Just in case you missed it, this is a recall issue. Recall programs 19B37 and 21N12. Ford will reprogram the PCM and may repair/replace engine block if damaged from coolant intrusion.
I think it would have worked if you have got the right sealer. It would be a temporary solution but it would got you up to one year of driving. I had a coolant intrusion on my 2.0 ecoboost. it was a 2017 model and guess what? cyl 2 was the culprit. These sealants are silica. to work it out they need to be follow as the directions said. I think the key point there would be that you poured it directly in the reservoir. There are pour and go and regular ones and the first one the thermostat needed to be bypassed. The second one the system need to be flush. Anyway the best solution really was the one you took, you got it fixed. I still debating if I am going to trade it or just fixing it myself and working on the engine a little every weekend (which is a hell of a work). These fords have that crack in the middle of the cyls that are as the people said subject to a class action.
2018 Ford Escape 1.5l 89,800 miles. P0302 and low coolant. Tried spark plugs and coil. no fix. Car still runs fine but throws code. Called Ford customer satisfaction group and lady said they they extended "one time fix" for 7 years of original warranty or 84,000 miles, whichever comes first!!!! I miss by a little over 5000 miles. Not sure where they came up with odd 84,000 miles.
@@patman6816having same issue. Mines at 95k miles and runs fine except the cylinder 3 misfire. Coolant level down though. What are you gonna do? Mech has it now and is seeing where the coolant is going other than cylinder.

I had my check engine light go on. The mechanic said spark plugs and ignition coil. Known problem only 3 spark plugs came out 4th stuck. The mechanic took it to a Ford dealer. Coolant leaking need to replace engine $9k. I have 82k miles if I had 84k Ford would not cover it. Should get it back Dec 2, 2023. Today is Nov 20, 2023. Hope new engine is the answer.
So it didn't work? My 2017 Ford Escape was just diagnosed with the same issue. $6700 to replace the engine. 73, 332 miles. Book value $8,200. Just paid it off last month. Ford will not help. Said the vehicle does not meet the parameters for $ assistance. In other words, it's too old. I don't know what I'm going to do.

I was not informed of the recall 19B37 and it looks like it is done for now.
There is a TSB on this. Look into that. TSB 19-2346
Same problem on wife’s 17 2.0 fusion…. There are TONS Eco Boost out there with this problem.. ONLY fix is new long block👍
Yes that seems to be the case. Got a new engine and 6 months later needed a new transmission.

@@patman6816 It is because they know the intrusion starts more often at 100k and above.

I THOUGHT the max was only a half of a bottle a full bottle would clog the whole system.
If it's out of warranty, then you are out of pocket for $7000 at least for the replacement engine long block and labor.
