Complaining about GarandThumb's style of presentation is like complaing about Top Gear/Grand Tour not having enough technical presentation on cars.
Each channel has its style and subjective entertainment value. I greatly appreciate Paul Harrel's work, C_Does, and equally Garand Thumb's and T-Rex's styling. Somewhere in between are channels like Phillip Velayo and American Outlaw. I enjoy them all for what and how they present their information.

I love my Gen II in .300blk. It is a great general purpose rifle. I ended up putting a PA SLx 1-6 7.62x39/.300blk Raptor reticle on it, and have been able to get consistent hits out to 300-400 yards (wind notwithstanding).
Something I also really want to touch on, though, is how valuable a "legal" rifle is. I live in Vermont, but my entire family is from the Finger Lakes area of New York. For those times when I go home to hunt, help around house, etc., I'll usually toss this rifle in my truck. It's great having a short, handy, rifle that accepts stanag mags, and won't get me slapped with a felony.

My Gen 1 and similar .22 constantly have the bolts opening in the field and seeding freedom throughout the countryside especially if you carry over the left shoulder--which is an unpleasant surprise when you quickly shoulder to take game. The 3-point safety is a welcome change.

I’ve got one…it’s accurate. I don’t like the stock. It’s functional but my Gen2 and Gen1 both have the stock nearly touch the barrel on the right side. It’s almost like Ruger has a crap molding process. I’ll probably get a lightweight chassis for them and go with the Sig folding Stock. The spiral fluting has no place on a “ranch” rifle imo. To me a ranch rifle is a gun that can live in a quad, in the back of a pickup, or even in a wheelbarrow on a farm. The fluting is an extra place for dust, dirt and mud to get in. Now you have to get in every groove individually.

Wow. This was an absurd post. You do know the barrel is finished in Cerakote? Do you know what Cerakote does?
Fluting can be put on any length barrel. Fluting increases the surface area of the barrel so that more heat dissipates at a more rapid rate. Spiral Fluting further increases this benefit due to the fact that the shortest distance between two points is not a spiral. Spiral fluting creates more surface area compared to straight line fluting. Thus, spiral fluting maximizes barrel cooling.
      I rest my case.

Just a thought in my head, but I would love to see the interaction if you were to go to a Cabela's and the guy behind the gun counter is like some 20-year-old fresh out of high school and he's seen a gun once at his pappy's above the fireplace mantel.
And he's there to tell you all about how to shoot and how great this rifle is or this rifle isn't. You know all the good information that you should know because obviously he's the salesman.
Just thinking that would be a funny interaction to witness.
