CHALLENGE!! As Chile, annex every provence that touches the Pacific Ocean. Also, you can only annex tiles touching the Pacific Ocean so any other provinces you conquer have to be satellited or puppeted. :)
That just sounds painful, how long do you think until Alex does it

1 div training does still work. It just scales slowly for about 1,5 years till it gives full experience.
I know this is evil mentioning another UA-camr, but check our feedback video on his version on getting xp.
@@Ziddel Not if you play allied minor that focuses on something specific and can hold off recruiting divisions till 1939. Also you can do that as Soviets or USA till 1940 and still have enough time to recruit enough divisions before the war.

1 division training strat doesn't work anymore, you have to merge them to full equipment and manpower and then excercize whatever's left
"Just spam infantry" is actually a very viable USSR strategy. I know I've done it quite a few times. Infantry gives you a lot of HP to soak through, the USSR can pump out a ton of them compared to more standard mixed tactics. You won't get the epic encirclements or something but I found it very easy to just grind down the Axis offense and basically Battleplan my way to counter attacks via it.
It lacks the issues that say, the All Heavy Tonk challenge did (Lacking HP and such).
Granted this is made a little more difficult when you declare war on the allies for no good reason. xD
Mass infantry is incredibly effective. If you can get green air or throw on enough AA to get rid of the enemy air superiority penalty. All you need is to build 1 army group of 14/4s. And blobs of bodies defend while you push with the shock troops.
thats more or less what i did, and germany had no chance. Infantry with shovels and anti tank support and arty support was my best division.

I thought in China in some cities there was like one camera for 4/5 people. You also have to show your face to a camera to get toilet paper in public bathrooms and if you jaywalk your face is plastered on a screen above the street and a cop comes over and tickets you. Sounds pretty screwed up to me. Wouldn't surprise me if they were spying on everyone.
You think it's laggy at 323 divisions in 1940 try playing hoi4 in 1945 when Germany the soviets and USA All have 1k divisions each while on a laptop that can barely run the game at 60 fps
Late game is just cancer. I wish they at least tried to optimize it a bit.
@@PadaV4 true its so bad I think nukes should be buffed and divs without any, generals should have big penalty's to div org def an attack so late game stops being frustrating pray your divisions can push and 999k large air force.

Challenge - As the USSR, use only Katyusha (motorized rocket artillery) divisions. Your divisions must have at least 25% rocket artillery, and you can only use motorized rocket artillery and motorized infantry. If you REALLY want to do this though, your divisions should be 100% rocket artillery.

I played almost the same kinda game yesterday, 3 full army groups with 40widths with inf, 2 aa, 2 at and 2 arty + support eq. They never passed the Daugava and Dnieper rivers(or my 10lvl forts at Vitebsk); however the Italians naval invaded from Bulgaria, and held Stalingrad for 2 weeks. Worked like a charm!

Feedback Gaming said before (it could have changed) that in Singleplayer there's pretty much no use in making AT Guns, just add support AA to your divisions and you will be fine against the AI's incompetent armor. (Yes, AA has Piercing. Because IRL we learned that AA guns can be surprisingly good against armor. Think of the Flak 88. Or the Flakpanzer 1 and Panzer II using 2 different variants of the same 20mm autocannon.)

An idea for a video. I released a challenge in My Road to 56 a long time ago to just form Prussia as Danzig. You can't use any other mods except the italy companion mod, and ironman mode ofc.

I used infantry only with Greece for the majority of my latest Ironman save. I ended up in an unholy alliance with German Empire and Russia, and after a few smaller wars I marched my 500k Greeks to China where they then beat the snot out of China and Japan. It was after 1945 by the time I started to filter in mechanized infantry and armoured divisions, or really build an airforce!
The game ended with Greece 4th on score (I don't like the scoring method, I was vastly the largest power in terms of industry, navy, and land, I just had my navy consolidated into fewer, larger fleets and hadn't gathered quite so much air superiority). I had lost just over 1 million men, and killed over 20 million from France, GB, China and Japan (a second time) and the USA. That save eventually made me realise how powerful intensive strategic bombing can be to demolish your opponents supply lines, it's the main way I was able to power through the USA.
By far my favourite Ironman game yet. My one annoyance was not being able to declare war on Bulgaria at any stage 😥

Alex, if you had built level 3 or 4 land forts on your land border with Germany, then set the garrison to hold forts, every division you made would only sit in the forts along whatever border you built forts.

the division experience penalty for converting troops means you'll only really be losing 16% or so, so what people started doing these days, is training troops with out of date equipment, on a division template with no artillery for instance, then converting to another division template only after they hit level 3, which does knock them back down to level 2, but now going from that point to get to 3 ISN'T nearly as far to go. so far fewer equipment is lost through this method. you'll need to remember they still lose equipment using this method, but the trick is, you'd be using up far less equipment through training this way.

As Germany only use tanks( rules: can use support division, navy and air force stay same, since you can’t get naval invasion stuff for tanks take awhile you can use only paratroopers and marines, division’s from other countries is allowed, motorized and mechanized divisions are not allowed.)
For the algorithm
putting strongholds behind the river with infanterie divisions did help me against the germans as i played with the soviets. In the end though the allies attacked and utterly destroyed everything with their overpowered airforce and a-bombs. No chance at all^^
This human wall strategy will be fun if you do the following: 1. modify the tactics file, find guerilla tactics and set the factor to 400. 2. enter the game, learn a land doctrine that gives you guerilla tactics. 3. have divisions with infantries and aa support, no artillery or anti tank needed. You can hold the line forever even with guns only.
in addition, if you have the special trait that reduces enemy air support by 50%, you don't even need air force. You can make a video that uses infantry only, hold the line for 3 years without losing any land tiles, and win the game.

Only naval and air as US. (it actually works really well, just build subs, carriers, heavy fighters and strat bombers and your allies actually do the rest)

Its been a while but I did the human wall thing not really thinking of it as a challenge so maybe its changed since I did it. At the time I found rocket brigades were really useful along with arty and at.

Challenge that I haven't seen a single person attempt. As Turkey, defeat the soviet union when the montreau convention focus is denied. Montreau convention must be your first focus.

Challenge, the micro-pro challenge, you can't use battleplans or anything, you can only personally order troops to attack, everything is allowed as long as it's not using the battleplans
hope it won't be too much of a hassle if you do it cause of the hole thing with your wrist or whatever it was that made you not do it in the start
