Messed my knee up earlier this year. Unfortunately, I wasn't wearing chaps. Now, I have a seemingly permanent fear of chainsaws. Not like a phobia, but at 8:02 I started feeling like I was looking over a cliff. I still do tree work, but things just aren't right anymore.

Hi Mike. I have watched several of your videos and appreciate many of your ideas and suggestions. As a former chainsaw trainer with a safety association and with over 30 years of experience, I am anxious to pass on information that can save lives and prevent injuries! One thing that I point out to participants is that cutter chaps (and pants) come with or without "calf" protection. I highly recommend those with it. If the saw makes contact with the pants or chaps on the lower part of the leg, they tend to rotate on the leg. If that happens, the saw may cut the unprotected part of the leg. Chaps come with straps (that tend to get tangled in the brush), snaps, velcro or zippers. Although my preference is to use cutter pants (yes they are hot in warm weather!), when I use chaps, I prefer the ones with zippers. Like most things, it pays to spend a few extra dollars to get better quality materials when it comes to preventing injuries. I own a Stihl 360 QS (Quick Stop) that has a beefed up throttle latch on the back handle. I also own an MS 362C with this optional feature. The latch is tied into the brake and it is activated when the latch is released causing the chain to stop quickly. This feature prevents many of the cuts to the chaps or pants when the arms are lowered or steps are taken after finishing a cut. I believe this to be the second best invention after the brake itself! This video shows the feature on the MS241 ua-cam.com/video/usD4zYFCHzg/v-deo.html. I was very disappointed to find out that this option is no longer available on the MS 362 in Canada (not sure about the USA). Apparently they weren't selling enough of them but I found that it was a best kept secret as very few people knew that the option existed! WOW! That was certainly an eye opener for me. I've never considered wearing chaps and I've been running chain saws for 35+ years off and on. Going to my Stihl dealer this week to pick up a pair before I go cut some more wood this weekend. Thank you for posting this.
I have a pair of chaps on a shelf in my garage that’s been there for 25 years. When I bought my first chainsaw, the Husqvarna dealer threw them in with the saw. Nice guy. Never been worn because in Florida it’s WAY to hot and muggy. You sweat like there’s no tomorrow. Now that I’m older, (and have seen this) I might have to rethink that.
Very timely upload. I to have never wore chaps. 2 weeks ago I was trimming a tree and cutting a branch leg high and touched my leg with the running chain. Tore a good chunk of skin, but I didnt need stiches. Ruined a great day in the woods. I am considering geting some chaps. Great test.

Last year I hit me knee with the chainsaw for the first time. I wear full chainsaw pants. 18 years with never so much as a nick until than! Well worth it.
@Calvin G my neighbour was in shorts which in reality is just the same as jeans when he hit his knee! It went through the skin and muscle like butter. ate partway through his kneecap and cut the patellar tendon in half. It was a bloody mess.
Any one considering getting chaps should get the ones with the 3 straps per leg. You will be more likely to use them as they are not as hot as the pant type you step in and you can quickly take them off when you switch to loading your rounds. Make sure you use each strap and not too loose. Play hard stay safe.
Thanks for the test Mike. Never used chaps for a long time neither cause I don't saw much, yet even for the occasional Saw-er it'll only take once.😔... But I've got a Birthday coming up and a set of chaps just went on my list for my wife to look over. 😊

However, after unfortunately witnessing an accident, now I've started wearing them all the time for the reason you stated. No one plans on an accident. It just happens, and when it does, it's almost instantly. Better an ounce of prevention. Good video.
Used chainsaws at various times for decades, I bought chaps with the new saw a couple of years ago, already have half a knee gone from motorcycle accident years ago, dont want another knee injury. I even use them brush cutting, stops those stones and sticks that invariably hurt the legs even with jeans on. Didn't know about the washing hing, will do. Thanks for your videos.
Well..... I had 1 on Friday morning. Been cutting trees and firewood my entire adult life and NEVER had an accident. I found a hickory that broke off in a storm, about 10' up and was still attached at the trunk and laying on the branches. I cleared the area of underbrush and smaller trees to be safe and then started attacking the upper limbs. My plan was to remove most of the top of the tree and then come back later with my tractor and grab ahold of it around the trunk with my brush bucket. I was just about done when the next thing I knew I was flying through the air backwards and hit my head against a tree behind me. I had a raging pain in my chest and the tree knocked my safety helmet off my head. It was all I could do to get my composure and breathe. Apparently the tree broke off of the trunk and came crashing to the ground, flipped up in the air and caught me across the chest. I'm now sitting in the hospital with five broken ribs and a bruised lung. As the sparkles were flying around in the air I crawled to my side by side and pulled myself up. I managed to get into the seat and drive back to the house where I called my wife and told her I needed to go to the hospital. The doctor said I was very very lucky and that my ribs (nature's body armor) did their job in protecting my insides. But, if the tree would have caught me in the gut, I may have been laying there with more severe internal injuries. I'm one lucky guy!

