    As a nine year old kid in 72 told my parent's I had to have a krate bike. I got this kit, it was assembled with tears

      Wes, What sad story. Well, now you can build one with pride because a Krate in original condition now will be even more expensive than it was in '72! -Doug

      @@RightOnReplicas it wasn't the money, I couldn't sit on it and reach the ground. Which was ok, in 74 I got a brand new YZ80, I was throwing rocks at the bike crowd.

    Haven't built a model kit in decades. My wife bought me this for Christmas and little by little, It's coming together. Connecting the forks is an absolute pain. I'm going for the high sissy bar option as it was popular when I was riding such bikes. I'm at the 8:30 point right now.

    Coolest bicycle ever built. I had an Apple Crate. Learned how to wheelie on it in the early 70's. Mine was one of the later without the castration shifter.

      I had the Grey Ghost Richard ! ...... but I'd take my next bike my Orange 10spd Raleigh Chopper ! Nobody else had a 10spd stingray style bike back then.... my friends though I brought home a space ship when they took a look at that sweet ride 😉 ! Overall the Krate bikes had a little better look but that 10spd trumps everything..... needless to say I loved them both and then my following blue Schwinn Varsity 10spd road bike ! Even for a big road bike I could do great wheelies and ride no handed for miles... even around corners 😉
      Great memories.... awesome bikes ✌😎 Keep healthy & stay safe everyone !

    What brand paint glue and paint did you use? I read it needs only a certain kind of glue and paint, but can’t find what brand to buy.

    • @Ktubey
      @Ktubey 3 роки тому

      I just heard super glue, what brand of paint? Thanks in advance! Nice video btw. I will watch this as I’m working on it!

    • @RightOnReplicas
      @RightOnReplicas  3 роки тому

      Kelly, For this model I recommend Testor's orange tube glue for parts that need to be adjusted for position while the glue sets. Parts that are a precise fit can use Superglue. You can use Testors or Model Master spray paint for any plastic model. PS, please help us reach more modelers by subscribing if you haven't done so already. -Doug
