    Hello, my husband just showed me your video. He had a stroke on Jan 12th and since then has built 2 gundams and now is working on his 3rd which is a perfect grade. He is not able to communicate very well yet but I think building gundams and watching your videos brings peace to him. Keep up the good work!!

      I've only recently started noticing this hobby and the total devotion to craftmanship involved. Also, miniature painting for games like Warhammer. It would be neat if cities (I'm in New York) could find ways to channel their talents to beautifying the city. Designing public art, etc. Aesthetics has been a dead thing since the 1950s. Imagine if their talents were made to improve the feel of an actual city.

    this is giving me some serious flashbacks from my days of painting and converting warhammer figures. Seeing your snow base brings back so many memories. Baking soda and white glue with some white paint is the best fake snow, I used that mix to do the bases of at least two armies.

    as someone who is just now starting to take model kit building somewhat seriously, I've only ever built them and left the nub marks and didn't do anything past that, now I'm caring more, sanding/filing surfaces, trying to panel line everything, this is just a huge inspiration to me. it really gives me something I'd love to achieve someday. not sure when, or even how, but you've given me a goal. and for that I thank you

    Buddy you are a master class in art. Would you ever make a custom model for someone? I am a truck driver in America, and I have a beautiful semi called a freightliner cascadia, it's a 2018. Ever since I got this truck, I felt like the lines of its body and massive size make me feel like I'm piloting a gundam. So naturally I thought how cool would it be to have a gundam as my hood ornament? I want to do an aggressive red version of wing zero, not the waltz version though I think that's been over done. But zero during the wing saga. That would be pretty badass but the trick would be to make the model rigid, so once posed it would not move, even under hours of heavy friction and vibration, and it would need to be strongly built in case a pebble or something flies up and hits it. Do you think something like that could be done?

    • @justplainpsychotic
      @justplainpsychotic 4 роки тому +12

      You would want something like that cast in some form of metal, sorry, a plastic gundam model is a bit too fragile for a vehicle that is that large and travels that much. Super glue or not, it's still plastic. You would be sacrificing a lot of fine detail from these types of models to cast it in metal but but it would stand up to the constant wind, rain, snow, engine power, and an asshat named Bob who thinks it's okay to merge across lanes in his little Hyundai with no blinker and then hit the brakes.
      Good luck to you, though, the idea sounds awesome. Zero gundam... Winged Freighter C-Model.

    • @Sableow
      @Sableow 4 роки тому +6

      One would need to cast it into metal. Plastic simply wont do under weather and travel, hence why hood ornament's are normally made out of metal.
      Unlike what JustPlainPsychotic said, you would indeed be able to keep any and all detail in cast/metal form, simply need to put work into it. I'd love to make one for you, but I don't have any equipment for such a project after moving to another country.
      But, I do hope Ray sees your comment, as if not a hood ornament, why not something for the mirror? ;D

    • @lejames2264
      @lejames2264 4 роки тому +4

      I have never drove a heavy truck, so I don't know how strong the vibration would be. But I do have an SUV that I drive in many places. I also have the similar idea as you do, and I ended up with an SD gundam.
      MG or even HG/RG would not be tough enough to survive. But an SD might. They are smaller, stronger, and less parts to fall off. I got a black SUV, so I pianted my SD Sazabi with glass red, growing gold, and metal black. I used some luminous paint so some part of it(like eyes, and the golden parts) would glow in the dark, especially when you meet a car in the night. It looks pretty good.
      Just an idea. Good luck and hope you find that Zero gundam!
