- Today we return to Hearts of Iron 4 with the first disaster save from No Step Back. This time I'll try and save a German Empire in a bit of a pickle but I somehow make a simple save much worse.

Idea: play a normal hoi4 game as Germany. Play as you normally would until Barbarossa, where after you get them relatively close to capitulating you tagswitch to the Soviet’s and try to survive

@@matteoclementi If the Americans hadn't entered at the time they did the french soldiers would have mutinied and France would have dropped out and the British had too carry them during the whole thing anyways because if they hadn't France would have been overrun

I don't think the difficulty levels change the combat difficulty do they? It's just fuel usage and PP/XP gain from memory.
@@Jackcarr87 When on Civilian you get 10% less supply consumption, 50% less fuel consumption and 72 hours supply grace before you account for the massive production boosts you get like 30% more on the production cap or the -80% penalty for lack of resources, the army you work with on civi is completely different to what is is possible on regular

*Flashbacks from a week ago when my friend and I tried Hoi MP and did German-Soviet Axis and he flooded my border with soviet troos and I, not realizing this for quite some time, was unable to push in the Netherlands and Belgium, while Italy was pushing into southern France*

They really overid the supply system irl The Germans easily blitzed through the Soviets at lighting speed but no in hoi4 you go 2 tiles in and your tanks get stuck

Honestly this update gave transport planes more of a purpose.
They've been nerfed a lot since this video was recorded, but I think they should still have a useful role
Ive got lots of issues my last games as germany getting through benelux, and my newest game i used more aircrafts. So i capitulate Allies in mid 1940. So I learned that the Airforce is more important than good tanks.
That was the best yet :)

The more i see of this DLC the more it seems to dawn that paradox have really cucked up the balancing to the moon and back faster than Rommel's divisions encircled the french armies. It's becoming very apparent that *yet again* they have barely playtested
Has anyone else noticed this: I haven't bought the new dlc yet, but seem to have most of the new features anyway. Trains, railways, supply overhaul, army high command, Soviet and Polish focus trees at least.

How do you submit disaster saves? I reached a point with a game the other day and thought nah. But could always send it Rambler’s way.
I think there's usually an email in the description but if it's not there I would guess it's not open right now
Quick question - how do you set all your depots to a certain type of supply? I.e. change all of them from horsewagon to double motorised.
I haven't found a way or heard anyone mention it. To the best of my knowledge all you can do is try to keep up with the ones at the front individually

A alex I thought I may have a disaster game because Italy started a war with the allies in 1938 for 1 week itliy hold and they were advancing in Africa which was suprising but I wasn't when I joined it took us 2 and a half years just to invade France and yougolsiva and Greece. Greece was dead fast when yougolsiva went. Then I see the Russia making war justification on me. And scine most of my tanks still needed training and my supplys was really bad it got to 46 percent and it stayed like that for a bit. Thank god I was able to buld level 2 forts all over the russian border so now it 1942 about to got to 1943 so I have not even advanced in russia and then I got distracted because Belgium and the Netherlands joined the allies took me like 2 or less month's to beat them I had all my tanks there and there were many breaches in my line in russia bearly holding but when I finally defect them I trapped like 28 allied division and resorted the border with Russia almost encircled 20 so divisions because Latvia I forgot what nation it was it just got annexed by russia with out me knowing and I was nearly able to have my tanks push them back a bit with no supply. But now everything is ok got my supplys back to 96 percent getting ready to advance when my tanks get to regular. Oh and iam losing the air war with russia:( and the allies and we lost africa after I joined 1 year later. Italy navy gone my was almost wiped out because we tried to destroyed all the troops leaving Yugoslavia. Anyways I think I got this. Going to invade russia with no air power but so wish my luck

Supply depots having the highest constructions cost of anything in the game is ridiculous, like I had singular tile on my coast (in korea as japan) that was out of supply and it was much much easier to build a port then a supply depot to keep the division there in supply. They need to make supply depots much cheaper. I don't have the dlc just the free update so maybe there's something in the dlc that makes it not bullshit. Also I wish paradox would care about and update the older dlc so that the focus trees are on the same level as the newer dlc focus trees. Australia and the other commonwealth countries' focus trees suck
Edit: I do really like that taking cities and stuff really really relives supply issues, the new logistics system is a massive step up, the old system really frustrated me
There should be a decision that gives you a massive supply depot build speed increase
@@Popchip99 there is but only for a short time, once, for a max of 3 supply points. I'm saving that for a critical situation
If they were much cheaper you could just put them in every tile with little cost, I put 50 heavy tanks on the border of Manchukuo and had no supply issues just because I built a supply hub on every tile on the border.
@@eoozy2617 you would need loads of trains and trucks and high level railways to keep all the supply depots supplied if you spamed them everywhere, at least that's how it should work and would work in real life. Having supply depots be by far the most expensive thing to build makes no sense
@@jamietus1012 Bro all you need is 4 or 5 mils on trucks to have infinite amount of them, this game aint about realism. You'll never run out of trucks unless you put them in every division aswell.