This is excellent. Interesting to see this demonstration and glad to see you using a helmet and chaps in your chainsaw videos. I see many people using chainsaws on UA-cam with no safety equipment. Stihl also sells a forestry jacket out of the same material as the chaps to offer upper body protection. I use the chaps, jacket, helmet/face shield/ear protection, safety glasses, steel toe work boots, and leather gloves. I also use a cut resistant protective sleeve on my left wrist that wraps the thumb up to the elbow under the jacket and glove. My Stihl dealer does not stock the jackets so it was a special order. You have to get the size right as they would not return it.
Great demo. I think many injuries occur when people get tired and rest the power head on their left thigh/leg area to take some weight off. The risks in doing that are pretty obvious. Other Injuries in my opinion happen when people get tired cutting tops. I personally don’t play with tops as they take forever and can set you up for an accident easily by twisting and turning. I know leaving the tops is leaving meat on the bone but if it’s too small to put in the splitter I’m not going to spend the time to mess with it. Had a friend who was a professional woodcutter do just that...set the power head on his thigh however chain hadn’t stopped completely and suffered a very serious injury as he wasn’t wearing chaps. Alone in the woods in Maine thankfully he lived to talk about. My two cents is buy chaps and wearing them.
I'm wanting to buy this for my grandpa, I'm a wood worker an I work with fixed saw, which is different from a chainsaw, like the kick back is very different. But this guy knows his stuff.
Impressive demonstration. I have a pair of "work" Levis that have a gash across the front of one leg about mid-thigh from a chain saw mishap. I was lucky and didn't even scratch my leg, but it is a reminder of the necessity of constant attention when using any power equipment.
WOW!!!! I’ve been cutting firewood n using chainsaws for the past 20+ years and not once ever even thought of buying a pair of chaps. It wasn’t until probably the last 6 mos or so that I’ve noticed more and more ppl wearing them and even up until this video, it was just one of those things that you say to yourself...... well yeah I should probably buy a pair “when” I get a chance or “remember”. But Holy S**t Mike, I woulda never had guessed that they were that effective in stopping a saw chain like that and with zero marks on the inside, man, that was crazy! My daughter and I were sitting here watching the vid and at the exact same time said “ WOW” and at the same time you had said “wow”. We got to laughing cause all three of us said it at the same time but anyhow, thanks as always for sharing these videos Mike, made a believer out of me!!!! Scott
Hi Mike, Just a simple question: Do the whole of the leg have those fibers or just the black section over the knee? Looks like it should be the whole leg in case the saw hits just outside the black section - that would be a bit annoying...

I'm an arborist chaps have saved me a few times. I have a 5" scar just above my kneecap too. Just from bumping against a coasting chain. Brand new saw 455 rancher husky. I gave myself 16 stitches and promised myself I would never let that happen again. It could have been much worse.

Mike I wish I had known you were doing this demo I would have sent you my old chaps. I've been wearing them for years, ever since my neighbors leg and a saw got together. I have nicked them several times, strangely in same area. they need to be replaced and we could have made a switch. Good demo though. By looking at the comments you got your point across.
Well after a year and some months I temporarily killed my 18" Poulan. Somehow I melted the chain brake. Not sure how. With the firewood I sold last week I was able to get an MS 441C. HOLY CRAP!!! Before I walked out of the store I thought to myself "I better pick up a PPE kit. I am glad I did. When I was cutting through some rounds it was trying to kick back. Definitely a brute and not my all day saw. The kit I picked up had chaps but I do not believe the same as you demonstrated. Are the knees just filled with the fibers or is it similar to kevlar sheet? Do you plan on trying out above or below the knee pad as well? Thanks for sharing Mike, truly a great video and learning lesson!!

