Need to replace your ignition switch? I did with a 90HP Mercury outboard. Many of you may hear this engine referred to as the "Tower of Power".
This was a simple 10 minute fix and I hope you have the same experience I did.

I have two more yellows from the neutral safety switch. Yellow/ red
I didn't unplug batteries.. I guess I may have shorted something 🤔. Where should I start?

Fun story, after buying back my first car from the son of the guy I initially sold it to, I came to find out that these guys were good friends with Stevie Wonder!!, and it looks like they enlisted him to rewire the ignition after the factory key broke off in the barrel. 🤨 seriously though they got one of these boat ignitions then hacked, ground, and twisted the wiring under the dash like they were mad at it, and when they couldn't make the super complex ignition switch work, they put it up on market place

You should tell us what each wire is supposed to do. Not everybody has the same color wires as supplied with switch.
That’s a good point. Unfortunately I sold the boat. The manual for the motor was helpful in determining what each wire coming from the motor was responsible for. I simply matched the schematics from the switch with the engine manual.
Not a single complete switch wiring diagram.

I wanted to do a thumbs up but also thimbs down. Everyone knows basoc follow the color wiring method. What would have been informative wpuld be fuse amperage and setup location as well as some basic i fo of what solenoid and Magneto points are inconnection to the connection points on the 6/7 point ignition installation. Other than that great filmography and narrative. 😁😁😀😀
Thanks… my point of the video is that not everyone knows to follow the color wiring method. I was really aiming to help someone that might not know as much as you or I do. If I had the info you were looking for I would do a more advanced video. Thanks for the feedback.
