Thanks for the video. Feeding from the magazines has always been an issue with Ruger American rifles. Every one of them I’ve seen, in any caliber. Ruger doesn’t seem to care. Other than that, they are excellent rifles for the money and more accurate than one would expect for the money.
I've been using a 6.5 grendel for a while. It's probably not a rifle problem. Push the rounds out of the mag with your finger and I bet you will notice the bullets hanging up on the front edge of the magazine in front of the follower. Take a Dremel, or file and relieve that area about an eighth of an inch. I had the same problem, and this fixed it.
@@codywhitmire8850 removing the springs did help some but taking a file and beveling down the angle of the raised plastic piece on the bottom plate helped a lot as well.
I bought a Ruger American Gen 2 in 243 right before deer season, I was having feeding issues also. So when I got back home, I discovered that the problem was the bolt was sliding across and making contact with the top part of magazine and that was what was causing it to bind up. This was extremely frustrating being this was a brand new gun, it seems like this problem slipped through the QC…. Not good. That being said, I absolutely love the gun.
Great vid guys.. Thanks for the time.. Bought my wife the X39 gen 2 and she loves it!! next year its the grendal!

You should be able to fix the mag feeding issue by removing one or two coils from the spring. This is a known issue even with the Gen1.
That is a great idea!!! Thank you so much for that!
@@ChosenOutdoors Did this fix the issue?

You said you love a big knob😂 great video
Take your magazine apart and turn the spring 180 degrees. Sometimes those mags nose dive on last round that should fix it
830 area code? Your in the hill country? Me too
We've have a few come thru our shop, I snagged the 6mm ARC for myself.
I want the 22 ARC
what twist is the riffling of the barrel
1:8 RH.
I’ve not had good luck with those ASC mags either
Are you shooting at Reeves? I have a Gen 2 in 6.5 Grendel and love it
Yes sir!!! Sure are.. I’m glad you love it; it is a nice firearm
Thats feeding issue is definitely a Ruger problem. Duramags are the gold standard for Grendel, nothing comes close.
Appreciate the tip!
Stretch your spring in the mag
I have had 3 grendels, a bolt action and 2 AR's. I could never get good accuracy with factory ammo or hand loads.
What loads were you shooting?
Got 1.. almost no kick
Yes sir. The felt recoil is minimal! It is a very handy round
I think 6.5 can be used for big-game hunting. Maybe not grindel, but 6.5 Creedmoor could do the jop for a deer
100% it can. I shot an elk with a 6.5 creedmor but it has to be a great and well placed shot! Aim small always!
6.5 Grendel works on deer (two last year)
Should fix the title. It says ranch and you show the predator and standard
Yes sir. Sorry about that. We have a ranch as well that is a gen 1. Got the titles messed up. It is fixed now. Thank you
The ruger 450bushmaster had the same loading issues