Many people on You Tube don't use safety chaps . When someone makes a comment like " like hey where are your chaps " people chime in and tell the Safety Sally's to shut up . This is a perfect example why a person should always where their safety equipment . I look at it this way . Don't wear your safety equipment . I'm not the one that's going to the emergency ward or being put in a pine box. I'm a Safety Sally . I always wear my safety equipment . I learned that from working in a steel mill for 40 years . When I use my saw or axe, I use my old hockey shin guards for leg protection. I figure, it could stop a slap shot, it could prevent axe or a saw injuries but I never had an injury to test my theory. I guess it is better than nothing. Great Video

Great video Mike. I work out in the field for the gas company and have had chainsaw safety courses. Our instructor showed us the damage chaps that was put thru a test like you did . He explained what happens, but now i have seen it. Those chaps can definitely save your legs and even a life. Thanks buddy that was an awesome show.
Nice demonstration. I worked as a production Faller on the west coast of British Columbia for about 20 years,and yes leg protection- essential! I noticed in your demonstration the chaps were strapped tight to the log. In reality when the saw makes contact with the chaps they rotate on the leg, and yes you will still get cut but much less severe. This is from personal experience. Thanks though for the video, very informative and practical.
@@OutdoorsWithTheMorgans About 60 percent of coastal forests here are Western Hemlock. We also have an abundance of Western Red Cedar, Amabilis fir, Sitka spruce. All being softwoods. Further south out of our zone there's also Douglas Fir.

Hey Mike, I have been going back and re-watching some of your older videos and this one makes me ask a question of you. Where can you find chaps that fit "short, round" people? All the chaps I look at are for people with legs four inches longer than mine, and the waist belts are about six inches too short! I hate rolling the cuffs up as they tend to collect saw shavings and make for a tripping hazard when they catch on brush and tractor pedals and such. As to the waist belt, I have tried making "extensions" and it works so so. I know I am not the typical skinny logger type, but I also know that I am not the largest tree cutter out their either! I have looked on line and cannot find anything that is a 26" length and 52" waist.
Back years ago when I was little dad has a his tree company he’s been doing it for 25 years ! Very professional! And he was in a tree cut a branch off and it came back and smacked him then his MS 200 spit his hand all the way the middle!!!! 😅😅his hands all good now!!
I've had a pair of those chaps hanging in garage for years. Lucky, I never had a serious chainsaw injury before, other than a small "burn" mark on the back of my leg. My wife watched the video with me, now she will always check me to see if I'm wearing mine from now on.

I don’t usually comment but I have to agree the 036 pro sounds great. We have an 034 that I believe is the same crankcase with a slight difference in bore and I love the way that chainsaw sounds.
Now that’s CHILLING and should get people’s attention. I’m getting up there in years but I still use the chainsaws whenever I am needed after a storm. I’ll be getting myself some of those shortly. Let them laugh but l will be safer! Thanks for sharing.
Great demonstration! I believe the chain may have been improperly seated on the sprocket to begin with though. It looked like some sparks came from the chain while revving the saw.

I think he said his Stihl pants were over$100. I got my Husqvarna pair at Lowes/Home Depot for $50 or 60. Each leg has 3 buckles and 1 for the waist. It's not uncomfortable to wear. And it's not unbearable when its warm out.
took my cs490 into a thick area and three teeth got my knee cap....... it wasn't full speed or anything but it got me good enough and convinced me that I need a pair.
I have ran saws my whole life and never had a pair of chaps. I have never had a near miss either. But I am long overdue for some proper ppe. Great video sir.

Great video mike I hope somebody will see this and get a pair of chaps or start wearing there chaps now. I will not even think of cutting with my saw without using my chaps and all my ppe.
Should have done the test with chaps slightly loose on a leg sized log. See if they would stop it or get spun and throw the saw into leg before it stops. I also think most hand injuries are from people falling on the saw. Lots of people push to hard instead of just letting the saw eat and lose balance at break through.
My fiancee works with chainsaws for a liveing an I'd be lieing if I said that I didn't worry about it. But now I know what I'm buying for him now. Thanks for the demo, this is an amazing product

