    I feel the same as you. I have been looking at older tractors to avoid the new electronic dependent fuel systems and functions because I don’t need all the bells and whistles but what I do need is for my tractor to make hay when the sun shines and I have heard too many complaints about new tractors being crippled in the middle of a hay harvest by a “sensor” going bad. P.S. I am a life long maintenance mechanic so I have seen firsthand how the new electronics can make repairs much more difficult. I am a strong believer in keeping the mechanical equipment you depend on everyday as simple as possible

    Brock, the TYM574 is the one I was guessing you were going to end up with, nice looking tractor!
    I've been eyeing it for awhile though I've gone back and forth between the 474 and the 574... I think if I pull the trigger on one itll probably be the 574 at this point.
    I do want to support my (semi) local dealer, but thats a bangin' deal from your dealer!

    Just purchased a TYM 494 ROPS paid $32,000 including tax . Could have stepped up to the 574 but 494 was more tractor than I really needed plus the turbo is just something else that could possibly give problems later on after warranty was done. Unit came with grapple, stump bucket, land plane, tires filled and several other odd and ends even has blue tooth speakers and work lights. The tractor is outstanding. My dealer is 15 miles away and maintenance on tractor is very easy to do. Felt the price was very fair. Very happy with purchase would do all over again if needed. PS GREAT VIDEO THANK YOU.

    My father bought his Kubota in 1989. He sadly passed a decade ago, I still have it, never had a problem with it. I bought a B2601 last year for more capacity, 150hrs so far and zero issues. Kubota is the best machine made. Yanmar is the only other I would personally consider. For me, I value a machine that will keep going for decades without issue.

    I sold my Kubota M7060 with 700hrs and bought a TYM T494 with a cab. I had a lot of sleepless nights wondering if I made the right choice. I now have 150 hours on the T494, and I couldn't be happier. It lifts almost as much as the m7060 It plows wet heavy snow better using the same 8' plow it pulls logs pretty good not as good as the Kubota, but it has 20hp less. Tym also has a 6-year warranty and Kubota has 3. I like the Kukje engine also, I went with the T494 because It didn't have a turbo just one less thing to brake. It does seem to use a little more fuel than the Kubota but not terrible. I enjoyed your videos on all the different tractors you did a great job and will be a help to anyone looking to buy a new tractor. Take care

      I considered Deere, tym and yanmar. After operating the ihmt trans, you really learn how gutless the hydrostatics are. That, coupled with reliability and overall quality, the yanmar really stood out to me. The Deere was too pricey, and the tym was too cheap feeling.

    • @helihoot
      @helihoot 8 місяців тому +5

      The YT359C is a work of art and a super strong machine. The IHMT transmission is an engineering marvel that works like an HST but is much more efficient.
      The A/B mode is amazing. Ground speed and engine rpm set independently in two separate modes. I'm thinking Brock didn't get to experience it's advantages.
      Automotive style cruise control, dual rear remotes standard. 2500lb FEL lifting capacity.
      Much much more. Pure hydrostatic like the TYM is a turn off. Too inefficient.

The only "down-points" are the limited dealers & the Price but better than JD & a stronger Tractor for Similar pricing to the Kubogy's.

      I"ve got a yanmar 359c with just under 50 hrs on it. Like the tractor turns on a dime everything works slick as a button. One thing i dont like is the speed difference between the gears in 3rd it will run 18mph in 2nd 6mph 1st is a crawl. Sometimes you just need more speed without having to change gears. Thats me being picky.

      @chrisking4422 it depends on the situation. When I need to work in a confined space or have a small job the T264 will get the task. The CK2620 is for larger jobs where space is not an issue.
      I do like the comfort features on the CK2620 more so it is more often chosen because of that but they are both great machines. I love the Kukje engine on the T264, it has good power and great harmonics, love it's sound.

    I went through the same review last year. It came down to TYM and Kioti. I went with Kioti due to the dealership being nearby and has been around for 40+ years. The TYM dealer would not change out the tires from R4 to either R14 ( preferred ) or R1 which brought the tractors more or less to the same price point. I certainly agree with you on the simplicity of the engine and the dealership even indicated that a DPF delete was very simple once the warranty expired. After looking at a lot of tractors, I bought a used JD 2630 (75 HP) for $6,000. It has a new short block, injection pump, Hydraulic pump, and one new rear tire. I bought a new rear tire that matches. I bought an original matching 145 front end loader at auction. I ordered new hydraulic lines as the previous owner had installed rubber lines and were in the way of the front end installation. My dealer had to order the steel hydraulic lines from Atlanta for about $300 (three lines) and got them in 2 days. Almost everything else I needed the dealer had in stock. People, this is a 50 year old machine and absolutely no issue getting parts. There are no electronic issues with this machine ever lol, only electrical parts on the machine are the starter, alternator, lights. and battery. I plan to install new front tires and paint this winter and I will have around $10,000. I bought original factory repair manuals on EBay.

