- So I have been looking for a Jeep ZJ out in Florida and have had no luck! Everything out here is clapped out and people are asking $3K+! Luckily this WJ popped up and the owner said it had a skim issue. From all the forums i have read most people change out the PCM with the Skim Removed. We will be testing the skim module along with the PCM to verify what is bad on the Jeep so that we can have the Jeep run for more than 3 Seconds😂

Nice brooooo love ya vids I watched most of them I have a 2000 wj 4.0L bought it for $1000 running all I needed to do is replace oil pressure switch and new tires. no engine light and starts like a dream with original engine and transmission only one owner before me plan on upgrading my interior lights and much more thanks to your videos

My guess is the wiring harness is shorted on the back of the head or block. Plus the door wiring could be shorted on the drivers side. I have seen both.
I thought that to but all wiring checked out!
I had to solder all the wires on my WJ Limited dirvers door when I got it, it was a PITA.
Nice WJ. I picked up a 99 4.7 with QT2 about 6 months ago. Love it . Did a 4’’ lift, 32’’ tires, roof rack. Just installed some lights. Just have to finish the wiring and install the controller. I’ve been watching your channel since I picked it up. Keep up the great work. Very interested in how your project develops.

My mom bought a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 1 owner & clean title with 180K. It runs & drives & has A/C for only $2K in Miami,Florida. It’s actually the same color exterior & interior with the sunroof but it isn’t 4X4.

You can probably get the towing package free from the dealer... there is a recall on those as you know... looks good.. Same interior as my WJ. Your first Floridian WJ!!!!
Genius! I was actually thinking of hitting a junkyard for one! This sounds like a better idea and I don’t have to do the work haha
I've tried this, it doesn't work :( The dealer recall is only to replace the factory hitch. If your jeep was made without one, they won't add it for free unfortunately.

@@NajarOffroad Yupp I replaced everything far as brake line to sensors somebody told me to change the ecu but ima see what you come up with because it will start but as soon as it warms up or in 30mins it cuts off I’m so mad because I’m like 3500 dollars in an I’m still having problems 🤦🏾♂️
@@NajarOffroad it has no engine lights on new tire brake line rotors brakes all new sensors new intake new tranny an all so this problem is really a nail bitter lol don’t no what to do
Try a crankshaft pos sensor or camshaft pos sensor
If not then sometimes the connections on the ecm/tcm need to be cleaned.

just bought my first one. it's a 2000 wj. know nothing , but one of my keys causes the same engine die at three seconds, the other key works perfect,,,wonder if you had two keys made with factory code, wonder if that might be cheap solution...looking forward to your vids to make mine good as new
The video with the drive shaft replacement what was the rattling did you ever figure it out bc I just replaced my drive shaft now I have a lil rattle hitting bumps if use could give me ideas of what it could be please

Yea there is a hole in the metal that goes across above the WJ you can stick a screwdriver to adjust the angle
What are the issues you get with the PCM? What the heck IS the pcm? FYI I am currently pulling my 4.7 for a complete rebuild. Want to know what to look out for.

Mine has used zero oil in 30k. Same engine just an 04. It's also quiet and still gets factory mpg. almost 260k. I have a little more rust.
The key isn't programmed to that truck I have a exact key without a chip that starts but doesn't shift order and reprogram the key with chips

I’m having a similar issue, but I don’t have the key light on, and my gauges move. Been working on it for days and it’s driving me nuts, hopefully my issues the same cause I’m out of leads to follow
SKIM module issue its 99% of the time an ECU Issue, and you can get it fixed in Tijuana for less than 100 usd, with warranty... no need to reprogram...
Fix the driver door wiring harness issue before fixing the ECU, 99% of the time the ECU get damaged due to Wiring harness issues.
Checked it the wiring is solid on all doors!
@@NajarOffroad Nope... double check, driver door side, they brake from the inside and cant be just visual inspected... you need a tester... and i am 99% sure yours its damaged because the first symptom its the driver side rear door, window not working...
NO, NO, NO, NO, NO... the only way to identify if its a SKIM or ECU issue its, when you try to turn on, if the engine turns on for 3 sec and then it shuts off... it is a SKIM issue, if it doesent eaven turn on for 2 or 3 sec.. its an ECU issue and you dont need a scanner to diagnose that..... tantos años y no le sabes aun.. mie stimado..
Would a skim issue cause the gauges to not move at all? My battery gauge didn’t even go up to 12V and I tested the battery it’s good
@@NajarOffroad No never, if gages are not moving at all.. and a mean at all (with ECU damaged they work as soon you open the switch, but goes all the way down and stay there)... then can be a cluster, wiring and or confort module issue.