Don Motz the knee is where my grandson got it with a chainsaw. Luckily, he was just coming off of the cut and the saw was winding down. Still went through those jeans like they weren’t there. I trip to the ER and I don’t remember how many stitches he was back home. He was SO lucky! It chewed up the soft tissue of his knee but didn’t get too far down to where he needed surgery. A painful lesson but he was lucky, lucky, lucky!!
I just bought myself a pair of chaps and head gear! But I must say, that I am curious to see how it would have turned out if you came down on the chaps fast (like a kick back would) instead of going down slow untill you just touch the pants. I’m sure that they would offer great protection, but I feel like you would atleast get a scratch.. 💁🏼♂️ thanks for the video!
LEFT HAND INJURIES, from chainsaw course 1) one should hold the bar and use fingers to apply the chainbrake, however some people use their whole left hand and accidentally slip over it and touch the chain, 2) with single handed saws it is easy to cut in your other hand. So use protective gloves, they also have these fibers and will dampen vibration even more.

Unfortunately I know what a leg looks like after being in contact with a saw when I was a kid. Pretty knarly, and I came out well with only a few stitches. Love your videos, keep it up.
I work at a veterans cemetery as a caretaker and we have to do tree work on occasion. I cringe so hard when the guys I work with don't use chaps because I've seen in my other lines of work how much damage a chainsaw can do to the legs. I've seen people be hospitalized for months because the chain came loose and nicked someone on the kneecap. It's crazy how such a simple garment can be overlooked, even if it means the difference between a slight discomfort or being permanently disabled.
I have a pair of those chaps and I left them out in the garage and a mouse ate a hole through the back about the size of a soft ball. The strands however are still intact. Luckily, the hole is way down by the ankle so I think they are still good. Store those things in a safe place away from rodents. They aren't cheap.
My adult son had a mishap with a chainsaw today, lucky he was wearing chaps. He was surprised A) how easy it was to have accident B) how effective chaps are. I just watched because I was ignorant on what and how they work. I sure am glad he was wearing chaps today.

Should get a cheap piece of beef and hit it with a saw. Will scare you into buying a pair for sure. Muscle, bone..that chainsaw doesn't care.
People don't realize how easy it cuts. There is almost literally no resistance. Think of how hard it is to push a stick into water. Is about the same.

Washing the chaps fluffs up the fibers making them more effective. If your chaps look matted or flat wash them even not dirty. God bless

This is excellent. Interesting to see this demonstration and glad to see you using a helmet and chaps in your chainsaw videos. I see many people using chainsaws on UA-cam with no safety equipment. Stihl also sells a forestry jacket out of the same material as the chaps to offer upper body protection. I use the chaps, jacket, helmet/face shield/ear protection, safety glasses, steel toe work boots, and leather gloves. I also use a cut resistant protective sleeve on my left wrist that wraps the thumb up to the elbow under the jacket and glove. My Stihl dealer does not stock the jackets so it was a special order. You have to get the size right as they would not return it.

Great demo. I think many injuries occur when people get tired and rest the power head on their left thigh/leg area to take some weight off. The risks in doing that are pretty obvious. Other Injuries in my opinion happen when people get tired cutting tops. I personally don’t play with tops as they take forever and can set you up for an accident easily by twisting and turning. I know leaving the tops is leaving meat on the bone but if it’s too small to put in the splitter I’m not going to spend the time to mess with it.
Had a friend who was a professional woodcutter do just that...set the power head on his thigh however chain hadn’t stopped completely and suffered a very serious injury as he wasn’t wearing chaps. Alone in the woods in Maine thankfully he lived to talk about. My two cents is buy chaps and wearing them.
I'm wanting to buy this for my grandpa, I'm a wood worker an I work with fixed saw, which is different from a chainsaw, like the kick back is very different. But this guy knows his stuff.
Idk if I was a new guy I would be taking notes now.
Impressive demonstration. I have a pair of "work" Levis that have a gash across the front of one leg about mid-thigh from a chain saw mishap. I was lucky and didn't even scratch my leg, but it is a reminder of the necessity of constant attention when using any power equipment.

