      Hi Andrew. About 20 years ago, when you were a young teen-ager, I used to deliver pizzas to your house. Congratulations on the success of the business you are building. For the past year, I have followed quite a few channels that own or feature your amazing wood splitters. You are having an amazing impact on the wood splitting/ firewood industry. Well done. Jim

    Hello from Alaska!
    I followed from Doss Farms!
    Chad says you need chickens!
    This would be amazing up here in southeast Alaska. They have area's out the road where the city will clean along the highway and leave stacks of logs, whole trees, and if you can cut it, you can have it. Were talking huge pine trees and cedar trees in stacks just sitting along the highway waiting for people to collect. There's also a lot of marked tree's that are free to take on national forest land up here.

    Hi Brock. It might be more efficient if you started by lining up the rounds in a row going away from you. Split the first round in half or quarters, then place those pieces on the Axis, or a table next to it. Then, split the second round and repeat.

  • @TheRustyGarageandHomestead

    I've got to say how impressed I am that you can leave kit unsecured. Here in the UK you have to bolt everything down to the floor. Barns have to be padlocked shut and gates as well. It is best to fit hidden isolator switches to cut the machines off, but this still doesn't stop them taking the fuel. Toe rags tried to peel back the steel cladding on my neighbours barn. They got in but were disturbed so nothing was taken. I wish we had the right to bear like you do. Keep up the good work from your 51st state.

      I wish we had your attitude over here. Britain has become far too soft. My neighbour lost his quad. The pol lice came round with some locks and pamphlets. Another neighbour had all of his equipment in a steel shipping container. Even with addition security they still managed to clean him out of all his gardening contract equipment. No further action was taken by the you know who. Our farm has cctv and a lot of alarms. So far, luck has been on our side but for how long. A few years ago a farmer over in east anglia shot a gip po. Unfortunately the young man was running away, therefore not a threat. The farmer got 7 years for MS.

    That's super cool! I know it's mainly used to break up large rounds but I had the thought it would be neat if it had the option for a control valve on the unit and you could operate it like a horizontal log splitter once you broke up your big rounds.

    I don't know. Looking over your assortment & maintenance of splitting/handling tools, skids, tractors, mics saws, etc., reminds me to be especially thankful for the natural gas pipe coming into my house. Not to mention injury risk with 'logging', potential of increased homeowners insurance from burning wood, EPA not in love with wood heating, and expensive out-door wood boilers stinking up the hood.
    I think if someone spent a fraction of a typical wood heater's overhead and invested it into decreasing their home's BTU losses, he'd be ahead of the game. Cool stuff though:)

    • @a-verybasic2
      @a-verybasic2 Місяць тому

      And to add to your advise - infiltration control of passive air is just as helpful or more, this will dramatically improve the efficiency of you home or building.

    • @terrylutke
      @terrylutke Місяць тому

      @@a-verybasic2 Yes, air infiltration control is often the least expensive energy improvement one can do. Most energy use improvements are zero maintenance after installation, sometimes are tax deductible or maybe partly subsidized by local utilities. All offer a nice pay-back for the life of the structure. I know this is off-topic, more like a PSA:)

    As I am watching you, I think part of the difficulty was trying to manipulate the round in this tight area with the machine. I bet in an open wood lot, you would have zipped through it faster!

      I didn’t stage them well, but I also don’t edit the footage to make it look like I’m a smoother operator than I am
      The mini skid is a lot smoother at RPM but I wanted the wood splitter to cycle fast so I had it cranked up

    Pardon me if I am mistaken, but it looks like that mini skid steer is jerkin' the crap out of you. I think what our industry needs is an electric crane that would drag a round over and hoist it onto the splitting nest. Hmmmm. Maybe I'll get out my tourch and welder. Then again, maybe Andrew could do it for us. ;-)) Shalom/gw
