My poor old Dad used to play his on his button accordion to my Mam 60yrs ago or more , He would look at her and smile back to him. Beautiful version of a Beautiful song. sung by a Beautiful singer. XXXXX
My mum played this melody on the piano ... She said, can't understand why you love this so much. I just said it's so honest ... the sunshine of your smile ...Made me sit up & feel so good to be alive ... that Mum smiled and loved me so much. To all of you out there ... value the sunshine of the smile of your dear ones ...It's really all that counts in life
It's been a long time since I last heard this song. I had forgotten just how beautiful this song was.

Beautiful! A taste of music from 1913. Have we learned a single thing?
To me, one of the best singers this country has produced. How can such a vocal smoothness go from The Sunshine of your Smile, to Everyone's A Wally? :) Love It all! :)
you cannot be serious, he is not even pub singer level
I can remember my late Father singing this while he working in the house backyard when I was a nipper in the early 80’s.... Golden days... Evokes fondest memories of me Dad & those days... Happier times...
From 'Tribute to Buddy Holly' to 'Sunshine of your smile'............A wonderful talent!

ARE YOU BEING SERVED - RADIO SUTCH 1964 - Great rendition by Mike
I've only just found out John McCormack sang this in 1916, thanks to the pub patrons singing it in Peaky Blinders. Beautiful song.
Nice-looking guy - with a sweet voice too. Certainly takes me back!
Thank you for posting this - it is our song I never thought we would ever see this again!
My Uncle Barry's favourite song, in its 1916 version , died WW2, this version brought years to my dad e dry Tim he heard it

So honest, a nice man
So beautiful ❤️
my late nanna told me my grandad use to sing this record to her when they were courting in the 1920s.
I luv this song, it makes me happy.
Crikey, I remember seeing this on TOTP! Great song and English singer. 1980 number 9 in the charts.
This was such an underrated BEAUTIFUL! song, this came out around the same time as Brian & Michael "Matchstalk Men" another BEAUTIFUL! song and I always put these 2 together as having a real kinda melancholy & old time sound somehow 🤔
A great song would bring tears to a stone.
Best version thanx for posting...pure magic
RIP Mike

Beautiful song and an excellent performance.

I was impressed with her part in "Johnny remember me", I had a good night. My sister and I were the youngest there I think! Some belting songs
Oh how I miss Joe meek 304 since he shut down his site; all that effort he put into what was clearly a mission to share with the world the man who was Joe meek and keep a light shining for those artist who would have since slipped away in to obscurity... lets hope somone takes up the flame and runs with once more...
Long Live Joe Meek. BTW: I thought Mike was great in Worzel Gummidge
Hi Mike!! Love you so much. You have such a bonnie voice! Come to Scotalnd. We LOVE you.
Wow!
Terrific song and singing. Thanks for sharing, Barbara.
To put the record straight on the 8th of october Mike Berry was appearing live with the Outlaws on a Joe Meek Festival he is still going strong and i can assure you he was not miming he is still a fantastic etertainer Gog Hill
Beautiful song good memories for me
Such a lovely song from a better time.
my grandad loves this song
Just watched the performance on TOTP from 1980. It's the first time in all those years that I've listened again to this wonderful song written originally a century ago (quite unbelievable!). The arrangement is key to it's modern success but much is also owed to Mike's voice. Shame, though, that during that performance he chose to mess around a little - probably still in his 'Are You Being Served?' mode.
I agree.......excellent rendition of a timeless classic. Mike could possibly have made an effort to present this song without the "messing about" bits, but his voice somehow makes up for it...........
I played this on euphonium in a local brass band comp,it was one of my grandmothers favourites.
not an original, first sang by irish man and world renowned John mc cormack in 1916,may he rest in peace.
Written by a late friend of mines grandfather
Of course you are correct about its origin, but that is not what the title said! This is the original of Mike Berry's version! Trying to look clever only works when you understand English!
@@rmaidwell Leonard Cooke wrote the lyrics and Lillian Ray the music.(1913)
Classic song classy singer nothing else needed
He was my next door neighbour in the 70’s . Some really horrid sounds came from that house
I always loved this but I had NO recollection of it being Mike Berry! My thanks to Peaky Blinders for reminding me and forcing me to track this down.
the song' at least 60 years older than when this was recorded.
Totp 6th sept 1980! Ah the memories! My 14th birthday. Wish i cud go back, and listen to this delightful tune again. Instead i will dedicate it to my 2 daughters.
brilliant❤
doesent matter if its not the original, I think its a nicer version ..
Wish things could go back no spots
Reminds me of me ma. Love it xxx
This is a beautiful song. John McCormack, the Irish Tenor, made a beautiful rendition of it. I haven't been able to find it. Nice rendition here.
If jeff lynne covered this it must be great welcome to the new world
Magic!
you done a god job Mike.... and of course a nod to the Rockneys. Best version
A great singer
Not as good as the original by John McCormack, but a lovely version nonetheless. The main thing is that it brought this wonderful song to a new audience.
The original version was actually recorded by Olga, Elga and Eli Hudson in 1914. There were another six recordings before John McCormack. 😊
Super!!
Wow..2022.. I am searching the WINTER WONDERLAND by Mike Berry.. I can't find it 😔
He reminds me of Joe Brown
Love you
My great grans favourite song
it was first wrote in 1913 a good version here though.

It's the Great Work!
Makes me think of bomsi Cake, I'm her dad x
❤️❤️❤️❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍
This is hardy the original version of this great song. This was recorded round about 1982, and the song must be 100 years old.
1980
I did too! In Manchester, Where did you see it?
Did he used to be in Are You Being Served?
It's obviously the same recording as the single. He could have sang it live in that TV studio, but the video up here is the recording studio version
This is very obviously sung live if you've ever heard the studio version by mike berry this version is COMPLETELY different !. Granted the sync is out a mile or it may have even been pre-recorded but "live" all the same.