WOW!!!! I’ve been cutting firewood n using chainsaws for the past 20+ years and not once ever even thought of buying a pair of chaps. It wasn’t until probably the last 6 mos or so that I’ve noticed more and more ppl wearing them and even up until this video, it was just one of those things that you say to yourself...... well yeah I should probably buy a pair “when” I get a chance or “remember”. But Holy S**t Mike, I woulda never had guessed that they were that effective in stopping a saw chain like that and with zero marks on the inside, man, that was crazy! My daughter and I were sitting here watching the vid and at the exact same time said “ WOW” and at the same time you had said “wow”. We got to laughing cause all three of us said it at the same time but anyhow, thanks as always for sharing these videos Mike, made a believer out of me!!!!

Hi Mike, Just a simple question: Do the whole of the leg have those fibers or just the black section over the knee? Looks like it should be the whole leg in case the saw hits just outside the black section - that would be a bit annoying...

I'm an arborist chaps have saved me a few times. I have a 5" scar just above my kneecap too. Just from bumping against a coasting chain. Brand new saw 455 rancher husky. I gave myself 16 stitches and promised myself I would never let that happen again. It could have been much worse.

Mike I wish I had known you were doing this demo I would have sent you my old chaps. I've been wearing them for years, ever since my neighbors leg and a saw got together. I have nicked them several times, strangely in same area. they need to be replaced and we could have made a switch. Good demo though. By looking at the comments you got your point across.
It's SOP as a fireman to wear all the protective gear we can when we use a chainsaw. So far no-one has been injured.

Well after a year and some months I temporarily killed my 18" Poulan. Somehow I melted the chain brake. Not sure how. With the firewood I sold last week I was able to get an MS 441C. HOLY CRAP!!! Before I walked out of the store I thought to myself "I better pick up a PPE kit. I am glad I did. When I was cutting through some rounds it was trying to kick back. Definitely a brute and not my all day saw. The kit I picked up had chaps but I do not believe the same as you demonstrated. Are the knees just filled with the fibers or is it similar to kevlar sheet? Do you plan on trying out above or below the knee pad as well? Thanks for sharing Mike, truly a great video and learning lesson!!

Many people on You Tube don't use safety chaps . When someone makes a comment like " like hey where are your chaps " people chime in and tell the Safety Sally's to shut up . This is a perfect example why a person should always where their safety equipment . I look at it this way . Don't wear your safety equipment . I'm not the one that's going to the emergency ward or being put in a pine box. I'm a Safety Sally . I always wear my safety equipment . I learned that from working in a steel mill for 40 years . Good video Mike .
When I use my saw or axe, I use my old hockey shin guards for leg protection. I figure, it could stop a slap shot, it could prevent axe or a saw injuries but I never had an injury to test my theory. I guess it is better than nothing. Great Video

If you use saws most days you'd probably be more comfortable in chainsaw trainers then chaps

Great video Mike. I work out in the field for the gas company and have had chainsaw safety courses. Our instructor showed us the damage chaps that was put thru a test like you did . He explained what happens, but now i have seen it. Those chaps can definitely save your legs and even a life. Thanks buddy that was an awesome show.
Nice demonstration. I worked as a production Faller on the west coast of British Columbia for about 20 years,and yes leg protection- essential! I noticed in your demonstration the chaps were strapped tight to the log. In reality when the saw makes contact with the chaps they rotate on the leg, and yes you will still get cut but much less severe. This is from personal experience. Thanks though for the video, very informative and practical.

@@OutdoorsWithTheMorgans About 60 percent of coastal forests here are Western Hemlock. We also have an abundance of Western Red Cedar, Amabilis fir, Sitka spruce. All being softwoods. Further south out of our zone there's also Douglas Fir.

Hey Mike, I have been going back and re-watching some of your older videos and this one makes me ask a question of you.
Where can you find chaps that fit "short, round" people?
All the chaps I look at are for people with legs four inches longer than mine, and the waist belts are about six inches too short!
I hate rolling the cuffs up as they tend to collect saw shavings and make for a tripping hazard when they catch on brush and tractor pedals and such.
As to the waist belt, I have tried making "extensions" and it works so so.
I know I am not the typical skinny logger type, but I also know that I am not the largest tree cutter out their either!
I have looked on line and cannot find anything that is a 26" length and 52" waist.
Back years ago when I was little dad has a his tree company he’s been doing it for 25 years ! Very professional! And he was in a tree cut a branch off and it came back and smacked him then his MS 200 spit his hand all the way the middle!!!! 😅😅his hands all good now!!
I've had a pair of those chaps hanging in garage for years. Lucky, I never had a serious chainsaw injury before, other than a small "burn" mark on the back of my leg. My wife watched the video with me, now she will always check me to see if I'm wearing mine from now on.

