i went bald , i didnt , i just grown my hair long on top and cover it , not really a big deal, its worse if you want to keep short hair on top then the spot is visible, theres also hair thinning as you age after 35 so its just way better to keep the hairstye like have now
I try microneedling alone (without mixodil) twice per week for 6 months, nothing happened, maybe it slow down little bit the fall, but I m not sure
may I ask where should one person document itself with research papers? I always wonted to document myself on various topics but I can't find a good source
what if it just regrew because you stopped spinning your head in that area ?
I will learn from this
Hey Pigmie, are you still on trampoline training flips?
But can u still head spin? Or do any other moves?
Those moves you did were pretty awesome though
Could be the increased blood flow from the mirco trauma from micro needleing or the burn. Also when you started the air flares you're still getting increased blood flow from the head down position but without the friction of the head on the ground so maybe just spending more time than most people in that position helped from the extra blood flow.
I just set my head on fire and will spend the next year sitting on my couch upside down to mimic Airflares. You sir saved me from going completely bold!
A friend of mine (a woman) started noticing her hair thinning in her 40s. She got it to grow thicker again with daily deep massage of her scalp to release dead skin cells & oil that build up in the pores & hair follicles.
Will you make a skit anytime soon ?
Since it's been over a year since we last had one
I think we were on Fake Weights Season 9 or 10
So all I have to do to grow back my hair is stop headspinning and take a lighter to my scalp? 😁
I'd start minoxidil and micro needling, finasteride as a last resort since it does have a lot more side effects. I use minoxidil and micro needle which stopped my hair loss and grew a small amount of my hairline back (which it's not exactly meant for). However I started taking finasteride since the effects weren't that substantial.
Your hair loss looks very minor and probably is from head spinning. I know when I used to skate it looked like I shaved my legs from the constant friction rubbing the hairs off 😆. Better to be proactive then reactive though.
Finasteride works just give it time. One tab before bed or same time everyday.
good that you starting taking finasteride. your hair line gains will probably be gone eventually when only treated with minoxidil because that hair is still prone to falling out. finasteride on the other hand will keep your hair gains hopefully for a long time or even forever. but remember that you have to take both min and fin for LIFE if you want to maintain because they work through different mechanisms so they can't be discontinued. Good thing is that you don't have to use min twice a day as advertised because it will stay in your system for a day, so once daily application should be fine and with fin or dut (dutasteride) you just have to pop a pill. just be consistent and stick to your routine and you hopefully enjoy your hair forever
Summer salt with hair is bad idea, ya gotta roll with your hand away from top of head or it will pinch.
And avoid hammocks cus they got the spool to get stick in.
Good spin.
microneedling is just tattooing without paint?
The weird thing is that if you have male pattern hair loss (androgenic hair loss male or female) then the hair het thinner first to not grow back eventually. So HOW can a hair grow back if the hair follicle is kinda dead because of atrophy.
I’m bald and I didn’t have to spin on my head at all.
I would never be able to spin on my head because I am a lot heavier than i was in my teens and early 20s. I was 140-150 lbs then and now I been 160-172lbs. I feel like my neck would snap even trying to do a head stand and my neck is 16 1/2. I hope you work out your neck because this looks like a mistake a way. I do think being upside down may have helped blood flow to the head but i has an inversion table 8 years ago and thought it might have helped the blood flow to my head and beign upside down also puts blood pressure to your eyes. I was realizing i had to not be upside down for longer than 1 minute. It was making my head hurt from pressure. I now have been using a massager on my head to try
if u started derma stamping it once a week itll thicken up and break up the callous kinda like breaking up scar tissue that gets in the way
This also reminds me of how being in a sauna produces heat-shock proteins.
Do it! I highly recommend microneedling at a hair clinic. Avoid the roller, and opt for the punch. Proven track records.
same as needling you create an injury and your body sends growth factors to heal the injury
I really hesitated clicking on this vid because I thought it was some parody. I really like your breakdancing stories.
My theory is that during the healing process the part that healed might have adapted to be less succeptible to the testosterone that causes hair to fall out. Maybe
What needle size for scalp?
Yes, microneedling, and also you can train scalp muscles. But using minoxidil is to my opinion a bad idea since you need to do it forever and it is just not pleasant process. Also it is a very interesting studies about finasteride, it seems to be completely safe and working from a very little dosage, like 0,2 mg daily.
A little basic accounting (Present Value Equation) says that 30 years of products to keep a head of hair will cost a small fortune, not to mention the time investment. A set of clippers is less than $20 US and _saves_ you time and money. Your mileage may, of course, vary.
Listen to this man be bald and grow a beard. Also hats are $25 and last for years.
@@ronburgandy7571 Nothing wrong with shaving your head bald. I still wear hats with my long hair. Better than sunglasses and I can wear it at night still.
So..? You fail to account that for some people they consider a high price to be worth it. Maybe they really value a full head of hair more than the money. Maybe they have so much money that it’s a moot point altogether. Are you autistic or something?
More blood flow to the area?
Also when you messed your elbow up did it cause what people call popey elbow??
Started watching you for your bboy videos. Such a throwback watching that old practice footage haha. Happy to see how you’ve grown over the years!
@pigmie can you do more research on microneedling, there's a great UA-cam channel (Holistic Living if I'm not mistaken) and it worked for them pretty well
Well inversion or upside down increase blood flow to scalp
Mpmd should cover this
bro iam just 17 and facing insane hairloss and hairline receding pls do a video about it
What about micro electrocuting the scalp?
All that blood flow to your scalp during handstand airflares probably helped hair growth.
Daily finasteride, topical minoxidil and 1x a week microneedleing saved my hair. My hair dresser noticed that my hair was thicker than ever and asked me what I was doing. If youre balding, and you want your hair, do something about it.
what size derma roller you use man?
@@RoxusRemo I use the Dr Pen A6 micro needle system, Derek from MPMD has a video about how the roller can actually tear and cause damage as opposed to an actual microneedler that moves in a straight line. I use a numbing vitamin E lotion before cuz it's hurt like a mofo for me. But 100% saved my hair
@@Ataraxia_Atom yea roller is shit used it with no results, pen might be decent but hairloss is quite bad. i try it with brennnessel (german word) i punch it on the thin haired spot and yeah i hope it works :D maybe i tell you in a few time
The special helmet probably stretched your scalp skin and massaged the muscles on the sides. When those muscles are tight it causes hair loss
its similar to micro needling for sure. First thing I thought when you said you hair grew back.
