Huge difference. 4AGE sounds a lot more raw and very distinctive compared to any B-series engine. I typically recognize 4AGEs by their "O" phonetically-sounding note at high-RPMs whilst B-series engines are more on the buzzy side.
There was a law in I think the early 80s where it became mandatory for speedometers to never exceed 180 KMH, even if the car is capable of going much faster. This is why Japanese Supras and R34 Skylines and such only have 180 KMH but then the same car sold in different markets (USDM or EDM) can have speedos up to 320 KMH or 180 MPH (290 KMH)
Both my 1990-2001 JDM cars have speedo that max at 180 but go well over. It's actually nice to drive though. When your over 180 your in top cog anyway so doesn't matter
The main difference with Toyota is the sound at high RPM. It does not cause that annoying vibrating resonance from Honda like your body panels are going to come apart. Toyota’s engine sounds smooth towards the upper rev range. For those who do not believe me please listen to both Honda engines and Toyota engines again and compare. It’s that loud vibrating noise is what I dislike from the sound of Honda engines.
