One of those items, like a bulletproof vest where you just have to take the word of the manufacturer. No need to fully test on oneself. Always impressed at how these work and hope to never have to prove it out.
Nicely done guys! Reassuring to know they aren't just for making you look good 🤣 Thanks for making it interesting instead of the same old dry manufacturer's videos. Safety first! Too many people take if for granted that it won't happen to them. I have a pair but I don't know that they make me look as good as they do on Brock! 🤠
Appreciate you guys taking the time to test these. I never knew they were that effective! So that is why I never wear them when I am running the saw. This video has changed my mind I am definitely going to get myself and my dad a pair. Thanks again!
Good morning Brock. Great video. I purchased a pair of Stihl chaps a few years ago when I was cutting in the woods. They were brand new when my father and I took down about a 30 inch diameter tree that about 5 feet from the neighbor ladies house (along with two other maybe 24 inch trees). She wanted various height stumps left 2' to 4' so she could put lawn ornaments on them. Well foolishly I leaned forward to cut a sucker off the stump with my Stihl ms362 about half throttle and it kicked back and nicked my chaps. Stopped the chain immediately. The take away though is I don't remember anything that looked like pillowy cotton; it was all strands (cords). I was glad I had them and they saved me a few stitches. I just didn't remember seeing fluffy stuff come out and get wrapped in the chain.
I've got a 394. Never warn chaps but I just saw a safety video and decided to invest in a set.. that big saw sure was different then the 60 cc tests and one 72 cc one I saw.
its about bar length, if you contact the chaps with the tip of a 28 inch bar you will see a greater chance of cut through than you would if you contact the chaps with the tip of a 16 inch bar, the chain wont bind up till the fibers jam up the clutch, so until those fibers reach the clutch that saw is still pulling teeth across what ever is in its path
I wear Pfanner Gladiator chainsaw pants, they are good for one other thing.... four days ago, I got hit in the leg by a Copperhead snake. No fangs reached my shin. Lets just say, that test can not be duplicated.....with that snake.

It was such a pleasure to work with Brock on this video. He is such a wealth of knowledge.
I really appreciate you having us
50 years later, the giant scar on my left knee still says chaps are important!
Two of my favorite channels, love the collaboration.
Thanks. Your content continues to be diverse. I have the chaps that you demoed. Appreciate the focus on safety.
Thanks
Another great video, and thanks for testing the safety of these chaps with different chainsaws.
Thanks
Absolutely fantastic Brock. I'm a big fan of Tony as well. Love that yall did this together. Also good to know the chaps work lol.

Thanks for sharing
I believe they are strands, just a whole bunch of really tiny ones.

Why most of the UA-cam "experts" doing the show and tell do not use PPE with chaps ? Butt, they are the experts ?
Great video!!

👍👍
Was it a skiptooth blade ?
it was tony's saw andI didn't look too closely. I think it was a standard chain
Gets you a few hog legs and test it on the legs. Pig skin is pretty close to human skin 👍👍 better test 👍👍
Yikes.😳
Hydronic saws it is difficult to stop