I don’t usually comment but I have to agree the 036 pro sounds great. We have an 034 that I believe is the same crankcase with a slight difference in bore and I love the way that chainsaw sounds.

Great demonstration! I believe the chain may have been improperly seated on the sprocket to begin with though. It looked like some sparks came from the chain while revving the saw.
Wow ! Never used chaps but I'm going get some now. Better to be cleaning fibers out of a chainsaw than to be taking a trip to the emergency room. Excellent video. Thanks Mike !
I think he said his Stihl pants were over$100. I got my Husqvarna pair at Lowes/Home Depot for $50 or 60. Each leg has 3 buckles and 1 for the waist. It's not uncomfortable to wear. And it's not unbearable when its warm out.

took my cs490 into a thick area and three teeth got my knee cap....... it wasn't full speed or anything but it got me good enough and convinced me that I need a pair.

hello from scotland .you need to put 2 set off spikes on your 362 for cutting down trees
Should have done the test with chaps slightly loose on a leg sized log. See if they would stop it or get spun and throw the saw into leg before it stops. I also think most hand injuries are from people falling on the saw. Lots of people push to hard instead of just letting the saw eat and lose balance at break through.

Two thumbs up Mike on the test , I've seen a guy that just nicked his leg with a chain saw in the wood mill I worked in and it was nasty if my memory serves me good he got like 43 stitches outside and 22 stitches inside , he said the saw just nicked him , I was like not me great video mike

Don Motz the knee is just a different wear layer. They are completely Kevlar underneath. Makes no difference where you hit these.
Don Motz the knee is where my grandson got it with a chainsaw. Luckily, he was just coming off of the cut and the saw was winding down. Still went through those jeans like they weren’t there. I trip to the ER and I don’t remember how many stitches he was back home. He was SO lucky! It chewed up the soft tissue of his knee but didn’t get too far down to where he needed surgery. A painful lesson but he was lucky, lucky, lucky!!

I just bought myself a pair of chaps and head gear! But I must say, that I am curious to see how it would have turned out if you came down on the chaps fast (like a kick back would) instead of going down slow untill you just touch the pants. I’m sure that they would offer great protection, but I feel like you would atleast get a scratch.. 💁🏼♂️ thanks for the video!
You should try running a few tanks of stihl motomix in your ms362. It will run even faster!
LEFT HAND INJURIES, from chainsaw course 1) one should hold the bar and use fingers to apply the chainbrake, however some people use their whole left hand and accidentally slip over it and touch the chain, 2) with single handed saws it is easy to cut in your other hand. So use protective gloves, they also have these fibers and will dampen vibration even more.
Good video. It's something that can be overlooked. But worth keeping your leg for! Wouldn't like to clean that stuff off the saw!

I love the old stihl saws. I have a West German 034. Fantastic saw. Unfortunately I know what a leg looks like after being in contact with a saw when I was a kid. Pretty knarly, and I came out well with only a few stitches. Love your videos, keep it up.
When I went to school for forestry .we had to watch some very nasty videos on what the aftermath is on your body from saws .very scary. And gross

I work at a veterans cemetery as a caretaker and we have to do tree work on occasion. I cringe so hard when the guys I work with don't use chaps because I've seen in my other lines of work how much damage a chainsaw can do to the legs. I've seen people be hospitalized for months because the chain came loose and nicked someone on the kneecap. It's crazy how such a simple garment can be overlooked, even if it means the difference between a slight discomfort or being permanently disabled.
Wow that's crazy! I was always told that the pants do not work! Dont always believe everything you hear and believe most of what you see!
I have a pair of those chaps and I left them out in the garage and a mouse ate a hole through the back about the size of a soft ball. The strands however are still intact. Luckily, the hole is way down by the ankle so I think they are still good. Store those things in a safe place away from rodents. They aren't cheap.
I am curious ....how long did it take you to get all the strands outta the clutch and the bar tip sprocket ?

My adult son had a mishap with a chainsaw today, lucky he was wearing chaps. He was surprised A) how easy it was to have accident B) how effective chaps are. I just watched because I was ignorant on what and how they work. I sure am glad he was wearing chaps today.
