I enjoyed your analysis Theo. I do something similar as you in evaluating my purchases. Watching you confirmed some things for me. In addition to the monetary breakdown, one has to figure in the thrill/entertainment value of the reveal. It is a like Christmas when I was a kid. Thanks again for putting this together.

Awesome project and amazing results. Nothing better than a SGC sub blind opening. For my Clemente collection project I have picked up a few raw and graded with SGC, but also picked up some graded SGC slabs, but have not done a comparison on price. Thanks again and keep up the great work.
I always have that question of buying graded vs ungraded, so it was fun to do it on camera. Man is Clemente great to collect, I’m glad there’s others guys like you collecting him also and we can share!

Beautiful cards and some targets for my growing #21 collection! My current favorites are the 68 KDKA (I got an entire Pirates team set of that issue, though I’m a lifelong Reds fan), and the 72 Daily Juice hand cut, which I have in a 6.
The entire KDKA set is sick, very cool! Daily juice is a great one, I’m working on finding the harmony dairy variation for a good price. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Good job I figured you'll get between 5-6 on the standup it presents real well. You did real good on the nabisco. That's why I dont grade my Bazooka and post cards SGC are so iffy on those great job brother thanks for the shoutout👊✌

Nice Boca Box Theo! I think I send in for graded mostly to test my own personal grading eye and quality assurance, lol. I pretty much ignore the grades about a day after I get my cards back as it's just for my collection anyway. Different people grade for different reasons and I respect everyone's reason to. Love the research and time you put in to this. That East Hills looks awesome! From my experience buying from antique malls and flea markets then getting them graded is the way to go. I've made way bigger deals (monetary wise) going that direction. But I also haven't taken too big of risks buying ungraded yet. Beautiful stand-up card! BTW we don't need calculators, we have Adam! 😅
Haha, we have Adam! I’ve never done an antique mall but would love to do one in the future. Vintage on vintage does them a lot. It’s definitely funner buying raw and grading but very nerve racking waiting for the grades. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!

First of all congrats on a really great return, all of those cards present so well and look fantastic in their slabs! The standup that we first looked at together looks amazing, that card in that grade with that eye appeal will only continue to go up in value!
The question of should you buy graded or ungraded is an interesting one. I mostly buy ungraded and sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, most time you are break even and occasionally you hit big. I have recently been buying already graded cards because I think they are bargains and the grade kinda of establishes the floor and ceiling. I think if someone is looking only to resale keep your cards raw, people will pay for the chance to hit big. With Clemente cards I don’t think it matters as much because his cards are so sought after.

Yes, I agree, ungraded is prob best bet for future returns but hard for a loved one to know what they have. I liked seeing the numbers but will definitely do both moving forward, I do realize a trimmer card could bite me at some point if I keep this up. It’s really cool you saw this in person, I hope Matt’s grades well also.

You definitely go to more card shows and flea markets then me. Buying raw on eBay is definitely scary at times. I’m definitely happy with my returns, you have to let me know when you see deals on some Clemente OPC out there.

I got burned by getting a raw 67 and 73 that came back from SGC authentic with evidence of trimming. So if you buy raw you take that chance

Thanks for doing this! I enjoy Grade reveal videos way more than lets say a EBay mail day showing pre slabbed cards. And as a collector Yes nerve racking but also more exciting to get that reveal in the mail. So I’m glad sending in raw cards yielded the higher ROI. With that said, I’ve only received one PSA return in my life and I’m waiting on my second return of childhood cards that I sent in and I must say after seeing how picky the graders can be I’ll need to lower my expectations. Maybe 2-4’s if I’m lucky. I love the analytics aspect you included in the video. New subscriber, 1st video I’ve watched of yours. My guess is you weren’t alive when Roberto tragically was killed. Curious, How did you become so obsessed with Mr. Clemente? 👍❤️
Glad you enjoyed it! Yes, I never saw Clemente play but my Dad did and told me about it! Clemente is the greatest sports star in Pittsburgh sports history. I bleed black and gold.
