I made this one today to in addition to the cauli mac and cheese. This was an epic feast!! Even my carb loving son, was floored at how good it all was!! A tablespoon or two is not going to affect your carbs that much- especially if you are cooking for multiple servings. But If you are on a strict keto diet, and you want to consume as little carbs as possible, then it is for the best that you stay away from arrowroot and arrowroot powder, she does say optional, so in that use more xanthan gum, glucomannan powder, guar gum or psyllium husk for thickness, Mayra, thank you for doing such a wonderful job on these recipes, your hard work is amazing, keep them coming our way, thanks🥰
The way i thought it was said something like the arrow root was used to tenderize the meat. I’ve once saw a friends Chinese mom use baking soda to do that. I’ve successfully stir fried with flank or hanger steak which wouldn’t need anything like that.

Thin meat slice pro tip: partially freeze (or partially thaw) the meat so it’s more solid, but not completely frozen. Super easy to slice really thin that way. Might even be able to use a mandolin slicer to get even slices.
Genius! I didn’t realize you can thicken sauces with Xanthan Gum! I’d been craving stir fry, so I made this recipe with thin-sliced steak and, along with the broccoli, I added some pea pods, mushrooms and a few sliced carrots. The sauce thickened perfectly! It was really good, except it was a bit too sweet … I hadn’t even used the full 3 Tbsp. of sweetener. I’ll definitely be making this again soon, just with maybe a teaspoon or two of sweetener. 😋

I’ll try your recipe and use siracha. I haven’t made this dish a lot but when I do I like to use toasted sesame oil toward the end. I love that flavor. Amazingly simple. From beginning to end 30 minutes, now I have lunch meals for the week. Last night I made the sides, Bok Choy with small pork chunks in it 🥬 and also made garlic butter baby portobello mushrooms🍄. Everyone at work is going to be so jealous. 😊😊😊

I wanted to try something diff for a thickener instead of the Xan gum. I bought clear gel. Put some in water , heated it to make a gel thickener. I keep it on hand to add to recipes in place of other recipes calling for corn starch. Most sauces need a thickener. I use it to make a gravy with heavy whipping cream, sausage drippings or bacon drippings, chicken broth. Any gravy. I can’t remember if corn starch is keto. Brain fog , lol. I’m definitely going to make this. I’ll try it with chicken too. You inspired me to think.

Hi just wanted to point out that you can't have corn starch, molasses or arrowroot on keto because both will spike your insulin regardless if its low carb or not. You can call it low carb, but keto is all about watching your insulin levels and maintaining ketosis for long periods. If you go in and out of it all the time, it is no longer keto which is where the misconception comes from because dirty keto really isn't keto. I think that is where the bad reputation comes from. People who do it for a short period and putting junk in their body that they're told is keto, which isn't. Its just low carb and you don't maintain fat adaptation doing that when you first start. To replace it you can use xanthum gun to replace it. As for tenderizing the meat, you use baking soda to soften it. As for the sauce it actually uses oyster sauce but since we can't use oyster sauce you can add oyster juice to your sauce ? I haven't made it yet but just wanted to point some things out. :)
Like the pasta receipe and she says its keto and only 2 carbs what kind of keto reciepes are these i dont know she only mentions low carb if its like keto is all about low carb . Thats why people say that keto is a very bad diet and they get kidney stones etc. Her reciepes are good but not good for the healthy keto genic diet .
It's pretty good with ground beef if it's getting hard to find food in your area. I didn't have molasses so I used sugar free syrup. OMG I felt like I got takeout it was so good.

Can you skip the sweetener? And/or, better question, can you explain your understanding and use of these sweeteners? I’ve read (Taubes & Fung) speak to the fact that though these alternative sweeteners are low carb, they still raise insulin, sometimes even more than regular sugar. Has made me very wary of any sweeteners at all, beyond light use of the more natural options of local honey and maple syrup. Love your videos, thank you for your hard work.
You should be good just stay away from Splenda and equal and stuff like that. Stevia, monkfruit,Erythritol will not spike your insulin. I was prediabetic which is why I went low carb. I’m finally after years back to normal now.
