    Dang, now that’s a log splitter! Very excited to hear it’s an American made product. We all need to support American businesses (especially small businesses) as much as we can. Given all of the wood you’ve been acquiring lately you’ll definitely put that splitter/processor through its paces!

    That machine is a beast. So glad you got it and even more happy that you are partnering with Mr. Larry. You're still picking those rounds up though. I hope on the bigger rounds you start using the small tractor. Your lower back will thank you for it.
    Can't wait to see the other things you will be demonstrating for Mr. Larry.

    Great video. Last year, my wife and I met the owners of American Logsplitters. They were super nice and spent 15-20 minutes with us, showing off their equipment. Not only did I notice how well-built their splitters were, but I also noticed how reasonably-priced they were. Looking forward to more logsplitter videos and every other project that you and your wife get into.

    The log splitter website has no prices listed which can sometimes make buyers move to the next manufacturer.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  Рік тому +1

      I absolutely understand that and I've talked with Mr Larry about updating the website. Me posting prices is something I don't want to do. You might ask for completely different accessories, modifications and have different shipping. That can easily swing the price a few thousand one way or another. A quick phone call can get you the most accurate pricing.

    With the big mill shutting down, is it going to open some doors for the local people to start processing wood? My first thought when I heard this news was that a few guys need to team up and set up a small privately owned sawmill.

    Very nice splitter Andrew. It appears the one you have is a left handed operations. I didn't see on their website if you could get them either left/right handed or not. You may want to pass along to them if they could put some pricing on their website, at least each models "starting at" price. I know their custom specked, but at least the consumer would know what the "base" price is starting out. Looks like a great splitter and great to know they are made in America. Nice splitter.
    I bet you've already made this adjustment, but move your tote to more to the operator's side instead of directly to the front of your splitter. This way you don't have to step around the machine to stack your firewood.
    Second, you may want to look at fabricating some outriggers. Maybe a suggestion for the owner as an option. When you were lifting some of those logs (especially that massive log), the hydraulics had no problems with the load, but I was worried about the stability of the machine, and the potential for it to tip.

      Yeah I'm not interested in one of those high dollar fancy processors or other types of equipment. Main wants was a log lift, multiple wedges and well built. This fits the bill and then some.

    If they had a price breakdown or option list to build a splitter on there website. I understand it’s only 12 people and it’s one less thing to worry about when you have log spitters to build….I usually take as if you gotta ask you can’t afford it

    Nice looking machine..I would only have looked into a way to dampen that muffler sound...it's loud to be hearing that all day..or heavy duty hearing protection. Don't be like me and can't hear at 59 yrs old from yrs of random excessive noise.
