These videos are awesome and straight to the point! Thanks and keep them coming since I’m FINALLY going to start recording. These videos have already helped me sooooo much when it comes to this part of making the songs better.
Man, i’m really digging your channel. I appreciate all the info. Keep it up. Songwriting and mixing is definitely something I need to work on and I really do appreciate this
Haa thanks for clarifying things on the ringmod, I need to do some xperiments on this ! Also don't worry about your voice, you still cover essential points in whatever you explain so who cares if it's not energetic and in your face. Keep the amazing content going and take care bud
I appreciate the kind words man, truly I do 🙏 I’m not trying to change my personality or anything. Just working on actually speaking at a normal volume 😅 I appreciate you! 🙏
ring mod is underrated as hell, i got into using it from the band Car Bomb, where Greg Kubacki uses it for those low chunky riffs. sounds great around like 30-40 hz on a guitar in drop A or lower
Have you tried ring mod side chain with that plug-in? I also recently discovered that plug-in and have been using it to push the bass guitar out of the way for the kick drum. Unlike a compressor with attack and release, the kick pushed the bass out of the way at the exact speed it comes and goes.
They likely use the Whammy DT pedal. Basically when they do the screechy high sounds, it’s just pitched up from the original tuning and the ringmod helps sell that sound!
Thank you🤙🏻 For the harmonics, the only additional processing was ringmod. I typically don’t do anything different for harmonics unless I want them to ring out longer. In that case I would automate the gate to allow that to happen
There's a few workarounds. The easiest being run all audio from guitars through a DAW via a laptop so all the automation is there. With how tracks are used almost always these days, it isn't outside the realm of possibility
Hey man! Yeah I would maybe still be up for that! You can reach out to me on Instagram or anywhere else and just send a link to download the stems so I can take a look!
can you please talk more aggressively. Sometimes I have a hard time following the video all the way through .. and i really like your videos for the information... please....

Ring Mod has been a mystery to me, thanks for diving into that here! 🍫🦖🤘
Kilo plug-ins are also free if you know how to use the Internet. Actually this is true for all software.
Not for Mac users as far as “the internet”

Make the rhythms all choppy.
@@jessepaul8819 i dont get it hehe
I'll see what I can do without being too repetitive 🤝
@@BlakeLW do u do 1on1 sessions?
can't you just use phaser instead for the ring mod tho?
what about stuff Mirar does? i've read somewhere that they achieve their sound with an expression pedal but im not sure
They likely use the Whammy DT pedal.
Basically when they do the screechy high sounds, it’s just pitched up from the original tuning and the ringmod helps sell that sound!
I have so many questions. How much to answer them all? 😆
Great bits of advice there! Do you do any other processing on the harmonics or do you just use ring mod?
Thank you🤙🏻
For the harmonics, the only additional processing was ringmod. I typically don’t do anything different for harmonics unless I want them to ring out longer. In that case I would automate the gate to allow that to happen
I really want to know how is this gonna work in a live show ?

Do you still help subscribers for mixing their song? if so how can i send you mix? Im stuck real bad!

what drum do you use?
I use the GGD PV kit!
@@BlakeLW I don't have that, just the okw architect and modern fusion, can you do a tutorial on combining them? I'd be so fucking grateful😭😭😭
Sub mf scribed! Can u make a video on how to do the fx in the song “boy” by ten56?

Could you perhaps timestamp where in the song the specific fx are? I can try and see if I can recreate it!

I'm working on it with each video, I promise. I know I speak very softly and it's very hard to break that habit after 20+ years of living this way 😅