    For the money I got the perfect tractor for me but it is fun to see all the ones you have reviewed!!!

    I still have my Kubota but when I wanted to get a cab it was 23k difference in price with fewer features on it that I really needed so it would have been close to a 26k difference in the end. I had cold sweats about changing but I have to say if I was shopping today I’d probably go to a TYM dealer first and I doubt I’d leave without a deal. If Kubota ever gets serious about pricing we’ll see. So far I love my 474. This was a great video series. I’m looking forward to watching what you do with yours.

    I recently bought a Kubota, I went with Kubota because they are the Toyota of tractors. Reliability, Resale, and parts and service available. I looked at Mahindra, New Holland, Kioti and Massey Ferguson. I could have saved several Thousand dollars with more standard upgrades. I started out looking for a used tractor but I saw a lot of Korean/China made tractors with less than 200 hours being sold as is that has issues which tells me the quality control is not as good on these brands. Just my Humble opinion.

    • @jasonc6962
      @jasonc6962 7 місяців тому +5

      Agreed. While people do complain about kubota and John deere lifting capacity, They are set lower because of their tipping weight. They cannot guarantee you will not have weight on the back in order to keep you from tipping over and you suing them. The lifting capacity can be adjusted through the pressure release. Don't.
      Let the dealer find out but you can do it. And a good heavy bushhog makes it good counterweight.

      The quality is absolutely not the same and making that mistaken assumption will hurt everyone buying a 20% cheaper machine because “it’s just as good!”. I have been there, buying chinese crap for most of my early life. Now I see all the stuff I have is crap that won’t survive being handed down to my children. Buy quality. Japan > USA > Korea > everyone else. It applies to nearly everything manufactured.

      And even now a days you need to be careful that even some Japanese brands are making products in China now, such as Makita, and the quality is apparent. Japan invented much of lean manufacturing, the nation just flat out makes higher quality products.

      People that buy Korean brands are usually new to farming. A lot of them by on price point, work a tractor for a year or two and then either go out of business of by a bigger machine. I bought Kioti 5320. Great tractor, did everything I needed it to but after a few years I need a bigger machine. I will till stick to Kioti but mine will be for sale.

    When we went tractor shopping I had limited choice as far as brands go. For us we were looking for cost, ease of use and availability. Eventually after knocking some brands off of the list we ended up going with a Massey Ferguson. We've looked into possibly getting a TYM but there are no dealers in this area and we didn't want to travel 2 hours to the nearest dealer. So far the Massey has been great and it's also a very simple machine, no electronic computers on in. We might go for a Massey Ferguson 2607H in the near future since it's one of the few tractors offered in the 75hp range that doesn't have a DEF system. I believe it also has mechanical fuel injection on it as well. Aside from that another option we've been eyeing is a Kubota 540 wheel loader since it's much more versatile and pre-setup for multi-function implements. Plus it has a hefty lifting capacity when equipped with pallet forks. :)

    Hard to argue Brock! I love my Kubota and it’s my second one. Resale and dealer support were my reasons why. No doubt if I had access to these other dealers, perhaps I may have been easier to move. Hard to argue with selling a machine, 12 years into ownership for what you payed for it. I just love them all and your ability to test them had to be awesome. I’m sure that TYM will be all you’ve been looking for.

    Great video! I agree with what you’re saying about all of the makes you mentioned. I’ve decided that I’ll be buying a TYM T654 by spring. The price I was quoted on the T654 was $71,000.00 JD was $94,000.00 followed by Kubota at $81,000.00. I like the idea of the TYM engine being mechanical, however I’m the T654 it is a Deutz diesel instead. I am confident of that engine still being a reliable engine.

      I think it depends on the area and the fact that it's a Rural King. I personally love Rural King but I never bothered looking at their tractors, because I figured when I buy a tractor, I will go to a dealership. In PA it's been nothing but die hard John Deere and Kubota over the years. In the past 8yrs, I've noticed, Kioti, LS and TYM have started popping up and is gaining popularity.
      I have an LS dealer 2 miles from my house but I decided on the TYM after I researched it more and I love mechanical injection of the Kukje.
      So far I haven't needed anything from the dealer except for a couple of filters, which they had on stock, plus our Rural King had them too. Personally I like to stock myself with those for the o schit moments haha.
