I met John about 20 years ago and see him at all the swap meets. Always a friendly guy and full of great stories. He was trying to get my wife to take a kitten home with her when we visited.
That was a awesome video .. Thank you for taking us all along for the ride, that man has a memory like a walking library ... and a really wonderful collection. Greetings from York, England.
what an amazing place and what an amazing fella. You could spend weeks looking through his stuff. i remember seeing him on the American Pickers show years ago, but you showed more of his place with out the any of the wheeling.
*He needs to start a museum and be the curator. It would give him something to do, this would all be preserved, people to talk to, and at the same time preserving and documenting history. Any (extra) money generated could be used to source parts to complete the bikes...*
Morris Minor would have come from Canada . Being a Low Light model with the head lights being in the front grille panel the US laws at the time meant the headlights were too low and had to be placed on top of the guards .
Thanks for sharing, there’s some really useable body shells that could be turned into Hotrods and the motorcycle collection sold at auction would (with the right auctioneers ) fetch some serious money. He could keep a couple to tinker with & be a very wealthy man. Regards from the U.K.
Man got plenty things to tinker with all day. He got plenty cool stuff. Like the old bikes. Man he got some old Bikes. Thanks for your time Man. Great footage. Nice to see the guys history documented. It will all disappear one day. Now it's for life. Looking forward to more. Have a good day man. Looking from Sweden.
@@heartoftexasbarnfindsandcl5193 ye man. You have to be careful you don't end up with a yard like that guys. Lol. You got to buy um to use. Find them cheap. Invest in the future. Good luck man. Weather looks good there.
That’s called a Chevy 2 boat motor, which oh yes 400 hp, my club has the Chevy 2 in the ol midgets I’m part of the WRA ( western racing association, the rolling sprints and midgets museum) nice thanks BigAl California.
Could be a whole episode of "American Pickers"...just let Mike in that motorcycle building and the old man would be rich! Mike would wet his pants on most stuff in there, and pops would change his tune.."not 4 sale" Would change to "what'll you give me 4 it?"
They have been there about eleven year's ago and Mike bought an old indian camel back from him.can't remember how much exactly he payed for it but it wasn't cheap and he told them that the room of parts was not for sale.
Seen alot like this one day it all ends up scrap because someone doesnt wanna sell. Or thinks they got some gold. When someones standing with cash grab the cash...
Yea they hold on to it for years and then they get old and die off and then then some scrap .co comes in and gets it for nothing after they are dead and gone
I just don't understand... call me stupid or naive... but most those bodys are just shells an will never see a hand grace them with some mud and single stage. I could back in the day a fixed most any of them as I started back in and about nineteen fifty six, seven or eight latest as to making a whole driving rig. There was a time that if I saw a forty ford any style then it came home with me and most knew that I was the guy to fix them to running and driving rigs and in a short time of taking to selling for some real money. Most rigs then never cost over fifty if it was special and the other stuff might of been gifted if I bought enough of the others they would set a body shell on the back of my car trailer.... one the old three car trailers on a fifth wheel. so it would wind up with a little space on the unit depending on how we loaded the other as it was real light weight. I know that old cars sell real well but anything north of say twenty thousand was a good fifty say ten years ago when there was tons of them going through one of the two or three big car auction outfits. I got where I just wouldn't go to them as they just were so high for a fender and frame job.. most were glitter and not too well built
You sound like a cool cat.. . Sounds Like you Know how to find them. Do you still own them? How many , I love talking to people about their collections. Lots of memories. Most of The Cars in the video are in Rat Rod Builder condition. to Far Gone Really for most . Glad you Enjoyed.
@@heartoftexasbarnfindsandcl5193 I caught a man who fell from his roof and it tore me up from the floor up. I had to get rid of everything I had to pay for operations and other things that go hand in hand with overpaid doctors not able to make it unless we pay for that diploma on his wall. I sold the last ones and gave one to my grandson as it might get to stick for awhile. Yep just only three and a bit years ago so I can move on crutches... I was in a coma for a few days when I made that mistake but then he would of died had I not did what I did. So thank tho for that complement!!
Tell him to bring some of the coops and sedans out here to my yard in California desert 🏜 boron , and I’ll sell all of them for him , oh yes , I’m BigAl California and my future name it BigAls Kustoms, hot rods and trucks, oh yes , praise Jesus Grace Christ amen, jalopy, are getting big again, thanks BigAl California.
