      The amount of blooming from the bleeding light that the QNED from LG has is absolutely atrocious. In this case the OLED is far better. But if you want good MiniLED then you should get the Samsung Neo QLED which does mini led far far better than the LG

    I’ve seen the miniLED next to the OLED at Best Buy. Only in the most extreme conditions of black to white edge contrast can you notice the OLED perform better. But you need to have them side by side. If you have the miniLED in your home you would think it’s OLED. It’s that good. Brighter and no burn in. When they make a 55 inch model I’ll be getting the miniLED

      Mini led has truly zero burn in?

    • @brucecarter6205
      @brucecarter6205 2 роки тому +13

      Just the opposite ime. Once you get the MiniLED in your home with many hours of use and various different types of content, then you will start to notice the blooming issues surfacing here and there. Trust me, the FALD algorithm in these sets gets confused often.

    • @micego46
      @micego46 2 роки тому +13

      @@gvd-l3o I mean all LCD tvs have burn in to some extent. But you would reallyyy have to purposely leave and imagine on a screen for weeks/months at a time to even get a little burn in. If you left an image on a OLED screen for one week that would burn it in. Also LCD and OLED are very different technologies as each OLED pixel is a chemical reaction light source. Every time it’s on its life is being diminished. That technically is what the burn in is. The light source dying. As the pixels diminish from use and can’t produce as much light, those pixels seem dimmer and leave behind whatever pattern/shape that was there. Under normal circumstances you would never leave a static image on a screen for a week, but if you watch the news/sports/games where you have something like a network symbol or scoreboard constantly in the same place. You will see burn in after 1-2 years of normal use.

      @@brucecarter6205 I’m sure in some cases you are correct. The demos they show are programmed well to make the backlight array as perfect as can be. I have a Sony x90j series. It looks good, and for the same money compared to just a few years ago it’s damn near perfect without being an OLED. I agree that for the best picture OLED is king, but that comes with a price. I think for the price differential the miniLED is the best when looking at price. Can’t wait to see what tv tech will be in another few years across all the price ranges.

Finally got a 26” color set when I was 6 or 7, but that was state of the art in my world. It really puts into perspective and helps me appreciate the tech we have today - My LG C1 65” would be unimaginable, alien tech when I was a kid. Even movies about the future didn’t usually imagine displays that nice.

    I've had that z9 for six months now. My eyes are customed to it by now.. I've got to say, that movie experience during lockout was close to IMAX-level with 4K streaming. You can sit within 2 metres from the screen and it is perfect. Seeing backlight LCD outside premium premium range now seems odd. They've always been pretty good, but now they seems pale and grayish. Samsung Q9 8K that has been my main refference (I got my z9 at the same price than 85" model) would be great except on one big factor that troubles all backlight tv's: Subtitles. I am customed to use subtitles on all my material, since for me english is a second language. Subtitles ruins dark scenes with back glare. On less-expensive models it might fill the whole middle section on the screen, eben on more expensive models it glares out a lot. Changing subtitle color to yellow and using black bar behind them helps a bit, but does not take the problem away complitely. This is not an issue with Oled. MiniLED from LG is something I've never seen in dark room. My main take is that if your main use of tv is in an environment that is always bright, LCD is propably better. If you want to experience picture as it was ment to be in a place that can be dimmed, OLED is a better option.

    Reminds me of the great Plasma vs LED debate. Plasma was expensive and heavy, but had much better blacks and generally better contrast. LED was less expensive and much lighter, but had grayer blacks, worse contrast, and some models had weird streaking issues that didn't seem to be present on the equivalent plasma models. LED ultimately won out as the tech got better/cheaper, but I loved the picture on my plasma set for movies.

    Your channel goes 99% of the way, and the audio is perfectly fine.. but leaves a bit to be desired if I am being honest .That mic is so harsh and grating on your voice in that environment.. Maybe it was just a hot signal, aggressive compression or w/e.. but the top tech channels should please the audiophiles too. Go 100% of the way. That environment I think needs more proximate rather than ambient mics, like a camera mic, which I assume is being used.Then you wouldn't have to compress and limit so much afterwards, it will sound more like a consistent narration, rather than every single cut creating a jarring, and different sound quality based on dynamic factors. There are so many great wireless LAV mics these days. Would be an easy way to up your production value. the "last two percent" or however the adage goes. I just love when a channel that doesn't need to have perfect audio (very few do), has perfect audio. All just speculative of course, every audio situation is unique.

      @@vacationboyvideos That's because the room is so bright. You don't go to the theater and expect any external light. If you watch movies at night or in a dark room like most people, you'll appreciate the HDR, depth, and contrast OLED has to offer over LED.. and it's a major difference. Looks like they want to compete with Samsung's QLED lineup. OLED has fantastic colors, but unless you're in a near pitch-black room like a specific made home theater, you really don't see the true black benefit. What you will notice is the terrible brightness handicap, however. For most use cases / general living room setups, high end mini LED is the way to go. Have a QN90A, fantastic bold colors, crazy bright, and barely notice blooming unless in a specific scene and you're looking for it.

    I love my OLED but the burn in literally burns my soul when I turn my tv on. I think I will switch to the mini LED. Hopefully they get a higher refresh rate though.

    Oled. I tried a Samsung 65 q90 mini led and it had bad dirty screen effect and ghosting for gaming. Returned it and got the LG C1 65 and love it. Not as bright as the Samsung is my only complaint about it. But is great in every other way!

    I still dont get it why people talk about viewing angles. If u buy a cool tv and spend 2k for it and more ,u do it because the image quality is necessary and u gonna enjoy it from the middle. It okay in a living room when u got company or bigger family probably someone gonna watch it from the side (max90degrees) , but NOONE watches it from 170 degrees its nonsense
