The 2024 Subaru Ascent Touring is an excellent three row SUV, and when you consider that this fully loaded Subaru Ascent was just a hair under $50k, which undercuts the popular Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade in their top trims, as well as the Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander, you start to see why this Subaru Ascent is so popular among other three row SUVs. But it's not the value that's the most impressive aspect of the Subaru Ascent, it's the day to day livability and experience. The Subaru Ascent Touring drives and rides better than most of its competitors, and its incredibly simple to use as well as being one the safest vehicles in the class. Sure, the Subaru Ascent is kind of dorky looking when many of its competitors, like the Kia Telluride and new Chevy Traverse, are cranking up the style, but there's an honesty to the way the Subaru Ascent operates that makes it great. We love the supportive and comfortable seats in the Subaru Ascent, the controlled ride, and the versatile use of space... and of course Subaru's excellent symmetrical all-wheel drive. It's not all perfect, though. Aside from the frankly silly styling, the powertrain is only moderately powerful and fuel efficient (but quite smooth), and the Starlink infotainment system is a major weak point. It looks outdated, it's slow and clumsy at times, and some of the AC controls are screen-only, which is never a good thing. But despite those complaints, both of us agreed that we'd happily own and drive the Subaru Ascent Touring trim. For our tall family's needs, it checks all of the boxes and comes with the versatility people love so much about Subaru. Don't judge a book by its cover, and definitely don't judge the Subaru Ascent by its styling. It might not turn heads like the new Chevy Traverse or the refreshed Ford Explorer, but it's giving you all of the things for less money... and the ride/handling balance of the Subaru Ascent is our favorite after maybe the Chevy Traverse. It's that good. Don't knock the Subaru Ascent until you try it!

We just bought a new Ascent and love it. Traded in our 2012 Outback. Once you're behind the wheel the ride and drivability are great. These seats are wonderful. The touring is quiet and a pleasure to be in. If I'm still around in 12 years I'll probably buy another Subaru

After a lot of consideration and thought (4 years later) 😂 we traded our 2020 Forester Sport for an Ascent Touring. Our third Subaru as a family in 10 years. They drive sooooooooo much better than anything else in the class.

Definitely helps that it sits low in the chassis, but I wonder how much of an effect it has on the Subaru Ascent's excellent ride quality.
